AC/DC will receive the Legend Award at this year’s annual O2 Silver Clef Awards on July 5th in London. They will be acknowledged for their five decades as an influential and iconic band. Formed in ’73 by brothers Malcolm (rhythm guitar) and Angus Young (lead guitar), AC/DC has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, roughly 100 million in the U. S. Their eighth studio album, “For Those About To Rock” (’81), was their first album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200. The O2 Silver Clef Awards aid U.K. music-therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins.
