Grandmother Transferred From Hospital To Homeless Shelter. No One Told Her Family. Then She Vanished.
Mattie Wilson is a mother, grandmother, and more who lived in Memphis, Tennessee, close to her abundant and nurturing family.
During the year 2008, 55-year-old Mattie suffered her second stroke. It was then that medical professionals admitted her to Regional Medical Center. Mattie stayed at Regional Medical Center for three weeks. During this time, her daughter made unsuccessful efforts to get her mother into a nursing home, where she could rehabilitate and receive care.
On July 30, 2008, Mattie was transferred from the hospital to a homeless shelter. Mattie was transferred to the homeless shelter without the knowledge of her family. The hospital sent Mattie to the Restoration Homeless Shelter in the 3500 block of Dumast.

Her disappearance occurred within the hour of her arrival at the shelter. She was never seen or heard from again.
Mattie Wilson has slurred speech, walks with a limp, and may suffer from memory loss. She is 5'3"-5'5" and weighed 106 pounds when she vanished. Please contact the Memphis Police Department at 901-636-4479 with any information.

Mattie Wilson vanished from Memphis, Tennessee on July 30, 2008. Mattie Wilson is a mother, grandmother, and more who lived in Memphis, Tennessee, close to her abundant and nurturing family. She is a devoted mother to two adult children and a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren. Mattie also previously served as the secretary for Memphis City Council, the Charley Project reports.
