It’s now 11 years since the first playable version of Star Citizen first hit PC. In that time, Cloud Imperium has raised more than $720m in crowdfunding and carried the space MMO all the way to alpha version 4.0.0, which is expected to launch in the near future. We’re still waiting on the single-player Squadron 42, and it might be a while until the full Star Citizen 1.0 launch arrives, but with the new system Pyro on the way, the persistent universe of SC feels ever closer.
