Halsey says she will be impersonating a new icon every day until the release of her upcoming album, The Great Impersonator, later this month. She will also accompany her cosplay with snippets from their music, and post consistently on Instagram for most of October. Halsey’s first act was Dolly Parton, and she looked just like the country music star in a huge curly blonde wig, a sleeveless outfit with matching gloves, and some makeup. It was a recreation of Dolly’s 1987 Rainbow album cover, and fans could not get over how spot-on it was. Dolly herself was in the comments with a red heart emoji, proving she loved the act. “I love very much this idea to promote your new project, this is so exciting!!!’ another exclaimed. “You have no idea how much this means to me and my Dolly Parton heart,” a third comment read. Dolly Parton in the 80s/ Everett More icons to impersonate After debuting her impersonation project with a Dolly album cover recreation, Halsey paid tribute to PJ Harvey, who inspired her third track titled “Dog Years.” “One of my absolute favorite songs on the album, inspired by one of the most influential artists of my lifetime,” she noted.
