Brooks & Dunn And Chris Stapleton Are Now Tied For The Most CMA Award Wins Ever
Breaking records and taking names.
On Wednesday night, the CMA Awards were filled with records being set not only for the men in the room but also for the ladies. The hottest stars and up-and-comers in country music convened last night at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena to celebrate the year in country music.
While many artists left the awards show last night with a glass trophy, even some that were not shown on television, like Ella Langley and Riley Green snagging Musical Event of the Year or Charlie Worsham taking home Musician of the Year.

The night also featured incredible performances from Chris Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn, as well as a beautiful tribute to The King of Country Music, George Strait, featuring Miranda Lambert, Jamey Johnson, and more. But while the night was filled with great performances, the awards show's aftermath showed some broken records.
Chris Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn are now tied for the most CMA Award wins with 19 a piece. Both artists took home the glass sculptures last night, Chris took home 3, in their respective categories, and those added honors broke new records.
Chris Stapleton extended his record for the most wins for Male Vocalist of the Year and is now an eight-time award winner. Luke Combs, hands down, had the best reaction to this record being extended during the CMA Awards; mouthing to his wife is pure shock that he's taken home the honor eight times.

Brooks & Dunn finally broke their tie with Vince Gill for the most-awarded CMA Award recipient, with their winning of Duo of the Year. This award was the first time Brooks & Dunn won a CMA Award since 2006. Talk about a comeback for this legendary duo, and Reboot II's release proves their career is not slowing down anytime soon.
However, Brooks & Dunn's lead in the number of CMA Awards won over the span of their career was a short-lived record, as Chris Stapleton tied them after winning Single & Song of the Year as well as Male Vocalist of the Year.
Both of these phenomenal artists now have nineteen CMA Awards on their shelves. NINETEEN! That's a hefty number.

As for the ladies, Lainey Wilson joined the ranks of the six women who have won Female Vocalist of the Year for three consecutive years following her wins in 2022 and 2023. The other women in this elite club include Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, and Tammy Wynette.
While there were a few other records broken throughout the evening, it's safe to say that Brooks & Dunn winning Duo Of the Year, breaking away from Vince Gill as the most decorated artist, just to be shortly tied again with Chris Stapleton minutes later takes the cake as best moment from the awards show.
Congratulations to all of the artists who received CMA Awards this year. It was a great year for country music, and while some of their choices were not what fans agreed with, I think we can all agree that having artists like Zach Top and the Red Clay Strays as nominees this year is a big step in the right direction for country music.
