Morgan Wallen Breaks Silence With Message To Fans, Still Doesn’t Acknowledge Winning CMA Entertainer Of The Year Award
He speaks... but he still didn't mention the CMA Awards.
Morgan Wallen has been laying low since wrapping up his One Night At A Time Tour, which ended in Charlotte, North Carolina in October. He did recently make an appearance at Jelly Roll's Bridgestone Arena concert in Nashville to sing "Cowgirls" with Ernest, but other than that, we haven't heard anything from him.
Until now.
Over the weekend, Morgan sent out a short video to fans who purchased a commemorative ticket (which has a screen display) from his aforementioned tour, and of course, many of them shared the video on TikTok. It's the first time we've heard from him in an official capacity since he was crowned the Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards in November, which he hasn't said a word about publicly.
That didn't change here, either, because in the video, Morgan thanked fans for showing up to his tour, telling them he's been taking some personal time, as well as working some, over the last month or so, saying he can't wait to see everyone back out on the road "at some point next year":
"What's going on, y'all? I know that if you're watching this video, then you spent at least one night on the 'One Night At A Time Tour.'
So I just wanted to say thank you personally, and give you an opportunity to have something cool at the same time, and let you know that I'm working, I'm taking a little bit of time for myself, but I'm working also. And I can't wait to get back out there and see y'all at some point next year. Appreciate it."
No mention of anything else, and it was a really quick video...

The fact that he continues to remain silent about winning what is supposedly such a coveted award says a lot about Morgan's feelings on it, I think, as he and the CMA have a pretty complicated history… in 2021, the country music superstar was banned from the attending the show after he was caught on video earlier that year dropping a racial slur. And the past two years, fans have sounded off after believing Morgan was snubbed from the night’s top prize, losing to Luke Combs in 2022 and Lainey Wilson in 2023.
I don't know if we've ever had an EOTY just completely ignore the fact that they won, but as someone who doesn't care about these Nashville award shows anyways... I kinda love it, honestly.
The timing of the video message coming out is interesting, too, as Morgan is due in court in Nashville on December 12th, where he will face four charges from the alleged chair-throwing incident that he was arrested for back in April.
Notably, Jeff Bridges failed to even pronounce Morgan's name correctly when he revealed he was the winner at the CMA Awards (which Morgan didn't attend, obviously), calling him "Morgan Waylon," which Ernest poked fun at when he brought Morgan onstage a couple weeks ago:
