Ana Navarro: You ‘Can’t Be Relaxing and Enjoying Christmas’ Because Trump

One of the major symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome is the inability to feel joy during a time of merriment and source your misery back to the President-elect. Fake-Republican Ana Navarro was showing her symptoms during Monday’s episode of The View when she demanded that no one could be happy during Christmas because Trump was about to be president again. She even got into a shouting match with moderator Whoopi Goldberg over it. It was obvious Navarro was in a particularly dreary mood early in the show, when she called on everyone to give their money to rejected former Congresswoman Liz Cheney in case she was investigated and prosecuted by the Department of Justice: She's sticking by her guns. She is a principled person with a backbone and courage. And if he goes after her, she's going to fight back. And it is going to be our job to protect her, to support her, to donate to a legal fund, to make sure that there are lawyers ready to defend her. Because it costs a lot of money, because it is very stressful and very drainful. Even if there is no crime, being investigated by the federal government is a big deal. “First of all, thank God for Liz Cheney,” she proclaimed. “So, when Donald Trump says something, believe him, people! Believe him. There's nothing to wait for,” she added, the panic beginning to show. As they were approaching the first commercial break, Goldberg was trying to instruct viewers not to fall for Trump’s rage bait. “He makes lots and lots and lots of noise…He does this to keep you all in a panic. He does it to make y'all do this and talk about him and it's so terrible,” she explained as she shook her arms in the air and convulsed.     As for what to do during Christmas and New Year’s, Goldberg told people to “be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don't bounce, make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families.” Goldberg’s lack of urgency to go nowhere triggered Navarro, who immediately started a shouting match and screeched about how people “need to prepare” for Trump and were “right to be in a panic.” In addition to falsely suggesting women in the military had something to fear from a Trump administration, Navarro also invoked the iconic “winter is coming” line from HBO’s Game of Thrones to paint a dark picture of the next four years and insisted “they can’t be relaxing and enjoying Christmas”: NAVARRO: No! Because we have the luxury of saying that because we're legal, we are successful, we are – GOLDBERG: Listen – NAVARRO: If you are an illegal immigrant in this country, you're not going to be not in panic! If you are a woman working for the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic! GOLDBERG: Ana, you tell people to say fraught and like this! That is not -- NAVARRO: No, I'm telling people to prepare, Whoopi! I'm telling people to prepare! GOLDBERG: You think they aren't prepared? They are prepared. I’m saying to people – NAVARRO: So, that means they can't be relaxing and enjoying Christmas when winter is coming! GOLDBERG: No, it doesn’t mean that! You know what? I'm sorry. NAVARRO: I mean, I disagree! GOLDBERG: Winter is – Babe, winter is here! Winter has been with us! “Yeah, but my point to you is we are in a privileged position that a lot of people are going to be under his attack are not!” Navarro shrieked. “I have a family who is going through the same thing! Ana, calm down!” Goldberg shot back. Anti-Trumper Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in to poke at Navarro. “I’m on his enemy’s list and I'm not panicking,” she declared while raising her hand. “We just have to live. You have to live. This is the United States of America…Live your life.” Goldberg took back command of the set and continued to shake her arms in the air and shout about how, “They're throwing 50,000 things at you to make you do this! I'm saying, don't buy into that! She went on to explain that her argument was that at some point in the future “we” would need to band together to “get out and fight” Trump, but enjoy Christmas first. The transcript is below. Yesterday she put out a very strong statement condemning what Donald Trump had said. And I kind of felt like, you know, like that song, it's like our nation turns its lonely eyes to you; because she's not trekking to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring. She's not going into, you know, deep hiding and in silence. She's not changing her tune all of a sudden. She's sticking by her guns. And Donald Trump said, I'm not going to tell them to do it. Yeah, but he's -- he's telling them to do it through Meet the Press. SUNNY HOSTIN: He’s saying they should do it. NAVARRO: If he hasn't done it in private already. And he's appointing people who are 100 percent loyal to him and who know that if they want to keep their jobs, they have to do what he wants them to do. So, when Donald Trump says something, believe him, people! Believe him. There's nothing to wait for. (…) 11:09:47 a.m. Eastern WHOOPI GOLDBERG: He makes lots and lots and lots of noise. He says he's going to do all these things, and he does this, and I say this -- I try to say it at least once a week. He does this to keep you all in a panic. [Shakes her arms in the air and convulses] He does it to make y'all do this and talk about him and it's so terrible. All we have to do from now until January 21st is be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don't bounce, make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families. Whatever he's going to do, he's going to do, but do take our word for it. Things seem to move slowly. Because yeah, they didn't come get Hillary, but he has other people who are ready to go, but I don't think that they can just go out and do what they want to do. [Crosstalk] NAVARRO: I told you last week I disagree when you when you say that because – GOLDBERG: I know. NAVARRO: No! And my point is we can lay down and do nothing for the next 15 days and be freak out for the next four or two years. But my point -- NAVARRO: Yeah, but my point to you is we are in a privileged position that a lot of people are going to be under his attack are not! GOLDBERG: I have a family who is going through the same thing! Ana, calm down! ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: [Raising her hand] I’m on his enemy’s list and I'm not panicking. GOLDBERG: Yeah. FARAH GRIFFIN: We just have to live. You have to live. This is the United States of America. GOLDBERG: We have to figure out what we’re panicking for! We don't know what we're panicking for! They're throwing 50,000 things at you to make you do this [shakes her arms in the air and convulses]! I'm saying, don't buy into that! FARAH GRIFFIN: Live your life. GOLDBERG: Do what you have to do! Take care of your family, and when we know what is happening, and we know what we're fighting, we'll get out and fight! That's what I'm saying. I'm not saying don't do anything. I'm saying, don't be this [shakes her arms in the air and convulses] because nobody can do it. NAVARRO: I think people need to prepare. GOLDBERG [To producer]: Would you like us to stop? Would you like us to stop? All right. We'll be right back.
