INCITING VIOLENCE? BLM Co-Founder Calls For Black Vigilantes To Seek Revenge After Daniel Penny’s Acquittal
After a Manhattan juror found former Marine Daniel Penny not guilty of the death of Jordan Neely, a man who was allegedly threatening subway riders, Black Lives Matter co-founder Hawk Newsome called for black vigilantes to seek revenge.
Newsome stated outside the court house steps, “We need some black vigilantes. People wanna jump up and choke us and kill us for being loud?”
He added, “How about we do the same?”

Per The Free Beacon:
A New York jury found Daniel Penny not guilty for the death of Jordan Neely, a homeless Michael Jackson impersonator whom Penny put in a chokehold on a Manhattan subway car last year.
After a seven-week trial that involved over 40 witnesses, the jury found Penny, a former Marine sergeant, not guilty of criminally negligent homicide.
The case earned national coverage in part because many saw the incident as indicative of general social dysfunction in cities around the country and of the woes of New York City’s subway system—by far the country’s biggest—which has been plagued by mentally ill homeless people. Some, including New York City mayor Eric Adams (D.), lauded Penny as a hero, whereas others, including Rev. Al Sharpton and New York’s Black Lives Matter chapter, saw him as a reckless vigilante who must be punished. Supporters of Penny, a Long Island native who was living in downtown Manhattan, donated more than $3.2 million to his legal defense fund.

Per NBC New York:
A jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Daniel Penny, finding the Marine veteran not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the May 2023 subway chokehold death of subway performer Jordan Neely.
The highly-anticipated verdict came on the fifth day of deliberations.
Last week, a judge dismissed the top count — manslaughter — against Penny after the jury twice said they could not reach a unanimous decision. They weren’t able to consider the lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide until the top count had been resolved.
Both charges were felonies and carried the possibility of prison time.
Penny, 26, gripped Jordan Neely around the neck for about six minutes in a chokehold that other subway passengers partially captured on video.
Penny’s lawyers said he was protecting himself and other subway passengers from a volatile, mentally ill man who was making alarming remarks and gestures. The defense also disputed a city medical examiner’s finding that the chokehold killed Neely.
