ADIOS, Amiga! Harris Advantage With Latinos Is Worst for Dems in FOUR Presidential Election Cycles

We all know Kamala Harris is an unpopular Democrat, despite the media spin. There's a reason she dropped out of the 2020 campaign before Iowa and -- absent Biden's coronation -- there's no way she would've…

Gene Simmons’ response to those who don’t like him

Kiss sold an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide and was on the road for 50 years but there are many Rock and Roll fans who don't like the band and some of them especially Gene Simmons. Usually it's because of the way he talks about money like it was the most important thing for him in life. In an interview with Kara Mayer Robinson (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), the bassist and singer shared answered about people who call him an "assh*le". Gene Simmons' response to those who don't like him "I would say there are some — could be a large number, could not — who think I'm an asshole. In fact, I named my second solo album 'Asshole', which, I thought, was akin to black people taking possession of the 'n' word. And fat people, overweight people, obese people, taking possession of that, so that you lessen the impact of that. "I'm okay with being labeled or thought of as an asshole, because I know who I am," he continued. "And there are other people who think, 'You only do this for money.' And my response is — of course. Why am I not salt of the earth when almost all the jobs on the face of the planet are performed by people who don't like the job they have, and the only reason they're doing that is to be able to earn money to feed their families and put a roof over their head? Only for money." He continued: "Nobody wants to dig ditches on a highway. The building we're in, somebody had to put up. They do that every day. They go to work, do the same thing every day, nine to five, five days a week. Join the union or not, and break their backs and never get rich, just to be able… 'That's the salt of the earth.' Why can't I be salt of the [earth]?" "The fact that I make more money? But I also give to philanthropy. And by the way, it's none of your fucking business who or what or where. I'm not trying to impress you or not. I know who I am. And maybe that's the best thing to do in life, is to just be comfortable in your own skin, 'cause not everybody likes Jesus either," Gene Simmons said. Michael Schenker says he would play one final show with UFO

Phil Mogg announced earlier this year that UFO was over but recently the radio host Eddie Trunk, who is a huge fan of the band, said the band should make a final show at least. Now in an interview with Rock Candy magazine, their classic guitarist Michael Schenker said he would be open to play one last show with the band. He is currently promoting his new album "My Years With UFO", which covers tracks he recorded with the band and the band's vocalist Phil Mogg is promoting his debut album with the new band Moggs Motel. Michael Schenker said about playing one final show with UFO "I don't know if Phil's physically fit. But I'll certainly think about a final UFO show if the possibility arises." He also said he invited Mogg to be on his new re-recordings album "but I'm not sure the message got to him. Managers can be funny sometimes." The band's original drummer Andy Parker told Rock Candy magazine that he would also be up to playing one final show with the band. Formed in London, England in 1968, they became in the following decades one of the most influential Hard Rock bands of all time. Besides Mogg, some of the other classic members of the band were Pete Way (Bass), Andy Parker (Drums) and Michael Schenker (Guitar). In almost five decades of career, the band released 22 studio albums, the final one being “The Salentino Cuts” (2017). They were a huge influence to famous bands like Iron Maiden, for example. For decades, the Metal band plays their song “Doctor Doctor” as the intro of their concerts. The band’s leader, the bassist Steve Harris is a huge fan of UFO. Some of their most famous tracks are “Doctor Doctor”, “Rock Bottom”, “Mother Mary” and “Lights Out”. Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton announces first show with new band

Aerosmith sadly retired from touring due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury and the band is currently inactive, so as the bassist Tom Hamilton said recently, the group members are working on their side projects right now. Hamilton had already talked about his new band called Close Enemies and now they announced their first show, which will happen next October 11 in Nashville, Tennessee. Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton announces first show with new band The musician talked about the show in a official post on X, saying: "Hey, I need to tell you something about a band I'm playing with called Close Enemies. We have a bunch of good songs recorded. We're going to release one soon. Meanwhile, we're doing a show in Nashville on October 11 in Nashville at a place called Eastside Bowl. Please come!!" The other members of the band are his longtime bass tech Trace Foster (Guitar), Peter Stroud (Guitar), Tony Brock (Drums) and Chasen Hampton (Vocals). Their first single will be released soon. [embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/DATdfo0ONdV/[/embed] In an recent interview with Guitar World Hamilton talked about the band, saying: “It was a punch in the gut finding our touring days are over. Maybe someday we (Aerosmith) can do something again, but it won’t be a tour. I’ve been keeping busy playing in a band we’re calling Close Enemies. We’ve recorded a bunch of killer songs and we’re getting closer to deciding how we’re going to put it out. Can’t wait!” Tom Hamilton said. Read the complete Aerosmith statement about retiring from touring: “It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.” “It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.” “We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.” They continued: “We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you – the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true.” “*For those who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster, you will automatically be refunded – there is nothing further you need to do. For those who purchased via third-party resale sites such as SeatGeek, StubHub, VividSeats, etc. – please reach out to your point of purchase for more details,*” Aerosmith said. The bassist that Geddy Lee that has insane bass solos

The bassist that Geddy Lee that has insane bass solos

A fundamental part of Rush, Geddy Lee is the band's vocalist, keyboardist and bassist. He is certainly one of the most influential bass players of all time, especially for musicians who love Hard Rock and Progressive Rock. His bass lines are still a huge influence for groups from thos sub-genres and were important for the development of that sound. Over the decades, Lee talked about many of his peers and even named one bass player that, in his opinion, has insane bass solos. The bassist that Geddy Lee that has insane bass solos Although Geddy Lee is also a singer and keyboardist, he really loves the bass guitar and even wrote a book about the instrument. So he always paid attention to new good bass players and one he praised many times was Flea. He really likes the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist and said in an interview with Music Radar in 2021 that he has insane bass solos. “I guess I have to mention Flea here, especially now we’re talking about Californian players. I dearly would have loved to have talked to him for my book. But I ran out of pages and ran out of time. Also, he’s more known for solid-state amps and contemporary instruments, which wasn’t quite a fit for a book about the '50s and '60s basses." He continued: “I was in the gym just the other day and heard 'Give It Away' playing. He’s such an original player; he can play up top in a way that doesn’t get in the way of the vocal. In fact, it enhances the vocal. It helps that Chad (Smith) can lay such a fantastic, solid rhythmic backbone for him, and John (Frusciante) or whoever is playing guitar has such a clear sound. The bass has full license to be expansive; he can go low and high. I’m a massive fan of how he works it up high, as counterpoint to the melody of the song." “His solos are insane from a technical point of view. Like Les (Claypool), he has this rhythmic thing that is from a different generation to mine. But he combines it with all these other things. You can see how much he loves to play - he’s having the best time. I love to see that in a bass player. He never takes for granted the opportunity to get out there and wind it up. Any bass player that’s allowed to play too much has the best gig in the world,” Geddy Lee said. Geddy said Flea is the best bassist of his kind of music [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr_uHJPUlO8&pp=ygUUZ2l2ZSBpdCBhd2F5IHJlZCBob3Q%3D[/embed] Talking with UDiscover Music in 2019 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage), Geddy mentioned Flea when talking about who would be the greatest bassist of all time. The Canadian artist explained that it's impossible to say who was the greatest, because it depends on the musician's style. So he mentioned Flea, saying for his style of music, he probably was the best. "If you look at Flea's playing for his style of music, it's fantastic, he's an amazing player. I have great respect for his bass playing. But how can you compare that to what Chris Squire (Yes) did. It's a whole different genre," Geddy Lee said. Michael Peter Balzary, best known as Flea, was born back in 1962 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He started his musical career in 1982 when he helped to form the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Alongside the vocalist Anthony Kiedis, he is the only member of the band who was part of all their discography. Besides being an accomplished bassist, Flea is also a trumpeter and keyboardist. He also is an actor and had small parts in many incredible movies over the years. Some of them are "Back To The Future" Part I and II, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "The Big Lebowski", "The Chase" and "My Own Private Idaho".The post The bassist that Geddy Lee that has insane bass solos appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.
