Fever 333: Darker White Release Date: 10/4 The set features “No Hostages” and “Higher Power.”  “(The set) is the intersection we will all find ourselves in at some point in our lives,” noted frontman Jason Aalon Butler. “It is the struggle we will inevitably face when identifying our metric for good or bad. Wrong or right. Dark and light. All based on our environment, social construction and cultural/psychological conditioning.” Myles Kennedy: “The Art Of Letting Go Release Date: 10/11 It’s Kennedy’s (Alter Bridge/Slash featuring Myles Kennedy) third solo album, He is backed by bassist Tim Tournier and drummer Zia Uddin. “There were tunes I had sitting around for a few years that just didn’t have a home and didn’t fit the (previous album’s) storyline,” noted Kennedy/ The Offspring: Supercharged Release Date: 10/11 “Supercharged” is the band’s first album with drummer Brandon Pertzborn. He replaced Pete Parada who was fired in ’21 for refusing to get a COVID-19 vaccination for health reasons. The lead single was “Make It All Right.” Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains): I Want Blood Release Date: 10/18 “This record is a serious piece of work.” stated Cantrell of his fifth solo effort. “There’s a confidence to this album. I think it’s some of my best songwriting and playing, and certainly some of my best singing.” Atreyu: The Pronoia Sessions Release Date: 10/25 It’s a collection of eight reimagined hits and two nostalgic tribute covers (Chris Cornell and Tom Petty), is now streaming (with vinyl and CD versions to hit streets on November 8th).  “We had the idea to do a show similar to Nirvana’s MTV ‘Unplugged‘ as a one-off thing,” explained frontman Brandon Saller. “Then we thought, ‘Why not spend some time on it in the studio?’ And it built from there. 311: Full Bloom Release Date:: 10/26 The set features “You’re Gonna Get It” and “Need Somebody.” the album’s second single. 311 say the album has a “message of positivity and unity.” “It’s so easy to become alienated by the pressures of everyday life. The band, primarily Noel and Liam Gallagher (pictured), warned any sales that turned out to be illegal would be canceled. 9/2 Jelly Roll Goes to Prison Jelly Roll, a former inmate, took his music the maximum security yard at Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem. “For the first time in 20 f—— years they have brought music to the prison yard,” Jelly Roll tells the prisoners from an impromptu stage. Yes, the show includes a rendition of Johhny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” which he personalized to “Oregon State Prison.”  9/3 Devildriver Guitarist Mike Spreitzer Leaves Band “After 20 years of playing guitar for Devildriver, I have decided it is time to go my own way,” said Spreitzer. 9/4 Brian May Suffers Minor Stroke Queen guitarist Brian May reveals that he recently suffered a minor stroke. The 77-year-old was initially unable to use his left arm but has since regained enough movement to be able to play music. 9/5 Linkin Park Announces New Singer, Song and Album Linkin Park introduces Emily Armstrong, a co-founder of Dead Sara, as their co-vocalist (with Mike Shinoda). The band also debuts “The Emptiness Machine” and the album “From Zero.” 9/5 “Walk On The Wild Side” Bassist Dies Herbie Flowers, who provided the hypnotic bass line for Lou Reed’s classic, dies from unspecified causes. Flowers long career includes sessions with David Bowie, Elton John and Paul McCartney. He also played the distinctive bass part on David Essex’s 1973 smash “Rock On” and Nilsson’s “Jump In The Fire.” 9/6 Blink-182 Release “One More Time… Part-2”  The eight new tracks expand last year’s “One More Time…,” which went to #1 on the Billboard 200.  9/6 The Dead Daisies’ Seventh Set “Light ‘Em Up” Vocalist John Corabi, ex-Mötley Crüe, joined The Dead Daisies in early ’15 but after three studio albums, he departed in ’19 only to return last year, 9/6 Metallica’s James Hetfield Is In “The Thicket” The “dark western thriller” is in theaters. It is Hetfield’s third feature film credit (and second playing a sheriff). His two previous films were “The Darwin Awards,” with Metalica as themselves and “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” where Hetfield played Bob Howard, the sheriff who was the first to arrest serial killer Ted Bundy. 9/7 Daughtry is #1 With “Pieces” Six months after earning its first #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Artificial,” Daughtry returns to the top. 9/9 White Stripes Sue Donald Trump The White Stripes file a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump asking for “significant monetary damages” over the use of their ’03 song, “Seven Nation Army,” for campaigning purposes without permission.  9/11 Linkin Park Launches Comeback Tour The concert at Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. showcases new members, singer Emily Armstrong (pictured) and drummer Colin Brittain. “It is not about erasing the past,” Linkin Park’s co-vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda tells the audience. “It is about starting this new chapter into the future and coming out here for each and every one of you. 9/13 Flotsam And Jetsam’s “I Am The Weapon” Drops Their 15th studio effort “goes one step further in terms of musical skill and composition,” stated the band in a statement. It includes the title track and follow-up songs, “Primal” and “Burned My Bridges.” 9/13 Snow Patrol Issue Eighth Album “The Forest Is The Path” contains the lead single “The Beginning.” The song “was written on the very first day,” the band wrote on Instagram. “That’s why it’s called the beginning in fact. Even though there are probably better words and phrases (that actually appear in the song) to be used as titles, ‘The Beginning’ stuck.” 9/13 Stryper’s New Album “When We Were Kings” Arrives “This album has some different twists and turns to it,” explained Stryper frontman Michael Sweet, talking about the band’s 16h studio effort. 9/13 Onstage Fight Ends Jane’s Addiction Concert Frontman Perry Farrell assaults guitarist Dave Navarro during a Jane’s Addiction concert in Boston. Ferrell is upset that the band starts “Oceans Size” before Perry is ready and that the band is playing too loud forcing Ferrell to scream the lyrics to be heard. Perry’s wife calls him the “gentlest of souls.” 9/22 Slayer Returns Slayer play their first concert in five years at Riot Fest in Chicago’s Douglass Park. “South Of Heaven” is the opener for the 20-song set. 9/25 Heart’s Ann Wilson Finishes Chemo Heart’s Ann Wilsom reveals that she’s finished chemotherapy and ready to prepare for the band’s rescheduled 2025 Royal Flush tour. 9/25 Billie Joe Armstrong Rant Gets Green Day Dropped   Upset the Oakland A’s are relocating to Las Vegas in ’28, the East Bay native and Green Day frontman launches into a rant during a San Francisco concert dissing Las Vegas. As a result, a pair of Vegas radio stations (KOMP-FM and KXTE-FM) decide to remove Green Day from their rotations saying, “good riddance.” 9/25 Tom Morello Receives Guthrie Award The Rage Against The Machine guitarist/social activist receives the Woody Guthrie Prize at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK.  The annual award recognizes a recipient who embodies the spirit of Folk singer/songwriter Woody Guthrie’s social consciousness and musical legacy. 9/26 Ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist Arraigned Josh Kinghoffer is arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence in relation to the March 18th incident in Alhambra, CA that left one person dead. He does not attend and pleads not guilty through his lawyer. 9/27 Daughtry: Shock To The System (Part One) The EP features the lead single, “The Reckoning.” “(The song) is about that moment in life when you realize that you are in control of your own destiny,” stated frontman Chris Daughtry.  9/27 Richie Kotzen: Nomad “I really never know how, when or where inspiration will strike for a song idea,” explained guitarist/singer Kotzen. “I never try to force anything because I know ultimately at some point in time life will hand you a situation and for a guy like myself that is the perfect spark.” The set contains the tracks Featuring the tracks “Cheap Shots“ and “On The Table.” 9/28 Halestorm/I Prevail’s collaboration is #1 “Can U See Me In The Dark?” is #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
