Stunning Footage Captures Meteor And Glowing Bioluminescence In A Single Shot!

To get the perfect shot, photographers and videographers develop the skill of noticing even the smallest of details. That said, some of the best photos and videos are the ones you couldn’t prepare for in a million years. Josh Gravley, a photographer and videographer in Southern California, shares his experience with the latter. While out on the water during a visit to Florida, Josh took his camera — and it’s a good thing he did! He ventured out at night, getting a gorgeous view of the starry sky. Soon enough, however, a vibrant meteor appeared… just in time for creatures below to show off the bioluminescence in the water! The timing could not have been more perfect. See for yourself in the popular video below. @joshg_photos It took everything in me to not freak out when I saw this meteor cross through my frame. I’m glad I kept my composure and was able to get fish swimming in bioluminescence in the same clip. This video is just a small glimpse of the crazy awesome stuff to see in Central Florida when condtions permit. #ocean #florida #bioluminescence #floridacheck ♬ God‘s promise – daniel.mp3 “It took everything in me to not freak out when I saw this meteor cross through my frame,” Josh admits. “I’m glad I kept my composure and was able to get fish swimming in bioluminescence in the same clip. This video is just a small glimpse of the crazy awesome stuff to see in Central Florida when conditions permit.” Timing is Everything When a Meteor and Bioluminescence Result in a Cinematic Moment If you’re unaware, bioluminescence is the ability of living organisms to create light. This is most often seen in creatures deep within the ocean. But it can also be seen on the surface when algal blooms take place. The result, as the video above shows, is breathtaking streaks of bright blue light. “This is the definition of magic,” someone in the comment section of the video shares, with another adding, “Omg this is just across the bridge from me!! I’ve never seen the bioluminescence get that bright on camera, so beautiful!!” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here! Dragon Age The Veilguard trades goofy blood for “convincing” gore

Stay awhile and listen: I have a story for you. Once upon a time, a young, definitely not 18-year-old Lauren really wanted to play Dragon Age. The slick, blood-red visuals set in contrast to the iconic pure white background caught my eye, and I scampered up to my mom with it in hand. She spotted the age rating and immediately asked the clerk behind the desk if it was "really violent." They shook their head and went "nah, there's just some blood," and, with a glance that said 'you better enjoy it,' she reluctantly handed over her bank card. Those janky blood splatters soon became a symbol for me: they represented the one violent game I ever convinced her to get me - but they're conspicuously absent in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. When was steel invented?

No one knows for sure when steel was invented, but some of the earliest examples crop up in the first millennium B.C. in Central and South Asia.

Editors’ Prepping Progress

To be prepared for a crisis, every Prepper must establish goals and make both long-term and short-term plans. In this column, the SurvivalBlog editors review their week’s prep activities and planned prep activities for the coming week. These range from healthcare and gear purchases to gardening, ranch improvements, bug-out bag fine-tuning, and food storage. This is something akin to our Retreat Owner Profiles, but written incrementally and in detail, throughout the year.  We always welcome you to share your own successes and wisdom in your e-mailed letters. We post many of those — or excerpts thereof — in the Odds … The post Editors’ Prepping Progress appeared first on SurvivalBlog.com.

A Rifle is Not Enough – Part 5, by Tunnel Rabbit

(Continued from Part 4.) Barrel Length and Effectiveness The M4 Carbine with military 14.5-inch barrels and civilian 16-inch barrels were practical for the kind of police action tactics used in the Middle East where troops regularly deployed out of vehicles and in an environment where clearing buildings was necessary. And so their gear and weapons evolved to better suit those tactics. They did however discover that when in the open in the deserts of Iraq or shooting across canyons in Afghanistan their carbines were woefully inadequate. I will justify this opinion further and later in this article. The 20-inch barrel … The post A Rifle is Not Enough – Part 5, by Tunnel Rabbit appeared first on SurvivalBlog.com.
