Recounting how the creature washed up on a beach near Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, she said: “[He] ran down to the beach with a chainsaw, cut off the whale’s head and then bungee-corded it to the roof of the family minivan for the five-hour haul back to Mount Kisco, New York. “Every time we accelerated on the highway, whale juice would pour into the windows of the car, and it was the rankest thing on the planet. We all had plastic bags over our heads with mouth holes cut out, and people on the highway were giving us the finger, but that was just normal day to day stuff for us.” Reports of the decapitation caught the attention of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, which called on federal authorities to investigate Kennedy. In a letter to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Noaa), the environmental group said Kennedy “violated the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and possibly the Endangered Species Act, by illegally cutting the head off of a dead whale in or around 1994 in Hyannis Point, Massachusetts, and bringing it to his New York house”. “The left-wing Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund resurfaced the decades-old story just days after RFK endorsed Trump, and ‘argued the dead animal was protected by the Marine Mammal Protection and Endangered Species, making it illegal to possess any part of it,'” Holden Culotta wrote. “They also argued that it was ‘likely a felony violation of the 1900 Lacey Act, ‘which prohibits the transportation of any wildlife, dead or alive, that was reduced to possession in violation of any state, federal or international regulation or law,'” he added. Kennedy Jr.’s comments came during a campaign event alongside former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard for Trump at Arizona Christian University. Kennedy endorsed Trump in August and has since been on the campaign trail urging supporters to back the former president. Kennedy told NBC News after the program that he has never killed a whale. The National Marine Fisheries Service, which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, did not immediately respond to a request for comment and confirmation Saturday night. When asked by a reporter after the campaign event for details about the investigation, Kennedy said he was “not going to talk” about the incident, but would talk about “serious policy issues.” He criticized the media as wanting to discuss “gossipy nonsense,” adding, “I’m not interested in feeding that feature of mainstream media.” After the 2012 story resurfaced last month, an environmental group urged federal officials to investigate the incident.

It was reported that Secret Service agents fired on a man they believed had a gun. Trump was not harmed and was led off the course. This comes after an assassination attempt on his life in Butler, PA on July 13. One man was killed in addition to the suspect and two others were hospitalized. Officers said during a press conference after the suspect was apprehended that the man had been in the “bushes” and that “an AK-47 style rifle with a scope, two backpacks which were hung on the fence that had ceramic tile in them, and a GoPro” had been found in the bushes.” He was about 300-500 feet away from Trump. Secret Service agents shot at the man but he fled. The local highway was shut down and he was stopped by officers and taken into custody. The FBI is investigating the incident as an assassination attempt.

Embattled acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe arrived in Florida on Monday to investigate the assassination plot against former President Donald Trump at his golf club over the weekend.  Rowe will reportedly speak with local and federal law enforcement before going to the golf course where a man with an AK-47-style rifle was able to get within 500 yards of Trump. Rowe’s visit comes as the Secret Service still faces questions about the security failures at a Pennsylvania Trump campaign rally in July when the former president was struck in his right ear by a bullet during another assassination attempt.  Ryan Routh was arrested on Sunday after authorities say a Secret Service agent spotted a gun barrel sticking out of a fence at the golf course a few holes ahead of where Trump was playing. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said he was “between 300-500 yards” away from Trump, and “with a rifle and a scope like that, that’s not a long distance.” The agent opened fire at Routh before he fled the scene, according to investigators. Routh was apprehended with the help of a witness who captured a picture of the escape vehicle. Routh, 58, has a previous weapons conviction in North Carolina and has indicated support for Democratic candidates in recent years on social media and with political donations. After this second attempt on Trump’s life, top Republican lawmakers said there were even more questions that needed to be answered. “Thanks to the swift action of Secret Service agents on the ground, President Trump was unharmed today. However, new questions present themselves and we must and we will get answers,” said Rep. Mark Green (R-TN), the chair of the House Homeland Security Committee. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), chair of the House Republican Conference,  questioned how a gunman was able to get near Trump.  “We must ask ourselves how an assassin was allowed to get this close to President Trump again? There continues to be a lack of answers for the horrific assassination attempt in Pennsylvania and we expect there to be a clear explanation of what happened today in Florida,” she said.  In addition to the FBI and Secret Service investigation, Governor Ron DeSantis said that Florida would be conducting its own probe into the incident.
