UK PREACHER attempts to educate ignorant Muslims about the righteousness of the Crusades

Look at the reaction of the Muslim smartass when you confuse him with the facts. Muslims invaded Spain in 711 and the siege of Vienna was broken in 1683. That’s nearly 1,000 years of various Muslim invaders  attempting to conquer Europe…. The crusades lasted from 1095 to 1291, so about 200 years. But where will […]

NEW: Man who shot 21-year-old gymnast Kara Welsh 8 times while she was in the fetal position said he did so because he feared for his life.

Chad Richards, 23, was arrested and charged with the murder of Welsh after she was found in an apartment.

Police say they found Richards crying in the hall while Welsh was inside the apartment.

Richards claims Welsh tried grabbing a gun from a nightstand during an "altercation," leading him to take it from her and fire at her.

At the scene, Richards told police he shot her "with the handgun because he feared for his life."

Police say ballistics evidence showed he fired multiple shots while she was in the fetal position.

In total, 11 shots were fired in the apartment. 8 of them hit Welsh.

"Kara was excited to be in her rising senior year as a gymnast at UW-Whitewater which was abruptly cut short on August 30th, by a heartless act of violence," the family's GoFundMe read.

Wegmann: Kamala Wants To Make Debate ‘Less About Policy, More About Personality’

RealClearPolitics White House reporter Phillip Wegmann told The Daily Wire before the debate on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris‘ team wants to make her first face-off with former President Donald Trump “less about policy [and] more about personality.” Wegmann, speaking to Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips at the debate venue in Philadelphia, said that Harris has been “hunkered down” for the past “three or four days” in Pennsylvania preparing for the debate with former Obama and Clinton advisers. “They want to knock Trump off of his game. They want to get him to talk less about policy, more about personality,” Wegmann added. “If they can make this debate look like that seminar for black journalists earlier this summer, where Trump was wildly gesticulating, that’s a win for them in their mind.” Heading into the debate, Trump is leaning on the advantage of being a well-known candidate and commander-in-chief while Harris’ exact policy positions are still unknown to voters, Wegmann said, citing a recent New York Times/Siena poll which showed that 87% of respondents said they already knew everything they need to know about Trump. Only 67% of voters, however, said the same of Harris. “That’s somewhat of an advantage, according to the Trump campaign, because he doesn’t have to make that introduction,” Wegmann said. “Instead, he just has to say, ‘This is Harris; this is her policy. Her policy is bad; go with me.'” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Wegmann told The Daily Wire that Trump will win the debate if he “sticks to the issues” and stays “as disciplined as he was during the second debate against Joe Biden in 2020 or the first debate against Biden in 2024.” “Harris wins if she’s able to finish the introduction,” Wegmann continued. “And also to draw a contrast with Trump, not just on policy, but on temperament and personality.” “They want to knock Donald Trump off of his game. They want to get him to talk less about policy and more about personality.”@PhilipWegmann and @cabot_phillips talk about the Harris campaign’s strategy and how Trump can win tonight’s presidential debate. pic.twitter.com/8cgpt1lCGt — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) September 10, 2024 Harris has been slammed by Republicans and the Trump campaign for refusing to reveal her policy platform after becoming the Democratic nominee. This week, Harris finally released a platform on her campaign website, where she doubled down on leftist policies. The Tuesday night debate on ABC could be the only time the two nominees face each other on stage before the election. The two candidates remain neck-and-neck in most polls, including in each of the battleground states.

American Paralympic Swimmer Takes Silver, Sets New Record 16 Months After Losing Leg To Shark

Former American collegiate swimmer Ali Truwit proves never giving up pays off after she ended up recently taking home the silver twice in the Paralympics, 16 months after she lost her leg in a shark attack. The 24-year-old swimmer competed in Paris and took home the silver in the women’s 100m backstroke S10 on September 6 and the women’s S10 400-meter freestyle, setting a new American record in the latter with a time of 4:31.39, CNN reported. “It’s a real full circle moment and speaks to the support I have all around me,” Truwit told members of the press after her race. “When you are truly faced with death and you understand what a second chance at life means, you want to make the most of it.” “Every day there is something new for me that I learn that kind of evokes a new memory from the attack,” she added. “Because I was conscious the whole time. Truthfully, at the start I thought it was going to be something where I overcame the fear and that was it.” “I have learned from this journey that that is not what this journey looks like,” Truwit continued. “That there will be days it’s great and there will be days I have to fight to get that love back. But I would say I am at 90:10 right now of really feeling comfortable and happy in the water and I am thankful to be there.” Ali Truwit is simply incredible ?#ParisParalympics pic.twitter.com/m970lHnAer — Team USA (@TeamUSA) September 5, 2024 In May 2023, Truwit was on vacation swimming in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Turks and Caicos when she was attacked by the shark. She managed to fight off the animal and then swim some 70 meters to a boat before she was airlifted to the hospital, CNN noted. “I think it was survival instinct. It was a terrible day, it’s a terrible memory. It was shocking, terrifying, but I am alive, I am here and I am going to make the most of it,” Truwit said. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Doctors were able to save her life, but the swimmer ended up losing her foot and part of her leg in the attack. She underwent three surgeries and six months later, she got back in the water and now is a two-time silver medalist. Truwit couldn’t have gotten where she is today without that persistence, but credits those closest to her, her friends and family, with helping her make it. “Sophie, who was in the water with me and tied the tourniquet on my leg and saved my life, is in the stands, as well as Hannah, who was the one who was in medical school rotation at the trauma hospital I was airlifted to,” Truwit said after the race. “I am so lucky for them and all the others in the stands.” “I think my parents have done an incredible job raising me and my three brothers to be adaptable, to try and look for the positives in life and appreciate all we have been given,” she added. “So, when I was faced with a life-changing trauma, I worked to see the positive and focus on gratitude and let that carry me.” Related: U.S. Wraps Up Olympic Swimming With Another Gold Medal And A New World Record

Clean energy investment doubles that of fossil fuels, helped by US rural electrification efforts

BY THE OPTIMIST DAILY EDITORIAL TEAM Global investment in clean energy is expected to hit new highs in 2024, nearly double the amount spent on fossil fuels. Despite economic constraints and greater financing costs, the clean energy sector is benefiting from improved supply chains and lower costs for renewable technology, according to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) most recent World Energy Investment report. Total global energy investment is expected to exceed $3 trillion for the first time, with $2 trillion going toward sustainable energy solutions. Meanwhile, large investments in rural sustainable energy projects in the United States are accelerating the change. Clean energy takes the lead The IEA research underlines a crucial milestone: in 2023, investment in renewable power and grids will surpass fossil fuels for the first time. This trend will continue in 2024, with $2 trillion going into clean technologies such as renewables, electric vehicles, nuclear power, energy storage, and efficiency improvements. “Clean energy investment is setting new records even in challenging economic conditions,” stated IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol. “For every dollar going to fossil fuels today, almost two dollars are invested in clean energy.” This rise, fueled by strong economic and environmental incentives, represents a shift in global priorities. The Biden-Harris administration’s $7.3 billion investment in rural clean energy projects across 23 U.S. states reflects this global trend. These measures, announced through the Empowering Rural America (New ERA) program, represent the greatest rural electrification endeavor since President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal in the 1930s, which delivered electricity to underserved rural communities. Historic US investment in rural clean energy The New ERA program aims to provide clean, cheap energy to rural regions while also creating jobs and lowering emissions. “Today’s awards will bring clean, affordable, reliable power to rural Americans all across our nation,” said John Podesta, senior advisor for international climate policy.  The 16 projects sponsored by the administration’s Investing in America initiative would create more than 10 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy, including solar, wind, nuclear, and hydropower. These projects are estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 43.7 million tons per year, which is equivalent to removing ten million cars from the road. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), these initiatives will directly help 20 percent of farms, rural homes, schools, and businesses in the United States, cutting energy prices and improving electric grid reliability. “This is the largest investment in rural electrification since FDR and the New Deal,” he remarked. “One in five rural Americans will benefit from these clean energy investments.” Solar power leads the way Solar photovoltaic (PV) technology continues to drive the global clean energy transformation. Investment in solar PV is predicted to reach $500 billion by 2024, exceeding spending on all other energy generation technologies combined. With continuous cost reductions in solar modules, the industry is poised for a surge of new investment, particularly in China, which accounts for the majority of global clean energy spending. The New ERA program is also driving solar power expansion, providing 4,377 megawatts (MW) of solar energy to rural American towns. These initiatives, together with wind, nuclear, and hydropower developments, will boost energy security while creating over 20,000 jobs. Disparities in emerging markets Despite the global trend, the IEA analysis identifies significant disparities in renewable energy investment by location. While China, Europe, and the United States dominate the renewable energy scene, investment in emerging and developing economies—excluding China—is still low. Clean energy spending in these regions is likely to top $300 billion for the first time, yet this still represents just 15 percent of the worldwide total. The high cost of funding continues to stymie the expansion of new projects in many developing nations, where access to inexpensive and sustainable energy is crucial. “More must be done to ensure that investment reaches the places where it is needed most, in particular the developing economies where access to affordable, sustainable, and secure energy is severely lacking today,” Birol said. Oil and gas investment is still rising While clean energy remains a hot topic, investment in fossil fuels is not declining. Global upstream oil and gas investment is expected to increase by seven percent in 2024, reaching $570 billion, primarily driven by national oil corporations in the Middle East and Asia. According to the research, coal investment is increasing, with over 50 gigawatts of new coal-fired power projects approved in 2023—the highest level since 2015. Despite these gains, fossil fuel investment still falls short of clean energy spending, reflecting a broader worldwide shift toward sustainable alternatives. Accelerating the clean energy transition The increase in renewable energy investment represents a watershed point in the global energy transition, and significant programs such as the Biden-Harris administration’s New ERA program are aiding rural and underprivileged communities. However, considerable problems persist, particularly in emerging economies where renewable energy investment lags. As the world transitions to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future, guaranteeing equal access to these investments will be critical to achieving climate targets and ensuring global energy security. The post Clean energy investment doubles that of fossil fuels, helped by US rural electrification efforts first appeared on The Optimist Daily: Making Solutions the News.

6 simple ways to rebuild your routine following the summer break

BY THE OPTIMIST DAILY EDITORIAL TEAM Building a daily routine is about more than just getting things done; it’s also about boosting your general health. Routines can help you manage stress, get better sleep, and live a healthier lifestyle. Or, as Lisa Jeffs, a life coach based in Miami says, “Routines make things in your life so much easier, allowing you to move through your day with much more ease.” Routines can even give you the mental space you need to tackle more difficult tasks, such as strategic thinking or sorting issues out with relatives. However, after a summer of relaxed schedules, vacations, and time off, getting back into a routine can be tough. Don’t worry, getting on track is easier than you think. Here are six simple suggestions to help you restructure your routine for the fall and beyond. 1. Keep it simple A typical mistake people make is attempting to achieve too much, too quickly. Whether you’re starting a new fitness plan or restructuring your entire week, do it slowly. Jeffs recommends working on one habit at a time.  “I know it can be very appealing, especially for high achievers, to want to overhaul their entire life,” she says. “However, one routine at a time allows you to master that routine. Allow it to become a habit, because once it’s a habit, it becomes so much easier.” By simplifying your approach and gradually incorporating new habits, you’re more likely to stick with them in the long run. 2. Give yourself reminders Before a habit becomes second nature, it’s easy to forget about it completely. Help yourself by creating reminders. These can take many forms, such as preparing the ingredients for a healthy breakfast before going to bed the night before, putting sticky notes on your bathroom mirror, or using your phone’s reminder app. The goal is to discover a system that suits you. These small reminders will help you stay on track, especially in the early stages of developing new habits. 3. Lower the barriers Another benefit of setting reminders is that it may help you complete your chores more efficiently. You’re less likely to skip your routine if you make it easier to start. “You want to make sure that you understand your own energy levels and play into those energy levels,” Jeffs explains.” “If you are someone who wakes up in a groggy state, you want to make sure everything is laid out the night before.” For example, if you intend to run in the morning, set out your training gear before going to bed. This little preparation might help you stay on track with your goals. 4. Be flexible and patient Give yourself some grace if you make a mistake or miss a day. According to a 2021 study, a new habit takes approximately 59 days to become second nature. It’s unrealistic to expect perfection quickly, especially following a summer break. “Be kind to yourself,” Jeffs advises. “Habits take time, and there will be days where you might not feel like following through. The important thing is to stay patient and not give up.” Of course, you should hold yourself accountable, but don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss a day once in a while. 5. Reward yourself Positive reinforcement is very effective in helping you stay in a new routine. Jeffs advocates creating a reward system to keep you motivated. “What is something that you are going to be motivated by to continue this routine?” she’s asking. “Is it going to be purchasing something? Is it going to be a night out somewhere? Is it going to be an outfit? Make sure that your reward is something you actually want and desire.” Celebrating your tiny accomplishments will give you the motivation to keep going. 6. Do not let the routine slip again Once you’ve reestablished your pattern, keep to it regardless of the season. Jeffs cautions against abandoning your routine during holidays or vacations since this might result in a tiresome cycle of starting and stopping. “If you need to change it, I recommend modifying the routine to fit into your holiday or a new season,” she says. “But don’t cut it out completely. Consistency is key to getting the results you want.” Maintaining even a modified version of your regimen will help you stay on track and prevent you from slipping into old habits. Small steps lead to big changes Rebuilding your routine after summer does not have to be difficult. Starting small, being patient, and celebrating yourself along the way will help you transition back to a productive and healthy lifestyle. And, as Jeffs says, “Routines make life easier”—so take it one step at a time and reap the rewards of a more structured and enjoyable day.The post 6 simple ways to rebuild your routine following the summer break first appeared on The Optimist Daily: Making Solutions the News.
