During an appearance on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” Kristen Welker asked Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) if he thinks Kamala Harris should support a mandatory gun buyback program. “Should she also be, in your opinion, supporting a mandatory gun buyback program?” Welker asked. “We’re not going to be able to get where we need to go without action in Congress,” Warnock responded. Welker pressed the Democratic senator for a yes or no answer to her question. “Senator, yes or no though, should she support the mandatory buyback program?” she asked. “Just a yes or no,” she added. Warnock danced around the question without providing a yes or no. “As a pastor, I’ve done buyback programs. You can pick this issue or that issue. But I think, again, there’s not one single thing that will make all of this go away,” he said. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) on Sunday took aim at some politicians whom he described as “beholden to the gun lobby” while lamenting his frustrations about gun violence in the wake of last week’s school shooting at a Georgia high school. “The reality is that in America, it’s not safe to be in our schools. It’s not safe to be in our shopping malls. It’s not safe to be in the spa. It’s not safe to be in a medical clinic. We’re all sitting ducks,” Warnock said on NBC News’s “Meet the Press.” And any country that allows this to continue without putting forward just common-sense gun safety measures is a country that has, in a tragic way, lost its way. Politicians need to realign their values.” Warnock said there is “no one single law” to prevent school shootings when asked by NBC News anchor Kristen Welker. Kamala Harris on Monday pledged that, if elected President, she would take executive action enacting sweeping gun control measures if Congress fails to send comprehensive legislation to her desk in her first 100 days. “Enough,” says the fact sheet outlining the proposals that the campaign plans to unveil publicly tomorrow. “We’re not waiting any longer.” The pledge by Harris to act unilaterally by executive action sharpens her repeated calls on the campaign trail, blasting Congress for failing to act on gun violence, especially mass shootings. Last weekend at her town hall in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Harris told the crowd, “It is a false choice to suggest you are either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away. We need leaders in Washington, D.C., who have the courage to speak the truth.” The plan, as outlined in her proposal, aims to move closer to federal universal background checks, a first-step move the campaign calls “mandated near-universal background checks.” The campaign says this 100-day pledge is just part of the gun safety agenda Harris will pursue as President.

That man is 23-year-old Enrique Ramirez Cabrera from Manassas. He’s been charged with abduction, robbery, impersonating a police officer and petit larceny. FOX News reports that Ramirez Cabrera is allegedly a Peruvian illegal immigrant who was caught at the Arizona border last December and released into the U.S. “This horrific crime is a direct result of Kamala Harris putting her political agenda above the safety of American citizens. When officers arrived, they learned an unidentified man driving a red Jeep SUV – possibly a Patriot or Commander – approached the teenager as she was walking to school on Clover Hill Road. The girl alleged that the suspect identified himself as a police officer and told her to get into the vehicle. He then allegedly exited the vehicle, grabbed the teenager’s arm, put her in the front passenger seat and drove away. Once the suspect reached Quarry Road, the girl was able to get out of the vehicle, she told police.

During Macy’s latest earnings call, chief financial officer Adrian Mitchell said that the company is ‘very pleased with the progress’ that it is making in selling off its bricks and mortar stores to landlords and developers. ‘We’re very pleased with the value we’re able to unlock in those deals and those transactions,’ he said. The company appointed a new CEO, Tony Spring, earlier this year, who announced a major turnaround effort. These stores are reportedly set to close after the winter holidays. “The biggest things that have gone wrong at Macy’s are the quality of the stores and the product assortment,” GlobalData Retail analyst Neil Saunders said to the outlet. “And so over the years customers have deserted it, sales have tumbled and store productivity has gone down. All the metrics have gone in the wrong direction.” News of these closures comes shortly after Macy’s announced that it was diverting funds to its in-house brands in yet another effort to turn the proverbial ship around. According to TheStreet, the shop has resurrected or introduced a number of other brands, including On 34th and State of Day, as part of its rehabilitation drive. It plans to launch a men’s collection before the end of the year, and a new kids’ brand will follow next. But Macy’s significant rebrand goes beyond simply bringing back well-known brands. The mall mainstay is purportedly concentrating more on its well-known high-margin luxury products in an attempt to attract customers with a little more disposable income.
