An active shooter situation in Kentucky has forced the closure of an interstate. “Numerous law enforcement agencies are responding to an active shooter situation on I-75 near exit 49 in London, Kentucky. Reports indicate numerous people have been shot, though the exact number of who have been shot is unknown at this time,” Rawsalerts wrote. “There are also unconfirmed reports of a possible sniper in the woods targeting vehicles. The suspect remains at large, and police scanners suggest there may be multiple suspects tho[ugh] this is still ongoing and unconfirmed at this time,” the post continued. “Law enforcement has closed the interstate in both directions at exit 49 and is urging everyone to avoid the area. Emergency services are on the scene, and a large police presence is expected. The Facebook post, made around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, says “numerous” people have been shot. The shutdown is near Exit 49 and U.S. Route 25, about nine miles north of London, according to officials. Laurel County is about 90 miles south of Lexington in Eastern Kentucky. It has a population of about 62,000 and includes part of the Daniel Boone National Forest. “Please avoid I-75 around Ext 49. Until further notice! Use alternative route do not be any where in that area! I almost NEVER hear him say anything about Jesus, but he LOVES talking about social justice, Muslims, illegal immigrants and basically any Far-Left social cause you can think of. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” It appears as though the Pope has never read any of those, or simply prefers his own teaching over that of Jesus. The meeting at the mosque showed the personal side of the policy, with Francis and Umar — the 87-year-old pope and the 65-year-old imam — showing a clear affinity for one another. I don’t really recall Jesus speaking too much of “tolerance”. He spoke of love your neighbor, absolutely, but not really tolerance. In fact, he spoke much more about stuff like this: 1. Matthew 10:34-36 (NIV) “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’” In this verse, Jesus emphasizes that His message will cause division, even within families, due to differing beliefs and commitments to His teachings. 2. Luke 12:51-53 (NIV) “Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Similar to Matthew 10:34-36, this verse in Luke reiterates the concept of division that Jesus’ presence and teachings will bring, even among close relatives. 3. Matthew 10:37-39 (NIV) “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Here, Jesus explains that loyalty to Him must come before all other relationships, which can cause division if family members do not share the same devotion. 4. John 7:43 (NIV) “Thus the people were divided because of Jesus.” This verse refers to the division among the Jewish people regarding Jesus’ identity and teachings. Some believed in Him, while others rejected Him, creating division among them. 5. John 9:16 (NIV) “Some of the Pharisees said, ‘This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.’ But others asked, ‘How can a sinner perform such signs?’ So they were divided.” This verse highlights the division among religious leaders about Jesus, emphasizing that His presence and actions would cause division, not just among families, but also within communities and religious circles.

cairo — Three Lebanese paramedics were killed and two others wounded, one critically, in an Israeli attack while they were extinguishing fires in the southern town of Faroun, Lebanon's health ministry said on Saturday.  "Israeli forces targeted a team from the Lebanese Civil Defense as they responded to fires sparked by recent Israeli airstrikes," a ministry statement said, specifying that the strike hit a fire truck.  The Israeli military said: "Earlier today, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) struck and eliminated terrorists from the Amal terrorist organization that operated within a Hezbollah military structure in the area of Froun in southern Lebanon."  Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack as a violation of international law and announced an emergency meeting on Monday with Western ambassadors and international organizations to address the ongoing hostilities.  "To date, because of Israel's aggression, 25 paramedics from various ambulance teams have been killed, along with two health workers, and 94 paramedics and health workers have been injured," the health ministry statement added.  The health ministry also condemned the attack as a "blatant strike" on an official Lebanese state apparatus, marking the second such attack on an emergency team in less than 12 hours.  Hezbollah issued a statement, saying it launched a "squadron of missiles" in response to the Faroun attack, targeting an Israeli military headquarters, causing casualties.   Around 140 civilians have been killed by Israeli bombardment of Lebanon since October 8, when hostilities broke out between the Israeli military and Hezbollah in parallel with the war in Gaza.  The intensity of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has ratcheted up steadily, displacing tens of thousands of people on either side of the Lebanese Israeli frontier.  According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, between October 8, 2023, and August 26, at least 133 civilians have been killed. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the total number of casualties stands at 2,412, including 564 fatalities.
