The mainstream media has been working overtime to turn Donald Trump’s recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery into some sort of scandal. He was there to mark the anniversary of the death of 13 U.S. service members killed during the Biden administration’s botched troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris bothered to show up. When an anonymous source claimed that a member of Trump’s team had an altercation with a cemetery official, Trump critics saw it as the ammunition they needed to disparage his appearance at the site. After Harris joined in on the backlash, Trump decided to respond via social media. According to the Daily Wire: NPR was first to report that two members of Trump’s campaign “had a verbal and physical altercation … with an official at Arlington National Cemetery” as the former president attended a wreath-laying ceremony for 13 U.S. service members killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal. “There was no conflict or ‘fighting’ at Arlington National Cemetery last week. It was a made up story by Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad,” Trump posted on social media on Tuesday. “She made it all up to make up for the fact that she and Sleepy Joe have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS for the INCOMPETENT AFGHANISTAN Withdrawal – THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY!!!” “They should have been at Arlington, not on a beach or studying for a Debate. I get a lot of publicity,” the former president said. “I would like to get a lot less publicity. I’m the only guy that would hire a public relations agency to get less publicity.” He also noted he was invited to visit the cemetery and take photos with the families of those killed during the withdrawal. Now, we are demanding to know reasons why the Biden administration is releasing criminal illegal aliens in U.S. prisons directly into the interior, rather than deporting them back to their country of origin. This reckless scheme could have disastrous and serious repercussions, and the American people deserve to know.” After the administration failed to respond to the request, Attorney General Moody filed a complaint for injunctive relief and to compel production of documents in federal district court. The complaint reads in part, “Historically, when illegal aliens were brought to the U.S. to be prosecuted for their crimes, it was well understood that the aliens would be deported once they have served their sentence. The complaint argues that the administration’s policies represent a significant departure from past practices, where criminal aliens were typically deported upon completing their sentences. It highlights a recent incident in Colorado, where armed gang members allegedly took over an apartment complex, using it as a base for criminal activities. Moody’s lawsuit suggests this is just one example of the chaos and crime resulting from the administration’s immigration policies. The complaint further alleges that the administration’s decision to release these criminals into the U.S. could have far-reaching and dangerous consequences for American communities.
