Aha, The Attack Of The Green Slimebeast, featuring Tony Levin and three members of The Mothers Of Invention, only ever played one show, but it was a memorable one, involving gunpowder, a sex toy and a near-naked Danny DeVito

The World’s Oldest Person Has Died at 117, but Not without Leaving Behind Words of Wisdom

Maria Branyas Morera, the world's oldest person, has died at 117, but not without leaving behind words of wisdom. Maria often spoke about the virtues that shaped her long life, crediting them to personal discipline and Godly guidance. “Order, tranquility, contact with nature, emotional stability, no worries, no regrets,” she wrote. These are gifts from God, who had walked with her every step of the way. She believed that her longevity was not merely a result of her choices but a reflection of the strength and wisdom God had instilled in her. Maria passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 19th, after 117 years of a life deeply rooted in faith. Maria's journey was one marked by God's grace, with each day a testament to the wisdom and strength she believed He bestowed upon her. Maria's faith also allowed her to see the world as it truly was, without sugar-coating its challenges. She spoke openly about the struggles of aging, especially the rise of dementia, viewing it as not just a health crisis but a spiritual one. “The great heritage of the old is the world of memory. We are our memories,” she tweeted, emphasizing the importance of cherishing and preserving the life experiences God had granted each person. Maria Was Concerned About Society’s Focus On Material Possessions Maria was also concerned about society's increasing focus on material possessions. “Today, the emphasis on money and material things is too great,” she said. Through the lens of her beautiful life, we must remember that true wealth comes from God's blessings, not from the things we accumulate. What an insightful perspective. Most Agents Assigned To Protect Trump At Butler Rally Only Received ‘2 Hour Online Training,’ Sen. Hawley Says

Whistleblowers have warned Congress that federal agents reassigned to protective candidate details, including former President Donald Trump‘s, were “egregiously under-prepared.” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) claimed in an X post on Tuesday that Homeland Security personnel had been “thrown onto Trump’s protective detail with nothing more than a 2hr online training” at the July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a 20-year-old man attempted to assassinate the former president. During a Fox News interview, Hawley said, “Think about this: This former president of the US…is sent out on stage, most of the people there are not trained, they’re not qualified. They only got a webinar training and even that didn’t work.” Hawley sent a letter to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe on Tuesday detailing new claims about Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents that partner with the Secret Service. He said the recent allegations “suggest that a significant number of personnel tasked with providing security for former President Trump at the July 13 rally were egregiously under-prepared by the Secret Service to carry out this mission.” “When Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents partner with the Secret Service, they should be properly trained. New whistleblower allegations contend that this isn’t happening…,” Hawley wrote.    ??NEW – My letter to Secret Service Director Rowe detailing new whistleblower allegations that Homeland Security agents working the Butler Trump rally received only “webinar” training beforehand pic.twitter.com/KQZbgDf7Rs — Josh Hawley (@HawleyMO) September 4, 2024 The Missouri Republican added that a whistleblower told him “that the only training received by many HSI agents reassigned to work protective details is a two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams featuring pre-recorded videos.”   “Imagine 1,000 people logging onto Microsoft Teams at the same time after being informed at the last minute that everyone needed to login individually,” a whistleblower said, according to Hawley. “Once it got rolling, the Secret Service instructor couldn’t figure out how to get the audio working on the prerecorded videos (which I’m told are the same videos as last year). All told, they restarted the videos approximately six times …. The content was not helpful.” The agents assigned to President Trump in Butler PA were pulled off child exploitation cases and thrown onto Trump’s protective detail with nothing more than a 2hr online training. And we know this ONLY because of brave whistleblowers pic.twitter.com/m8CY5eqmUl — Josh Hawley (@HawleyMO) September 4, 2024 Hawley added in his letter that “these latest whistleblower allegations contend HSI agents were pulled off child exploitation cases in order to serve on protective details for which they were unprepared.”  Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Lawmakers continue to investigate the Secret Service’s handling of the Butler rally as questions remain about what caused the massive security failures.

Florida Surgeon Sued for Fatal Error After Mistakenly Removing Patient’s Liver

A Florida surgeon is facing a lawsuit after a tragic surgical mistake led to the death of a patient. The incident occurred at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital in Miramar Beach, where Dr. Gregory Shaknovsky, a surgeon with a troubling history, allegedly removed the liver of 70-year-old William Bryan, mistaking it for his spleen. The procedure, which was meant to address a suspected spleen abnormality, resulted in Bryan’s death on the operating table, leaving his wife, Beverly Bryan, devastated and determined to seek justice. William Bryan, a visitor to Florida, had been admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain. Following a series of tests, doctors diagnosed him with an abnormal spleen and recommended surgery. Despite initial hesitations, Bryan and his wife were convinced by Dr. Shaknovsky and the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Christopher Bacani, that immediate surgery was necessary. However, the operation took a catastrophic turn when Dr. Shaknovsky mistakenly removed Bryan’s liver, leaving the spleen untouched. https://x.com/dubblecounter/status/1830968968846422034 The error was not discovered until after Bryan’s death, when it was confirmed that the removed organ was, in fact, his liver. Beverly Bryan has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Shaknovsky and Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital, accusing them of gross negligence and medical malpractice. The lawsuit alleges that the hospital and its staff failed to take necessary precautions, especially considering Dr. Shaknovsky’s concerning history of surgical errors. T https://x.com/EdinamNkunu/status/1830872506716066291 his was not the first time the surgeon had been involved in a serious medical mishap. In 2023, he reportedly removed part of a patient’s pancreas instead of performing the intended adrenal gland resection, raising serious questions about his competence. The case has drawn significant attention due to the severity of the mistake and the ongoing concerns about Dr. Shaknovsky’s fitness to practice medicine. Beverly Bryan, through her attorney Joe Zarzaur, is seeking both criminal and civil penalties against the surgeon and the hospital. Zarzaur, a board-certified civil trial attorney, emphasized that the goal of the lawsuit is not only to seek justice for the Bryan family but also to prevent such a tragedy from happening to others. He stated, “My husband died while helpless on the operating room table by Dr. Shaknovsky. I don’t want anyone else to die due to his incompetence at a hospital that should have known or knew he had previously made drastic, life-altering surgical mistakes.” The lawsuit is likely to have broader implications, as it highlights the issue of medical malpractice and the importance of accountability in healthcare. Dr. Shaknovsky is currently under investigation by the hospital and state medical boards, with the potential for further legal action depending on the outcomes of these inquiries. The case also underscores the need for stricter oversight and more rigorous competency checks for surgeons, particularly those with a history of errors. As the legal proceedings continue, the Bryan family hopes that their pursuit of justice will bring about necessary changes in the medical field, ensuring that other families do not have to endure the same heartbreaking loss. The lawsuit is still in its early stages, and it remains to be seen what penalties, if any, will be imposed on Dr. Shaknovsky and Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast Hospital.
