Why Government Can’t Build Broadband or Charging Stations…Or Anything!

Government excels at NOT getting things done. But politicians promise more things anyway. Kamala Harris declared that our government would “build thousands of miles of fiber-optic cable!” This “Broadband Connectivity Agenda” was supported by “every House Republican on Energy and Commerce,” write Republican representatives. Three years later, not a single person has been connected. Why? Because, as Milton Friedman put it, “Few people spend other people’s money as carefully as they spend their own.” Private individuals and businesses constantly adjust to save time and money. But politicians, spending your money, have little interest in that. They routinely add rules that make everything take longer. You have to “hire certain people based on their color, their sex,” complains investor Matt Cole in my new video. “You already have a talent problem, now you’re looking at only being able to recruit from a very small minority of individuals. Then you have to do climate pledges. Then you have to hire from unions.” “But diversity is good,” I push back. “That doesn’t mean that you should hire someone because of their race or skin color ... You have all these companies that could actually (build broadband), but its unimplementable with the restrictions. They just walk away.” Eventually, I assume the government will install at least some broadband. By then, their cables may be unnecessary, because of satellite internet, like Starlink, which doesn’t require digging up streets. “They could do it literally today,” says Cole. “You could have devices in these people’s homes within the next couple of months.” Why don’t government officials do that? At first, Biden bureaucrats said, “Starlink failed to demonstrate that it had the technical and financial ability.” When it became clear that Starlink obviously did, the administration suddenly called it a monopoly. The FCC chair sneered, “Our economy doesn’t benefit from monopolies.” “First, they’re not functional, now it’s a monopoly,” says Cole. “The reality is, they didn’t want that to be the solution.” Didn’t want it to be because Biden Democrats didn’t want to give money to Elon Musk. Now Musk has a friend in government. Maybe things will change. But government giving contracts to friends is not good policy. It’s also not a smart way to get things built. Government pumped billions into “high-speed rail.” Fifteen years later, they’re still talking about the future. Bureaucrats wasted $500 million of your money on the solar company Solyndra, which then went bankrupt. They wasted millions more trying and failing to create “synthetic fuel.” More recently, Biden doled out $7 billion to build 500,000 EV charging stations. Two years later, they’ve built seven. Republicans joined Democrats in funding a CHIPS Act, meant to bring chipmaker jobs to America. It isn’t working. Most chips are still made in Taiwan. “Even if they get what they promise,” I point out to Cole, Congress appropriated “$53 billion for 115,000 promised jobs. Almost half a million dollars per job!” “You expect nothing else from government,” he replies. With Republicans in charge, some say things will be better. But the problem isn’t just Democrats; it’s government. Trump’s steel tariffs destroyed American jobs by raising the price of steel. Politicians should just stop subsidizing certain businesses. Maybe Elon Musk will convince Trump to do that. He’s actually tweeted the U.S. should “remove subsidies from all industries,” including his own! Good for him. That would be great. End the $30 billion handed to Big Agriculture, useless subsidies for “clean” energy, government-guaranteed loans politically to connected businesses, etc. Maybe Trump will end that part of the Deep State. But I won’t hold my breath. Once politicians are in power, they always want to do more. With your money.

Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat Review 2024: Pros and Cons of This Interactive Feeder

Click to Skip Ahead Overview Our Experience Pros & Cons Key Features About Messy Mutts Is It Good Value? FAQ Our Final Verdict We give Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat a rating of 4.85 out of 5 stars. Quality: 4.9/5 Effectiveness: 4.8/5 Ease of Use: 4.8/5 Value: 4.9/5 Check Price on Messy Mutts Are you looking for a fun and simple way to enrich your dog’s dining experience? Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat is a great option for many dogs. This quality snuffle mat makes it easy to turn dinner time into playtime. The deep folds and endless hiding places allow dogs to use their nose to find their food, engaging the brain, slowing their pace, and providing some fun challenges to their otherwise straightforward mealtimes. Best of all, it’s machine washable, easy to use, and comes with some neat features that other snuffle mats don’t. My Chihuahua, Papyrus, and I had the opportunity to test out this colorful snuffle mat. Find out what makes this enrichment feeder different from others and if it’s the right choice for your pup by reading my full Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat review, below. Overview Check Price on Messy Mutts Product Type: Enrichment feeder Best Suited For: Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and rodents not prone to chewing on soft things Price Range: Moderately priced Contents: One snuffle mat Specs: Base is 9 inches by 9 inches, total length with fringe is about 15 inches Options: None Difficulty Level: Easy Cleaning: Machine wash cold, tumble dry Our Experience Check Price on Messy Mutts I first discovered snuffle mats while my dogs and I were at a friend’s house. My Chihuahua, Papyrus, was immediately enamored with her dog’s snuffle mat. He spent an hour sniffing around that clump of fleece digging out all the treats her dog had failed to find. I knew I had to find a snuffle mat of my own for Papyrus. At fifteen, he can’t walk as far as he used to, so giving him enough enrichment to calm his mind can be a challenge. I figured an enrichment feeder like this one would be perfect to keep him busy, especially on those cold Colorado days when he’s trapped inside. I chose the Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat because it’s not too big and is machine washable. And I know from previous experience that this company makes quality products. As soon as it arrived, I took it out of the packaging and filled it with treats so Papyrus could test it out. What We Liked This snuffle mat works very much like the first one we encountered. It has strips of fleece about 4 inches long and ¾ inch wide. These pieces are sewn into the base, forming a dense layer of hiding places that the dog must push their muzzles into to get the treats or kibble out. The fleece pieces are soft and easy to maneuver, even for my dog’s tiny muzzle. They are well-secured to the base, which is important to prevent overeager dogs from pulling them out to get at the food below. I am also a big fan of the size of this mat. It is nice and compact but still has plenty of surface area to accommodate up to about a cup of food. It is the perfect size for my seven-pound Chihuahua but also works well for my 30-pound Dalmatian mix. This smaller size also makes it easier to store. I am also a big fan of the color! The orange, teal, and gray scheme is cheerful without being too loud. Of course, the most important factor is how well it entertains. And this, it does very well! It takes Papyrus about ten minutes to extract a small handful of treats from it and about half an hour to eat a full meal’s worth of kibble. Another major plus about this snuffle mat is that it’s machine washable. I found out why this is so important that day at my friend’s house. After the dogs played with the mat for a while we discovered that it had maggots crawling around in it! The greasy kibble residue had built up over time and provided flies a place to lay eggs. Eww! Luckily, I can ensure that doesn’t happen to my Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat by tossing it in the washer regularly. Where We Saw Room for Improvement This mat has four large suction cups on the bottom to help keep it in place. This is important if your dog is clever enough to pick the mat up and shake it or flip it over to get the treats out. Unfortunately, the suction cups only work well on very flat surfaces like granite tiles. Most of my flooring is slightly textured vinyl plank. The suction cups only stick to this for about five seconds before coming unstuck. Beyond this issue, I don’t have any other complaints about this mat. It provides wonderful enrichment for my food-motivated Chihuahua and makes his meals last much longer to keep him feeling satiated. It’s easy to use, easy to care for, and provides a much more enriching feeding experience than a boring old bowl. Pros & Cons Pros Easy to use Well-made Machine washable Compact size Fun colors Cons Not the strongest suctions cups Key Features Check Price on Messy Mutts How to Use This snuffle mat is super easy to use. It works well with hard and soft treats as well as kibble and freeze-dried food. Although, if you opt for those, remember to be extra careful with the cleaning. For best results, I recommend using small treats or kibbles that can be easily buried in the fleece. Pour the treats or kibble over the top of the mat, then use your fingers to ruffle up the strips and shake the kibbles deeper into the fabric. Then secure the mat to the floor and let your pup get sniffing! How to Care For The soft surfaces of these kinds of enrichment feeders mean they do require some special care. Luckily, this Round Forage Mat from Messy Mutts makes it easy. When your dog finishes using the mat, be sure to shake out any remaining treats. This will help keep the mat cleaner between uses and avoid attracting bugs. Remember to be careful and avoid bacterial contamination and health-related problems by regularly washing this mat on cold in your washing machine. On the plus side, this mat is also dryer-friendly, although hang drying is recommended for durability. What Makes It Different There are a few key differences between this mat and other snuffle mats I’ve tried. For one, it is very well made, which means it won’t fall apart even if your dog digs or pulls at it. This mat is also pretty dense compared to most. The long strips of fleece provide more hiding places for food and make the dog work harder to find it. The suction cups on the bottom and the tightly woven base help add stability. And the compact size makes it easy to store. And of course, it is machine washable for easy care. About Messy Mutts Check Price on Messy Mutts Messy Mutts has been making functional and fabulous-looking pet products that help reduce pet mess since 2014. Manufacturing: Designed in Canada, made in China Warranty: One-year manufacturer warranty Shipping: Free shipping on orders over $50 Other Products: Slow feeders, puzzle feeders, travel accessories, grooming products, and more Is Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat a Good Value? The price range for snuffle mats is fairly wide, with cheaper options often available under $10. However, quality mats like this one tend to be priced in the upper twenty-dollar range. Messy Mutts Round Forage Mat costs less than this, making it a great value. How We Tested I tested this snuffle mat with the help of my Chihuahua, Papyrus. My larger dog, Ragz, also got in on the testing process to ensure this mat can stand up to dogs both big and small. I started out by using this as any owner would, by adding treats! I tested it using a variety of treat types and kibble sizes. During this time, I made sure to note the effectiveness of the different features. While my dogs used the mat, I timed how long they kept at it before they gave up, got bored, or finished. Luckily, they never called it quits before all the food was gone. I also washed the mat a few times to make sure it could stand up to the process. In the same vein, I made notes about its durability as my dogs played with it. Check Price on Messy Mutts Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What are the benefits of using this snuffle mat? Snuffle mats like this one increase enrichment, improve digestion by slowing feeding, and provide stress relief. Who might benefit from this snuffle mat? Anxious and hyperactive dogs can benefit from using interactive feeders like this one. Older dogs with cognitive disorders can also benefit from this stimulating feeding solution. Are there any other sizes available? No, this is the only option for this type of mat. However, Messy Mutts offers many other interactive feeding options including a forage/snuffle mat that includes a ruffle area as well as a licking pad and hidey-holes. Conclusion If you’ve been considering a snuffle mat for your dog, I highly suggest looking into the Round Forage Mat from Messy Mutts. This well-made interactive feeder is compact while providing plenty of hiding spaces for kibble and treats. It’s machine washable, easy to care for, and comes with great extra features like suction cups and a sturdy base for added stability. 5Strands Pet Intolerances and Imbalances Test Review 2024: Investigate Your Pet’s Health Problems With This At-Home Test

Click to Skip Ahead Overview Our Experience Pros & Cons Key Features About 5Strands Is It Good Value? FAQ Our Final Verdict We give the Pet Intolerances and Imbalances Test a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Quality: 5/5 Accuracy: 5/5 Usability: 5/5 Convenience: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Check Price on 5Strands As a pet parent, you know when something isn’t right with your four-legged friend. Whether they’re constantly scratching or they have an upset stomach, it’s heartbreaking to watch them suffer and frustrating to not have answers, especially if you’ve tried everything you can think of to help them feel better. That’s where at-home sensitivity tests can be lifesavers (literally). In your quest for answers you might have stumbled across intolerance tests you can do at home. They’re pretty popular for humans, but a few brands have tests for pets as well. 5Strands is one of the brands that makes at-home sensitivity tests for humans and animals, and their Pet Intolerances and Imbalances Test is one of their most comprehensive tests for pets. With over 460 items tested, 5Strands helps you get to the root of the problem by testing to see if your pet has food and environmental intolerances or vitamin and mineral imbalances. After sending in a hair sample, you’ll receive a detailed report showing exactly what your furry friend is sensitive to and how bad the sensitivity is. If you’re looking for a non-invasive way to check up on your pet, this test is a great one to get. Overview Check Price on 5Strands Product Type: Non-invasive test that detects if your pet has food or environmental sensitivities or vitamin and mineral deficiencies Best Suited For: Cats and dogs with ongoing health concerns Price Range: Pricey Items Tested: 272 Foods 123 Environmental Items 44 Nutritional Imbalances 42 Heavy Metals & Mineral Imbalances Text Kit Options: 5Strands has nine tests for pets that analyze everything from raw food sensitivities to heavy metal imbalances Type of Sample: The test requires a hair sample Turnaround Time: Results are available 5 business days after the lab receives your pet’s hair sample Contents: Parchment paper bag Anti-static bag Return poly shipping bag Return shipping label Information card Our Experience Check Price on 5Strands Since Micah was a puppy, he’s struggled with a few health issues, like digestive upset. As he grew up, he started to show signs of itching and discomfort: constant scratching, paw biting, and dry skin. While these have always been more of chronic and annoying intolerance problems than acute, life-threatening issues (thank goodness!), he’s clearly miserable when the signs flare up. Over the years, I’ve tried different supplements and vet-recommended diets with little to no success. His vet recommended allergy treatments, but most were based on steroids and I wasn’t keen on giving him these meds right off the bat. Even though there are a few foods I know he’s sensitive to, it’s mostly been trial and error trying to figure out what works for him and what to stay away from. Needless to say, when I heard about 5Strands, I was eager to give them a shot! When the test kit arrived, I followed the instructions to register the ID code and collect the hair sample. Micah has a lot of doodle fluff so the sample was easy for me to get (I used scissors to cut a small chunk of his fur). Once I secured the sample in the bag, I folded the box with the sample inside, put the box in the provided mailer, and shipped the package back to 5Strands using the pre-paid label. The turnaround time was impressively fast. I got the results via email three days after the lab notified me they received the sample. I thought the results were fairly easy to understand (the color-coded chart definitely helps), but it can be overwhelming to see all the colored dots. Having the test come back with so many red dots was a little alarming for me, but at the same time, they made so much sense. The flagged items matched up with what I know Micah is sensitive to (beef, quinoa, and yeast to name a few), and the ones that were new to me felt like a lightbulb moment. Even the most random ones made sense. Micah tested in the red for pear trees, which initially seemed irrelevant, but I have a pear tree in my yard that he wanders around all the time! I love that the test includes vitamins, minerals, and heavy metals as well. These have been crucial in understanding Micah’s health picture and 5Strands does a fantastic job of including the essential ones. After everything I’ve tried, 5Strands has been one of the most helpful resources. It’s allowed me to take action without worrying about making Micah worse and I’m looking forward to starting the elimination protocol. One of the first things I’ll do is change his diet so he’s not eating any Level 2 or 3 food items and minimize his exposure to Level 3 environmental items (I’ve already sectioned off the pear tree so he can’t go anywhere near it). I’ll also work with his vet to address any vitamin and mineral deficiencies or heavy metal imbalances. Pros & Cons Pros Accurate Comprehensive User-friendly Fast turnaround Non-invasive Veterinarian recommended Over 460 items tested Cons Expensive Key Features Check Price on 5Strands What to Expect The test kit arrives in a padded mailer with the contents packaged in a box. This is the same box you’ll use to mail the sample back, so be sure to open it carefully. After opening the package, the first thing you’ll do is register the kit on 5Strands’ website using your unique ID code. This connects the sample to your account so you can see your pet’s results once they’re posted. Next, collect a hair sample from your pet and place it in the provided bag. How you collect the sample is up to you, but be sure to get at least  20-25 strands of hair if your pup’s hair is less than 1 inch long, for an accurate sample. At this point, you can reconstruct the box and place the sample inside. Put the box in the provided mailer with the prepaid shipping label on it and drop it off at the post office. Results are available within five business days of the lab receiving the sample. How it Works The hair sample is tested with bioresonance technology, an innovative technology that uses energy to detect intolerances and imbalances in the body. Humans, animals, foods, and pretty much every other item (environmental agents, minerals, metals, etc.) emit frequencies that can be detected energetically. When the lab gets your pet’s hair sample, they use bioresonance to pick up on those frequencies and identify which items your pet is sensitive to and how severe the sensitivity is. Results When the results are ready, you’ll receive an email with a document where you can view them. Your online account will also have a copy of the document, a downloadable spreadsheet, and a list of the results that you can filter and sort through. One of the first things you’ll probably notice is each item is labeled with a color and a level. The colors and levels correlate with each other and tell you what your pet is sensitive to and the degree of severity. The severity is outlined by the following: Grey: No significant intolerance/imbalance detected Green (Level 1): Mild intolerance/imbalance detected Yellow (Level 2): Moderate intolerance/imbalance detected Red (Level 3): Severe intolerance/imbalance detected 5Strands recommends eliminating Level 2 and Level 3 food items for 6-8 weeks and minimizing Level 3 environmental items as much as you can. For the imbalances section, they recommend supplementing vitamins and minerals as needed and mitigating heavy metal exposure. If you need help interpreting the results, 5Strands offers one-on-one consultations for an additional cost. About 5Strands Check Price on 5Strands Founded: 5Strands was founded in 2017 by Austin Collins and Lisa Blaurock Mission: To empower families with a voice about their healthcare and that of their pets Manufacturing: Test kits are produced and shipped from Lawrenceville, Georgia Shipping: Orders are fulfilled Monday through Friday and are sent out the same day of purchase if placed before 2 PM EST Returns: Unused test kits can be returned for a refund within 30 days Is the Pet Imbalances and Intolerances Test a Good Value? This is an expensive test, but if your dog has chronic issues that you can’t seem to figure out, it’s well worth investing in. Within a few weeks, you’ll have a clear picture of what’s causing their discomfort and a solid understanding of how you can help relieve it. 5Strands has several different test options for pets as well, so if the Pet Intolerances and Imbalances Test is a bit too pricey, you can always choose a different one that matches your budget and your pet’s needs. How We Tested After receiving the test kit, I followed the instructions on the box to collect the hair sample and mail it back. The whole process–from kit registration to boxing up the sample–took about 20 minutes. Since Micah has longer hair, I only needed 10-15 strands, but if your pet has short hair, you’ll need at least 20. A few days after sending out the package, I received an email letting me know the lab received the sample, and three days after that, they emailed me the results (super fast turnaround!). After reviewing the results, I focused on the food section first since digestive issues have been such a big problem for Micah. I wanted to know if there were any Level 2 and Level 3 items in his food (there were several). Since these are the ones Micah is most reactive to, I’m planning to find a diet that doesn’t have these ingredients. Next, I focused on the environmental section. Along with several outdoor elements, I was surprised to see he’s highly sensitive to cotton and polyester–definitely good to know! I then finished off by reviewing the vitamins, minerals, and metals and will supplement and minimize his exposure accordingly. Check Price on 5Strands Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) How do I know if my pet has intolerances or imbalances? Common signs of food and environmental intolerances include: Chronic itching Skin rashes Paw licking Digestive issues Behavioral changes Common signs of vitamin and mineral imbalances include: Fatigue Frequent infections Dry skin Dull coat How do I know which test is right for my pet? A free quiz is available on 5Strands’ website to help you determine which test is best for your furry friend. The quiz only takes a few minutes to complete and results are available immediately. Will I need to retest my pet? 5Strands recommends retesting your pet every six months. Intolerances and imbalances are constantly in flux depending on your pet’s diet and lifestyle, so retesting every six months keeps you up-to-date on sensitivities and helps you stay ahead of your pet’s health. How much hair do I need for the sample? If the hair is longer than 1 inch, 10-15 strands are needed. If the hair is shorter than 1 inch, 20-25 strands are needed. Conclusion 5Strands’ Pet Intolerances and Imbalances test is a great way to find out exactly what’s making your animal companion sick without invasive testing or dropping hundreds of dollars at the vet. By testing over 460 items, you’ll know exactly what’s causing your pet discomfort and have a clear idea of how you can help them moving forward. SHOCKING: BLM leader calls for violence after Daniel Penny found not guilty

Daniel Penny was acquitted of all charges and deemed a hero in the eyes of Americans everywhere — but BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome fervently disagrees. “We need some black vigilantes,” Newsome yelled after the verdict. “People want to jump up and choke us and kill us for being loud? How about we do the same when they attempt to oppress us. I’m tired.” Jordan Neely’s father also called for something to be done after the verdict, which Rubin believes was another call for violence. Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” is rightfully disturbed by what he’s hearing from the both of them. “That is, I would say, as close to calls for direct violence as you can get within the confines of the First Amendment,” Rubin says, adding, “You are not allowed to call for direct violence to people.” “Then you wonder again, when we see these mobs, whether they’re the BLM mobs or the Hamas mobs or whatever, and they’re breaking into stores and they’re looting and they’re scaring kids and women on the streets and all these things, well, how did this happen?” he continues. “Well, it’s what we just showed you here. The media kind of lies about the story, racializes something that shouldn’t be racialized, the governor of the state, pre-emptively, before there’s a trial, and all the evidence is out there, immediately says Daniel Penny is the bad guy,” Rubin explains. “Then you wonder why we’re endlessly in this strange, toxic place that we find ourselves,” he adds. Biden issues largest act of clemency in modern history

President Joe Biden will be commuting the sentences of 1,500 Americans who were released from prison and placed on house arrest during the pandemic and will be pardoning 39 individuals who were convicted of nonviolent crimes, according to a White House press release from Thursday. This would be the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history. Before Biden, former President Barack Obama issued the second-largest single-day act of clemency with 330 shortly before he left office in 2017. Biden will be commuting these sentences and issuing pardons for those who have "shown successful rehabilitation," shown "a strong commitment to making communities safer," and who have "successfully reintegrated into their families and communities," according to the press release. "As the President has said, the United States is a nation of second chances," the press release read. "The President recognizes how the clemency power can advance equal justice under law and remedy harms caused by practices of the past.""Together, these actions build on the President's record of criminal justice reform to help reunite families, strengthen communities, and reintegrate individuals back into society," the press release reads. "The President has issued more sentence commutations at this point in his presidency than any of his recent predecessors at the same point in their first terms." Before Biden, former President Barack Obama issued the second-largest single-day act of clemency with 330 shortly before he left office in 2017. The Biden administration has focused on granting clemency to those who were convicted of "non-violent crimes" and were sentenced under "outdated laws, policies, and practices," according to the press release. "Federal convictions make it difficult to secure housing, jobs, educational opportunities, benefits, and health care; all essential to living a healthy and productive life," the press release reads. "Through his use of the clemency power, President Biden has taken steps to unlock doors of opportunity that would have otherwise remained closed to these recipients, who deserve a second chance." This clemency follows the sweeping pardon Biden issued for his son Hunter Biden on December 1, alleviating Hunter from the federal crimes he was charged with earlier this year. The pardon was met with a slew of bipartisan scrutiny, especially given the president's repeated insistence that he would not pardon his son. Like Blaze News? Budget gaming PCs get massive lifeline as Intel Arc B580 reviews show up Nvidia

The day has arrived, and reviews for the first desktop Battlemage graphics card, the Intel Arc B580 have begun to drop. There's a common trend throughout all the reviews we’ve seen, and it appears Intel has struck gold with an incredible sub-$250 option. Intel’s Alchemist cards were not met with the best reception. While they came into their own after a few updates, they haven’t made our best graphics card list for a reason. Now as Nvidia and AMD’s aims and audience have evolved, a massive gap for a low-priced competitor was sorely needed, and Intel has picked up the gauntlet. Solve clues and grab the tissues - The Haunting of Joni Evers arrives in January

In storytelling, hauntings are often literal and metaphorical. A character spooked by spirits often has something upsetting in their psyche that they must face at the same time. This is exactly what’s going on in The Haunting of Joni Evers, a narrative-rich walking simulator that’s due to release on January 13, 2025. Its titular character must face her fraught relationship with her estranged family while also solving the mystery of the supernatural happenings in her home. Developer Causeway Studios promises plenty of tense moments and emotional gut punches. In fact, creative director Greg Rogers says players will be surprised by “the emotional places the story takes them. The depth of the characters and the twists in the plot create a ‘page-turner’ we think players will love. There are so many details to discover and connections to make beyond the core plot; it’s a game that stays with you long after you put it down.” Continue reading Solve clues and grab the tissues - The Haunting of Joni Evers arrives in January
