The Van Halen co-founder and drummer Alex Van Halen will release his first autobiography called "Brothers", which will tell the story of him and his late brother, the guitarist Eddie Van Halen. They not only made the kind of music that made the British bands popular in the beginning, but like their friends from The Beatles, for example, tried to experiment more and evolve. In the middle of that incredible scene, Townshend had the chance to see up-close many incredible artists appear. Over the decades he talked about many of them, including Elton John. What is the opinion of Pete Townshend on Elton John Townshend talked a lot about Elton in an interview with Time back in 1995 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage). He revealed that he saw him more as a songwriter and also explained why he thinks he was different from David Bowie, for example. "I think of him as a songwriter (Elton John). I think of him as a songwriter who rediscovered the ballad in Rock and Roll. Bowie is somebody who came backstage at the Royal Albert Hall and announced to me that he was going to continue where I left off with Tommy. He came and told me, my little brother Simon was there, he was 8, he remembers that conversation.
