The “real campaign” starts next month — after Labor Day — when the “sugar high” that Democrats are feeling right now comes to an end, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on Tuesday. During a Fox News interview, Johnson dismissed the high level of excitement Democrats are trying to exude during their national convention while rallying around Vice President Kamala Harris after many of them pressured President Joe Biden into dropping out of the White House race. “Everything that we’re seeing at the convention — everything they’re saying, is patently untrue,” Johnson said. “They’re trying to convince the American people that what we’re seeing, and experiencing, and feeling isn’t real.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Johnson argued that when Democrats brag about a hot economy, they ignore a reality that is not quite so rosy as Americans grapple with the increased prices of goods and services. “That’s why they’re out there, you know, touting the economy when they broke the economy, clearly,” Johnson said. “Inflation is at record highs and everyone’s struggling and they’re looking right into the camera and trying to pretend like everything’s great.” Johnson also talked about national security and illegal immigration. “They’ve put us in jeopardy on the world stage,” he said. “They’ve appeased our adversaries and that’s why we have hot wars around the globe right now. They’ve opened the border wide and that is a catastrophe in every city in every state around the country.” Bringing his response to the Democratic National Convention full circle, Johnson said, “They want people to believe that what we see is not actually true, and that’s not going to work. I think they’re on a sugar high right now.” Johnson predicted the Democrats will “come off it after the convention, and the real campaign starts after Labor Day, as it does every presidential cycle.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI He added, “I’m absolutely convinced, y’all, we’re going to grow the House majority, win back the Senate for the Republican Party, and Donald Trump is going to be returned to the White House because of all of this.” Before the interview ended, Fox News host Dana Perino noted that she heard about House Republicans being warned their races in November might be closer than previously expected. Pressed on what he encourages House Republicans to do, Johnson replied that they should “keep fighting, to run like we’re 10 points behind.” He added, “But we’re ahead in the polls, we are going to grow the majority, and we are very bullish about November.”

Former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden’s Monday night speech at the Democratic National Convention, saying Biden appeared “angry” and spoke “lies.” Trump made the comments alongside a short clip he posted of Biden’s address on Truth Social on Tuesday, highlighting a segment where the president had trouble saying the word “electoral.” Biden, 81, didn’t take the DNC stage until after 11:00 p.m. ET after the night’s events went longer than organizers anticipated. Throughout the speech, Biden exaggerated and made false statements on the economy, inflation, and the border while attacking Trump. “An angry and ranting Speech full of LIES, Biden took credit for everything done during the Trump Administration, even continuing to say that he was better on Inflation and Jobs,” the Republican nominee wrote in response. “He never mentioned the Afghanistan Disaster and all the Wars he got us into, or the fact that far more people died from COVID during the Biden years than the Trump years. The Jobs Biden/Harris ‘created’ were almost 100% from Illegal Aliens pouring into our Country, which are destroying the lives of our Black and Hispanic population!” During the speech, Biden said his administration has overseen “one of the most extraordinary four years of progress ever,” adding, “We got from economic crisis to the strongest economy in the entire world. In a different social media post, Trump shot back at Biden’s claims on the economy and said the Democrat “did terribly on jobs.” “Most new jobs under Biden went to illegal immigrants. Additionally, he got what is known as Covid Bounce-back jobs, standard for all countries after a pandemic,” Trump wrote. “He did terribly on jobs, and everything else!” The 16 million jobs figure cited by Biden is skewed as many of those jobs came back naturally when businesses re-opened after the COVID lockdowns were lifted. Currently, the civilian unemployment rate under Biden is higher than what it was under Trump in the month before COVID hit the U.S. Like most of the DNC’s speakers on Monday night, Biden’s speech primarily focused on attacking Trump. “Think of the message he sends around the world,” Biden told Democrats. “He talks about America being a failing nation. He says we’re losing. He’s the loser. He’s dead wrong.” Biden also sought to blame Trump and Republicans for the record number of illegal border crossings that have occurred under the Biden-Harris administration. In fact, there are fewer border crossings today than when Donald Trump left office,” he said. In reality, border apprehensions and encounters hit all-time highs with Biden in office.

Motorcycle giant Harley-Davidson announced Monday that it was backing away from diversity, equity, and inclusion policies after facing criticism from conservative customers in the last few months.  In an open letter to the public, Harley-Davidson said it was no longer implementing DEI policies and would enact strict protocols for future corporate sponsorships and affiliations. The announcement comes as other companies like Tractor Supply have moved away from DEI after conservative customers spoke out.  “We are saddened by the negativity on social media over the last few weeks, designed to divide the Harley-Davidson community. As a Company, we take this issue very seriously, and it is our responsibility to respond with clarity, action, and facts,” the company said. The company said it no longer had a DEI office and would no longer be participating in the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) scoring program going forward.  “It is critical to our business that we hire and retain the best talent and that all employees feel welcome,” the company said. “That said, we have not operated a DEI function since April 2024, and we do not have a DEI function today. We do not have hiring quotas and we no longer have supplier diversity goals.”  The motorcycle company said it was actively reviewing its affiliated sponsorships and organizations, saying that any future partnership would be “centrally approved and managed.” According to the company, the changes were implemented after an internal stakeholder review began earlier this year. “As a consumer brand, we will focus exclusively on growing the sport of motorcycling and retaining our loyal riding community, in addition to the support we already provide to first responders, active military members and veterans.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The changes at the company took place after the company received sharp criticism from conservatives back in July when activist Robby Starbuck highlighted many of the company’s LGBT-focused initiatives, including training employees to be “allies” and promoting the work of Critical Race Theory proponents.  “Another win for our movement.
