Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took aim at Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris during a Saturday rally in Pennsylvania over many of the policy proposals that she has previously signaled that she supports. Trump highlighted Harris’ remarks where she said she wants to eliminate private health insurance and give illegal aliens in the U.S. healthcare. “Kamala Harris wants to eliminate private health insurance and give free tax-payer funded healthcare to every single illegal alien in this country,” he said. “And then you wonder, why do they come up? You know why they come up? Because guys like [California Governor Gavin] Newsom and others are saying, ‘Come up. Come to our country will give you health care.'” Trump noted that the millions of illegal aliens who have flooded into the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration have taken away from services meant for Americans, like children being displaced at their schools to make room for illegal aliens. “People are taking the seats of your children, your children can’t go to school, and you have people taking their seats that don’t speak a word of English, come from a foreign country, and your kids aren’t getting educated,” he said. “Your kids are not getting educated. They’re considered like secondary citizens. And this is Kamala and Joe to a lesser extent. The campaign of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump released a new ad late this week highlighting Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ support of “Bidenomics,” the term given to the Biden-Harris administration’s economic agenda. The ad highlights Harris’ words praising Bidenomics against the backdrop of news coverage showing how Americans have been harmed by inflation, surging energy costs, and soaring interest rates because of the Biden-Harris administration’s policies. The ad states: TRUMP: “I’m Donald J. Almost two weeks after the news broke, NPR's All Things Considered told listeners that "Second Gentleman" Doug Emhoff wasn't a gentleman with his first wife. It came in an otherwise promotional piece by reporter Deepa Shivaram. First, they noted he's been on the campaign trail advocating for "reproductive rights," claiming it's "barbaric and immoral" to deny abortions. He speaks out for Israel, since he is Jewish. The entire adultery mess was dismissed in 51 words, and left out more negative details. DEEPA SHIVARAM: But before all these serious policy issues, Emhoff was maybe best known as a wife guy, a hyped-up husband who was posting about his famous wife on social media. Here he is in an interview with Esquire this week. DOUG EMHOFF: She's doing serious business campaigning, and I'm just goofing around saying, hey; let's take a selfie. DEEPA SHIVARAM: The wife-guy persona was dented slightly recently [!], when news broke that Emhoff had cheated on his first wife, Kerstin, with whom he has two adult kids. Both he and his ex-wife released statements that said they continue to have a good relationship with each other and with Harris as a co-parent. That's it. Shivaram left out what the London Daily Mail originally reported: Emhoff had an affair with his children's blonde nanny, Najen Naylor. "A close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy told DailyMail.com that Naylor did not keep the child – though her social media shows a video of a mysterious baby girl named Brook in 2009, the year the baby would have been born." Instead, NPR went right back to the Awesome Emhoff storyline:  DEEPA SHIVARAM: Friends of Harris and Emhoff say the second gentleman makes it a priority to be a good partner. Here's California Senator Laphonza Butler.  LAPHONZA BUTLER: I love me some Doug Emhoff. He is an unrelenting, unflinching partner. When things are tough, he is right there. At her highest highs and her lowest lows, he is there. SHIVARAM: That element of Emhoff's personality could play out well politically, says, Kevin Liao, a Democratic strategist in California. KEVIN LIAO: He's a middle-aged man. He's a dad. He's a sports fan. He's seemingly a regular dude, and I think that's really a strength that he should lean into. So Emhoff's an "unrelenting partner," unless he's cheating on you? That element of his personally "could play well"? As long as you have taxpayer-funded reporters promoting you as a "regular dude." He loves sports:  SHIVARAM: Emhoff is a die-hard fan of the LA Rams and says people at the White House don't hesitate with smack talk about his fantasy football team. Liao says Emhoff's connection to sports could appeal to voters who are skeptical of Harris. LIAO: It doesn't necessarily earn a vote, but it helps people be willing to listen the next time that Kamala Harris shows up on the TV. SHIVARAM: And that willingness matters more in an election that'll be decided on the margins. Deepa Shivaram, NPR News. So rooting for the Rams should cause people to vote Harris -- and cheating on your wife with the nanny is not expected to matter in the election. That's strange spin.

Michaels prefers an old-school dieting approach — exercise, healthy food, and moderation — to a drug with uncertain side effects.“All I do all day long is talk to M.D.s and Ph.D.s,” she said, “CNN branded me as crazy.”And she knows why.“Health has become a political football ... losing weight has become political,” she said, adding that the American Academy of Pediatrics has greenlit children as young as 12 being given Ozempic for their battles of the bulge.She said she’s dubbed an “anti-vaxxer” for asking questions about the COVID-19 shots despite having had “every vaccine.” And she’s aghast at how vigorously social media platforms censor speech and those with so-called problematic views.Zero tolerance“We should be able to discuss [subjects] without being shut down and silenced,” she said. “I thought that being on the left meant you were the tolerant party. We wanted everybody to live free.”Talking with her wife, Deshanna Marie Minuto, a Trump supporter, helped open her eyes. The modern left “is the least tolerant,” her wife told her. She calls it the Dale Carnegie approach, citing his seminal tome “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”“It’s tough. You want to feel safe, like you’ve nestled into a clan. At the same time, there’s a bigger goal, to get people to the table, to talk, to listen, to understand,” she said. “Once you understand where the other side is coming from, then from that point, you present your own positions. You’ve built up some good will.”She thinks that’s sorely missing in the modern media landscape.She began to notice a cultural shift roughly a decade ago. At the time, she was changing her representation following her exit from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”40 and whiteA new potential agency gave her a curious warning.“You’re 40 and you’re white. It’s gonna be tough for you,” she recalled of the conversation. “Who cares? I‘m still great at what I do. Woke.Michaels wades into culture war issues without fear or hesitation. And she’s ready with solid advice on how others can slim down in a healthy, reasonable fashion.“Invest in a walking pad,” she said of the modestly-priced gadget. “Walk when you’re using your computer, answering emails or watching your favorite show.”No more excuses about the weather being too cold, hot, or rainy, she said.“Do 10,000 steps a day,” she said. She recommends getting one of the many simple phone apps to track said steps. “You don’t need a fancy Apple watch.”Eat whatever you want, she added, with a heaping helping of common sense.
