Former President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Democratic nominee Kamala Harris needs to explain the current economic “suffering” she has caused at the side of President Joe Biden. Trump spoke to a large crowd in Asheville, North Carolina, where he focused on his economic policy and how a second Trump administration would address the economic woes seen under Biden and Harris. He argued that under the Biden-Harris administration, “the American dream is dead,” and called on Vice President Harris to explain why Americans are facing economic headwinds. “Kamala Harris wants to talk about her fantasies … she wants to talk for the future about these fantasies, but really what she needs to explain is the present suffering that she has caused along with Joe Biden,” Trump said. “And by the way, they’re a team,” he added. “You know, she’s trying to throw him overboard. She doesn’t want to know who he is anymore. She doesn’t want to talk about him anymore. She says, ‘Let’s not bring this guy in’ … no, no, they were a team. He appointed her as border czar, and she did the worst job in the history of borders.” Trump: “Under Kamala Harris and crooked Joe Biden, the American Dream is DEAD.” pic.twitter.com/m6fayoXZNz — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) August 14, 2024 Harris will also visit North Carolina on Friday, where she is expected to discuss her economic policy — but her speech will be “relatively light on details,” The New York Times reported, citing people familiar with Harris’ plans. The vice president’s positions have been impossible to nail down as she has avoided media appearances and has yet to hold a press conference since becoming her party’s nominee. Harris’ campaign website has yet to publish a policy platform. Harris has an awkward line to walk when addressing the economy, being careful not to criticize the current administration’s policies of which she is a part, but also trying to prove to voters that she has something to offer that is different from Biden’s handling of the issue. The economy and inflation have remained a top issue for most Americans going into the 2024 election. A new Associated Press poll found that 45% of those surveyed trust Trump on the economy over Harris compared to 38% who would prefer Harris over Trump on the issue.

It has now been 25 full days that Kamala Harris has been the de facto Democratic nominee and has answered zero questions from the media. You would think that might bother some people in the media. But no.  This is the untold story of the last 20 years in American politics. Since Barack Obama came onto the national scene, no one in the media has had any curiosity about asking Democrats questions.  That’s how Harris has had 25 days of glowing media coverage, a media massaging her shoulders and bootlicking her at every turn.  During the Bill Clinton presidency, the media broke some pretty major stories, ranging from Travelgate to Chinagate to the Lewinsky scandal. They did their jobs, at least up to a point. They hated George W.  Bush, so they did everything they could to cover every small peccadillo in which anyone involved in the Bush family or the Bush circle participated.  Then came Barack Obama. With Obama, the media decided that at long last, their messiah had come, and they were no longer able to ask any questions. In fact, asking questions of Obama would be seen as gauche, might be seen as racist. They didn’t want to do that. So, instead, they decided to become the full-fledged Praetorian Guard for Obama. And because Barack Obama reshaped the nature of American politics and because the media had spent eight years with their muscles atrophying, they were able to go hard at Donald Trump. Everything Trump did or did not do became front-page news — four long years of them claiming that just around the next corner loomed evidence that he was a stooge of Vladimir Putin. Everything Trump ever did was the most scandalous thing anyone had ever done. Then, Trump lost the election in 2020 and the media went right back to that comforting, warm, urine-filled kiddy pool that was the Obama years. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show They’re there right now. And they’re enjoying it. They had a three-week intermission where they were forced by circumstance, and by the incompetence of Joe Biden, to do their job. That had to have been unusual for them, as if they were suddenly hit with volts of electricity and had to get up and walk around. But it turned out that wasn’t journalism being alive. That was like the experiment with frogs, where you galvanize a frog and suddenly it moves a little bit even though it’s dead. They were dead, but then Kamala Harris came in and suddenly they were just as incurious as they ever were about Barack Obama. But — the American people know it. The American people know it. They know what the legacy media are. And we just had a prime example. Monday night, on the Stephen Colbert Show, Colbert had on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. She was talking about how terrible Trump is, what a terrible job he’s doing, and how Harris has all the momentum. But then Colbert said, in perfect seriousness, straight-faced, that CNN is objective. And the crowd — the crowd for Colbert’s shows is invariably to the Left — laughed. It wasn’t supposed to be a laugh line. But it was because the media have become such a laughingstock every normal American looks at CNN and sees a Left-wing outlet. The media are doing their damnedest to help her steal this election, not by changing the votes or rigging the ballot boxes, but by obscuring her record and positions to completely hide every piece of relevant information about her. Why has Harris been able to switch every position she has ever held to the complete incuriosity of the media? They keep saying, “Well, you know, eventually we’ll get to it.” The question is: When? We are getting down to crunch time. People are going to start turning in their ballots right now. Harris has been able to skate completely across the campaign with not even a ripple from the legacy media. They are all trying to play defense for her. Why? Because they have to. Without them playing defense, they have nothing. She is not a good candidate. She never was a good candidate. Any half-decent politician can read a speech from a teleprompter. That is not difficult. What is difficult is knowing your own positions, being able to speak to those positions, taking on critics, and facing down controversy. That’s a hard job. But Harris is not facing down any of that because the media are acting as her Praetorian Guard. Demi Lovato opened up about her new Hulu documentary “Child Star,” saying that young fame ruined her childhood and she won’t let her own kids go through the same. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 31-year-old actress who was a staple of Disney Channel shows for kids growing up in the 2000’s said if her daughter ever came to her and expressed an interest in following in her footsteps into acting/music, she’d tell her to wait until she’s older. “I’d say, ‘Let’s study music theory and prepare you for the day you turn 18, because it’s not happening before that,’” Lovato told the outlet. “Not because I don’t believe in you or love you or want you to be happy, but because I want you to have a childhood, the childhood that I didn’t have,” she added. “‘And also, let’s come up with a backup plan,’ which is something I wish I’d done because sometimes I think it’s time for me to move on, but I’m in this weird position in my career because I still rely on music for my income,” Lovato continued. I received the following email concerning activity at a residence. The witness had read an account and stated he and his wife wanted to detail some of the Bigfoot activity occurring around their home."Sir - After reading the Mingo County, West Virginia resident and other stories, we thought that you may want to read what we are putting up with at our home. We live in Marion County, Florida and are a retired couple. We are in a neighborhood very near Ocala National Forest.When we moved here in 2014, we were told of strange sightings in the area - in particular Bigfoot. We had moved from NYC, so I figured it was just a bunch of hogwash - just like the alligators in the NYC sewers.To make a long story short, here is a list of things going on here:- Howling late at night. Intense guttural screams to be exact. Many times they come from different directions at one time.- I know the Bigfoot are making the noise because we have encountered them. One broke my side garage door not long after we moved in. We weren't home at the time, but I have no doubt that's what did the damage. My wife saw a young one in her garden one evening. She turned the porch light on and it scampered into the brush. She described it as 4ft or so, with long dark hair all over its body.- They like to leave things around the yard and patio. Usually it's other people's garbage - cans and bottles for the most part. I don't want to encourage this activity by leaving something for them, but I'm sure that they mean no harm.- I have never seen another animal in our yard, which I believe is unusual because of where we live. We feel that the Bigfoot roam so near to our property that small animals avoid the area. This could be the wrong assumption, but the lack of raccoons, opossums, etc. is strange.I'm not going to try and take photographs, because I believe that they know better and that it would anger them. A fellow on our block tried to set out a motion sensitive camera. Well the damage they endured from a Bigfoot (a busted camera, broken lawn furniture and uprooted plants) changed those plans.I have seen people going into the forest at other locations - and it's obvious that they are searching for the Bigfoot, even though the wildlife is protected. My feeling is that they should leave these creatures alone, though I doubt they'll ever find one. They are very keen and aloof - almost magical in the way they go about their lives.I didn't want to give out our exact location. We don't want the Bigfoot people trampling about the neighborhood." VNOTE: It's an interesting account. They didn't leave a phone number, but they did return my email with a few more details I added to the original inquiry. I'm not sure whether they have learned to live with the Bigfoot or rather that they are gone. But I do think that they have gained a certain amount of respect for their neighbors in the forest.
