Donald Trump, J.D. Vance Respond To Harris’ Running Mate Selection

News broke early Tuesday morning that Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 presidential election. BREAKING: Kamala Harris Selects Her Running Mate, Sources Claim President Trump had a simple two-word response. "THANK YOU!" Vance provided more input to the announcement. "My view on it is it just highlights how radical Kamala Harris is," Vance said. "This is a person who listened to the Hamas wing of her own party," he continued. "This is a guy who has proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China, wants to make the American people more reliant on garbage energy instead of good American energy, and has proposed defunding the police just as Kamala Harris does," he added. "Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020 and the few that got caught, Kamala Harris helped bailed them out of jail," Vance noted. His supporters touted his record of accomplishing progressive goals in Minnesota, despite a razor-thin Democratic majority—as well as his success in a midwestern state—as reasons why he would make a strong vice president. The Trump campaign reacted to the news in a statement. "It's no surprise that San Francisco Liberal Kamala Harris wants West Coast wannabe Tim Walz as her running-mate – Walz has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State," the statement reads. "While Walz pretends to support Americans in the Heartland, when the cameras are off, he believes that rural America is 'mostly cows and rocks.'" The statement continued, "From proposing his own carbon-free agenda, to suggesting stricter emission standards for gas-powered cars, and embracing policies to allow convicted felons to vote, Walz is obsessed with spreading California's dangerously liberal agenda far and wide. If Walz won't tell voters the truth, we will: just like Kamala Harris, Tim Walz is a dangerously liberal extremist, and the Harris-Walz California dream is every American's nightmare." "This is what happened to Minnesota while Gov Tim Walz was in charge. Never forget," Libs of TikTok wrote. WATCH: This is what happened to Minnesota while Gov Tim Walz was in charge. A thousand words, as they say. pic.twitter.com/5L0qzCy0d6 — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) August 6, 2024 Per Daily Mail: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz faces new scrutiny on how he handled the George Floyd riots, as Vice President Kamala Harris has selected him as her running mate for the 2024 election. Protests of George Floyd's death at the hands of Minneapolis police in May 2020 soon escalated into violence, as rioters burned and looted businesses in the Twin Cities. Walz resisted sending in the National Guard to address the escalating violence in the city for three days but ultimately chose to do so after receiving heavy criticism from residents for allowing the city to burn after rioters overwhelmed the state and local police force. At the time, Walz argued that calling up the National Guard to enforce order would only incite further rioting, and suggested that protesters needed the space to express their outrage. 'I want to just be clear there's philosophically an argument to be made that an armed presence on the ground in the midst of where we just had a police killing is seen as a catalyst,' he said during a press conference. After the third night of rioting, where a police precinct was set on fire, Walz admitted they had failed to properly respond to the violence.

Trump & Vance Issue a Statement on Far-Far Left Walz as VP

Gov. Tim Walz is the new running mate for communist Kamala Harris. He is the furthest left of the VP picks, and his selection makes one thing clear: the hardcore left is going for it. They will move quickly to finish us off. He’s a kook who made a hit calling Republicans weird, which is […] The post Trump & Vance Issue a Statement on Far-Far Left Walz as VP appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Josh Shapiro And Other VP Contenders React to Harris-Walz Ticket

The Democrats who did not make the cut in the veepstakes spoke out on Tuesday after Vice President Kamala Harris picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate. Walz edged out Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to join Harris’ ticket. Walz and Shapiro were reportedly the final two frontrunners. In a lengthy statement, Shapiro said he had the opportunity to speak to the vice president on Sunday about her “vision for the role and the campaign ahead.” After noting that the choice of running mate was a ” deeply personal decision” for himself and Harris, Shapiro said he still has work to do while serving as Pennsylvania’s governor. “I know that Governor Tim Walz is an exceptionally strong addition to the ticket who will help Kamala move our country forward. Lori and I consider Tim and Gwen to be good friends of ours and we are excited for them and for the country to get to know the great people we know them to be,” Shapiro said. Shapiro, who insisted that Harris has his “enthusiastic support,” concluded, “Over the next 90 days, I look forward to traveling all across the Commonwealth to unite Pennsylvanians behind Kamala Harris’ campaign to defeat Donald Trump, become the 47th President of the United States, and build a better future for our country.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Harris and Walz are expected to make their first appearance together as running mates in Philadelphia later on Tuesday. Shapiro indicated he would be in attendance, saying on X, “See you tonight in Philly.” Beshear said on X that it was an “honor” to be considered in the process. Walz “is a great friend and a great choice,” Beshear said, adding that he “fully” supports the ticket and will work to get Harris elected president. Also on X, Kelly said Harris and Walz “are going to move us forward” and are “already building a campaign to unite our country.” Kelly added that he and his wife, Gabby Giffords, are “ready to do everything we can to help them win.” Like Kelly, Buttigieg did not mention the vetting process in his first public statement about the Harris-Walz ticket. He said on X, “Tim Walz is an exceptionally effective governor – and also great to work with. I’m excited for what his Midwestern voice, military experience, and common-sense values will bring to our winning ticket, and for everything the Harris-Walz administration will deliver for Americans.”

FLASHBACK: Tim Walz Called The Iran Deal The ‘Best Path Forward’

As Israel braces for a strike from Iran and its terrorist proxies, Vice President Kamala Harris tapped as her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who voted in favor of the infamous deal that emboldened and enriched Iran. Walz voted for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a member of Congress in 2015, calling it the “best path forward” CBS News reported at the time. He has remained a vocal defender of the plan, and criticized former President Donald Trump when the latter withdrew from the deal in 2018. The JCPOA stipulates that Iran would halt any nuclear weapons programs and permit inspections of its nuclear energy facilities in exchange for the United States and its allies agreeing to lift economic sanctions and permit access to about $56 billion of its frozen assets. Opponents of the JCPOA, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, doubted Iran’s commitment to transparent inspections, and argued that the deal didn’t address Iran’s ability to increase funding for its terrorist proxies with the lifted sanctions and unfrozen assets. Since the United States agreed to the JCPOA, Iran’s military budget grew by approximately 30 percent, even as the country’s economy foundered. It is estimated that Iran could produce enough enriched uranium for a nuclear bomb in under a week, according to Bloomberg. “This deal is far from perfect, and I harbor no illusions that the hate and violence of the Iranian regime will fade after it goes into effect,” he wrote. “I expect Iran will continue to be a destabilizing force in the region and a threat to America and our allies. But, I believe this agreement is our best path forward.”  Walz said it was “disappointing” and “frustrating” when former President Donald Trump terminated the United States’ involvement in the JCPOA in 2018. “Like so many things with President Trump — whether it’s the Paris Accords, the ACA, Dodd-Frank — how about we build upon those successes? We’re trying to erase President Obama’s legacy without any thought about how those things were built,” Walz told the MinnPost at the time. Walz also condemned Trump’s move on X. Preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb is critical to national and global security. The conversation about how to best protect the US and our allies must and will continue following @realDonaldTrump’s disappointing and shortsighted decision to walk away from the #IranDeal. — Fmr. Rep. Tim Walz (@RepTimWalz) May 8, 2018 In his announcement to withdraw, Trump deemed the JCPOA “disastrous” and “a great embarrassment to me as a citizen and to all citizens of the United States.” “The fact is this was a horrible, one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Trump said. “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.” Trump added that Iran and its proxies have attacked American embassies and military installations and murdered hundreds of American service members in Beirut in 1983, and kidnapped, imprisoned, and tortured American citizens. Anti-Israel members of the far-left “Squad” celebrated Harris naming Walz to the ticket on Tuesday, including Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) who has a history of anti-Semitism. “Congratulations to our next Vice President,” Omar wrote on X, adding that Walz is “Bringing Minnesota nice to the ticket.”  Just days before Iran attacked Israel in April with about 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles, Omar called for the Biden-Harris administration to withhold “pending and future weapons assistance to Israel.” Following the attack, Omar doubled down, urging Washington to “exercise restraint.” Along with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, Omar demanded sanctions to be lifted on Iran in 2020. In March, Walz called for a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas, which began after Hamas killed about 1,200 Israelis in southern Israel on October 7.

When The 15 Minutes Run Out, What Happens Next?

Last September, Morning Consult released a report that concluded 57% of Gen Z wants to become influencers and make that their career. As they all scroll Instagram and TikTok, they see what appears to be lavish lifestyles, fun “get ready with me” videos, and lackadaisical “day in the life” vlogs in which the most challenging part of the day is a 5:00 a.m. pilates class. They watch as 23-year-olds buy houses in the Hamptons and drive 2024 Range Rovers around town. But what if that all comes crashing down? What happens when you lose your relevance or when audiences decide they’ve seen too much content? Sometimes, people who become incredibly but fleetingly popular on social media are not able to launch into more mainstream fame — so they fizzle out. Jason Nash is a prime example. In the early 2010s, actor and stand-up comic Jason Nash became friends with YouTuber David Dobrik, joined his “vlog squad,” and soared with it to the height of its popularity. But a few years ago, Dobrik and his entire group fell from grace, and the vlog squad dissolved. Now, Dobrik owns a pizza parlor, and Nash asks for money on live TikToks. Source: tiktok.com/@kicks.and.gigs.re When someone is live on TikTok, viewers can send you “gifts,” like roses or other little emojis that turn into actual money for the creator who receives them. As a result, Nash goes live everyday doing random things so people will send him gifts (i.e., money). This is a man who was once making millions on YouTube. He was producing shows with Dobrik, starring in “Funny or Die” videos, but now, he is attempting to hold onto any of his leftover relevancy to make money. Of course, the comments are ruthless, with some people hypothesizing that Dobrik’s pensions ran out, feeling sorry for Nash’s kids, and comparing this to “asking for money on the street.” Source: TikTok Nash’s TikTok lives have gotten to the point they are just sad, uncomfortable, and embarrassing. He’s angry, occasionally sad, and sometimes even cries. Source: tiktok.com/@namikazej117 The comments just continue, going so far as to name this virtual panhandling. One commenter flat said they want to see him get “an actual job.” Source: TikTok I think that’s a challenge everyone wants him to attempt — everyone except Jason, that is.  WATCH: The Comments Section with Brett Cooper In a recent podcast, he was confronted about “getting a real job,” and he responded that he doesn’t have any skills and has no interests outside of entertainment. Apparently, he seems to look down on normal jobs. Source: tiktok.com/@spillsometeawithme1 He gives excuse after excuse as to why he is not seeking gainful employment. If he were being honest, he would say, “I’m lazy, and I think I’m too good to work a ‘normal job.’” Because he most definitely has the skills to be a DoorDash driver or work at a retail store. Furthermore, good, hard-working people work those jobs. He needs to grow up, and the commenters agree: Source: TikTok Nash got famous in his 30s, so he had to be doing something before that. Struggling actors all have a side job, so he is bound to have some kind of skill. Some of the comments offer elements of personal responsibility and common sense: Source: TikTok To Nash’s explanation of why he is not in real estate, one commenter explained the gap in understanding: Source: TikTok Jason Nash’s journey to and fall from influencer fame should serve as a cautionary tale to everyone. If you are in a fickle, unstable business, know that — and handle your money responsibly. Then, squelch your ego and be realistic. Life comes for everyone, and no one is immune. And when hard times come, you should never look down on the work that every normal person does. This brings me to the Hawk Tuah girl, the details of whose story I will skip over, but in short form, a girl went insanely viral after her man-on-the-street interview: Source: tiktok.com/@ahpositive My concern for this girl stems from watching Jason Nash and people whose fleeting fame lands them in hardship. In an interview she did with Barstool, she explained she has quit her job to move to LA to be a celebrity. She states, “I think we’re going to do like a show and then we’re just gonna be like on a bunch of podcasts and everything else in between.” After a seven-second viral clip, she has a whole team now. And she plans to figure it out as she goes but “there’s more to come.” Source: tiktok.com/@barstoolsports I would love to have a word with whomever is advising her. She is doing documentary-style videos on TikTok, selling Hawk Tuah merch, but simultaneously doing press saying she does not want to be known for that. This all seems like a recipe for disaster, but at the end of the day, it’s her life — go for it if you want, take the leap, but I hope she will keep some humility as she leaps. That said, I kept my Trader Joe’s employee name tag, and I will absolutely march right back in if need be. Being an influencer or content creator does not excuse anyone from the realities of life.

FLASHBACK: Walz Implemented COVID Hotline To Snitch On Neighbors

In March 2020, Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz’s administration implemented a hotline encouraging people to snitch on their neighbors who weren’t following the government’s COVID lockdown orders. The hotline generated thousands of reports – against people playing basketball, walking their dogs, or attending church, local outlet Alpha News reported in 2022. Walz’s administration continued to monitor the hotline until November 2020, though it remained operational until June 2022. In one example of a complaint, someone alerted authorities to a church service that wasn’t following Walz’s “legal requirements,” the outlet noted. “I am aware that the apostolic Lutheran church at [address] is planning to hold church services oct 2-4th [sic]. Hundreds are expected And [sic] they will be serving meals in the church dining hall. I don’t believe this fits with legal requirements and I am. Aware [sic] that multiple families that attend this church currently have coronavirus.” People also called in lists of “non-essential” businesses that remained open or didn’t strictly follow government masking requirements. A recording of the hotline circulating online reveals a prerecorded message telling callers they have reached the “Office of Public Safety Stay At Home Hotline.” “The information you leave is considered public information,” it continued. “At the tone, please leave the following information: your name, your callback number, how the stay-at-home order is being violated, and where the stay-at-home order was violated.” Tim Walz Covid Snitch Line If my account is remembered for anything let it be this. Just like socialism, this is Tim Walz’s idea of being neighborly. It’s one thing to read about it. It’s another to hear it. pic.twitter.com/4Xu9NlugvS — CiceroMN (@cicero_mn) August 6, 2024 The hotline flew in the face of the message Gov. Walz sent in 2023 regarding LGBT issues. “In Minnesota, we mind our own damn business,” Walz said in a post on X. In Minnesota, we mind our own damn business. We don’t need you in the exam room. We don’t need you telling us who we can love. And we sure don’t need you attacking our teachers, students, and schools. — Governor Tim Walz (@GovTimWalz) August 10, 2023 He was immediately met with responses from people pointing out the snitch hotline. In addition to calling in tips, people could also email complaints. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) noted to Alpha News that about 10,000 COVID-related emails were sent, many of which were spam. According to the outlet, in one email someone reported “a very large gathering of a pick up basketball game with a lot of observers that easily totaled 30+.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Another person reported that they had seen a Facebook photo of a small group of people working out at a local park, even though the people could be seen spaced out several feet from each other. “I have a real problem with this and they are inviting more people to join,” the person reporting complained.” The list goes on, including someone who reported an employee who was “not practicing social distancing and [was] displaying risky behaviors during this crisis.” Another person reported a police officer who threw a birthday party at his house, and someone else reported that there were “too many people in Walgreens at once.” Another email complained that people were “going to their cabins,” and others noted that construction workers weren’t practicing social distancing, and that call centers were still operating. Yet another person complained that an insurance agency had three employees in the office. Another complained that people were buying non-essential items at a convenience store, like lottery ticks, candy, or soda. “Customers are coming and saying, ‘I’m bored and needed to get out of the house,’” the complaint said. “They buy lottery tickets, a candy bar, a soda … those items are not ‘essential.’”
