Actor John Corbett, widely known for his recurring role as Aidan on the HBO drama “Sex and the City,” said he regrets his decision to go into the profession. The 63-year-old actor said during an appearance on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast that he would have preferred a behind-the-scenes role in Hollywood instead. “Look, I’m in the fourth quarter of the football game now, in life and in showbiz. It’s just a fact. So I can reveal now I picked the f***ing wrong thing to do with my life,” Corbett told hosts David Spade and Dana Carvey, per Today. The celeb continued, mentioning how he’s had an issue with “any authority figure” since he was a child.  “I picked something to do with my whole life for my fulfillment of my work life, which is, ‘Dude, stand here, say this, put this on, look this way, say it faster, cut your hair like this,’” he said. Corbett, who starred in the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” franchise, also mentioned how boring it was sometimes.  “Have you ever sat in a f***ing waiting room of a doctor’s office for like an hour and been like, ‘What the f***?’” he said of being on set. “For me, that’s what making a movie is like, because I’m not part of any creative process.” “I’ve made a lot of money. I live in a beautiful home. People come to me at every f***in’ restaurant I go in. I’m a friend of the world,” Corbett went on. “But as far as a fulfilling creative work life, I didn’t write one f***ing line. I didn’t write one joke that made people laugh. So it’s been unfulfilling on that level.” The actor found fame thanks to his breakout role as Chris Stevens on the CBS comedy-drama “Northern Exposure” (1990-1995). Corbett also spent some time as a country music performer, releasing albums in 2006 and 2013. Corbett has discussed feeling less than enthused about his acting career in the past. “I’ve made friends with the idea of, this is just what I do,” he told The New York Times in June 2023. “When the phone rings and it feels like the money’s right and the place is right and the time is right, I’ll go be this guy that these people want.” “I was the hunky guy and women would gush,” he added. “I don’t think one person has ever come up to me and said, ‘Hey, I think you’re a good actor.’”

Joe Biden and Democrats are hoping that Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell saves them. The big problem right now for Biden is that economic growth has slowed. There have been a bunch of retroactive revisions of the job numbers that push them down. This keeps happening over and over where the media says, “Those are pretty strong,” and then a month later they admit, “Well, subtract 100,000 from that.” Inflation has not fully been conquered yet. So the Biden administration is desperately hoping that Jerome Powell will step in and try to cut interest rates before the election and give an artificial boost to Joe Biden’s reelection chances. According to The Wall Street Journal, “Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell made a subtle but important shift that moved the central bank closer to lowering interest rates when he suggested Tuesday that a further cooling in the labor market could be undesirable. ‘Elevated inflation is not the only risk we face,’ Powell told the Senate Banking Committee during the first of two days of testimony Tuesday. ‘We’ve seen that the labor market has cooled really significantly across so many measures.…It’s not a source of broad inflationary pressures for the economy now.’… Powell conceded that he wouldn’t have arrived at such a judgment as recently as two months ago…” Powell said the slowdown in hiring means that they’re afraid there are too many unemployed people. Perhaps the Fed is going to jog the economy with more money. The problem is that inflation is still at 2.6%, and 2% is the target. Fed officials have not conquered inflation; if they are to lower interest rates now, presumably what you will get is renewed inflation, just in time for the election. Joe Biden is creating an economic box for himself, and I don’t think Jerome Powell is necessarily going to let him out of that box. It doesn’t seem as though the economy or the American perception of the economy is going to change radically prior to the election. What’s going to change for Biden before the election? What’s going to change for Trump? Trump is absolutely the same as he was in 2016, as he was in 2020, except more disciplined. The big question for Trump is going to be whom he selects as his running mate.  What’s going to change for Joe Biden? Because it’s hard to see what changes in a positive direction for him at this point. It seems as though the only things that can happen at this point are pretty bad for him. Barring some sort of economic boom that suddenly breaks in, it’s going to be hard to change the direction of this election. And the polls are running in Trump’s direction. In brand-new Emerson College polling, Trump is running ahead of Biden 46% to 43%. And Biden is the best the Democrats can do; Trump beats Kamala Harris 49% to 43%; Bernie Sanders by six, Al Gore by five, Hillary Clinton by seven, and Gavin Newsom by eight. Nate Silver says Trump is leading by 3.1 percentage points. He stated that Trump is doing well in the swing states; leading in Pennsylvania by three, in Wisconsin by two, in Georgia by five, in Michigan by one, in North Carolina by six, in Arizona by seven, in Nevada by six, in Florida by nine, and in Texas by ten. The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Donald Trump with a lead of five and a half points in Pennsylvania, up two in Wisconsin, one in Michigan, five in Arizona, four in Georgia, five in Nevada, and six in North Carolina. All momentum currently is with Trump. The problem for Joe Biden is no matter how much he tries to talk himself through this race, no matter how he tries to convince everyone that he is healthy, youthful, full of vim and vigor, he is not. And as much as some Democrats want him to, Joe Biden is not dropping out.

NBC News’ Chuck Todd said Tuesday that Biden’s declining cognitive health has been an “open secret” for years, revealing that a senior cabinet member from the Biden administration suggested in 2022 that the president cannot run for reelection. “I’m not gonna out the cabinet secretary, right?” Todd said on his podcast, “The Chuck Toddcast.” “But I had a cabinet secretary two years ago… all out of the blue ask me, ‘Do you really think he’s gonna — he can’t run again like this?'” The former “Meet the Press” host then said that the secretary told him he had little interaction with Biden. “This is a pretty senior cabinet secretary. And this was two years ago,” Todd emphasized. “This is one of those, you know, it’s the classic open secret, a non-versation, right? It’s the story everybody knows and no one was— everybody was afraid to talk about.” Todd further criticized the Biden administration for hiding Biden’s health, notably giving the mainstream media a pass. “It looks like they’re putting, essentially, party over country — and for what?” he posed. “They cannot, I mean, there is no evidence — this is irresponsible — there is no evidence he can serve four years.” “There is no evidence he can serve four years and the fact that they have to drag — this White House had to, they had to drag it out of him that they’ve had this neurological test,” he continued. “If he had it, he should have been at the [ABC News host George] Stephanopoulos interview: ‘Here you go, George, here it is. Here it is. I know people have been asking for it. Look, I did it in February. It’s clear, you know, it’s all fine. Here it is.'” “But now you have to wait till the New York Times goes to the visitor logs, finds eight visits!” he said. “‘No, it wasn’t eight. It’s just been three with Biden. But don’t worry, all is good.’ They have no credibility left on this topic. None.” Despite concerns from Democrats, Biden has been adamant that he’s staying in the race, even saying during the recent ABC News interview that he would only drop out if the “Lord Almighty” told him to. One of Clint Eastwood’s famous “spaghetti Western” films, “A Fistful of Dollars,” is getting a remake thanks to the help of Hollywood and Italian veterans in the movie-making industry. In a statement from Hollywood veteran Gianni Nunnari (300) and Simon Horsman of Euro Gang Entertainment, alongside Italian production veteran Enzo Sisti (Ripley) of FPC, and Rome-based Jolly Film (which produced the original movie), they said they were thrilled at the prospect of remaking one of Sergio Leone and Eastwood’s classic films, Deadline noted. “I am delighted to partner with Gianni again having just worked with him on ‘Those About to Die’, and with Simon on the remake of this classic film, which created a whole new sub-genre in film spawning over 500 European westerns,” Sisti said. The success of Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” helped create two more movies in a classic Western trilogy of movies, “For a Few Dollars More,” followed by “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” All three movies are about the “Man with No Name,” Eastwood’s character, IMDb noted. Eastwood starred in all three and went on to become a famous Hollywood star known for his rugged and tough appearance in westerns followed by his no-nonsense approach in cop movies. Production is being kept under wraps as it’s still early in the process, Deadline noted. It is unclear if the film will be in English as the original movie was released in Italy and dubbed into English for audiences in the United States in 1967, along with the other two films in the trilogy, Reel Reviews noted.
