Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said over the weekend that he has serious doubts about President Joe Biden’s ability to continue serving as president and that both the president and his line of succession need to take cognitive tests moving forward. Graham made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” while talking about the fallout from Biden’s disastrous debate performance. “Most of us are concerned of the national security implications of this debate about President Biden’s health,” Graham said. “Most Democrats are worried about Biden winning the election. I’m worried about Biden being the commander in chief for the next four months. We’re having a meeting with NATO in Washington next week. On October the 7th, Israel’s attacked by Hamas. On October the 8th, President Biden gives an interview to the special counsel, where they determined him to be a nice man with a bad memory and you couldn’t convince a jury he did anything wrong.” “I want those tapes released,” he continued. “So, what I would like to see is President Biden take a cognitive test. I think everybody going forward in the line of succession should have a neurological exam on a regular basis.” Graham said that all nominees for president going forward should have to take neurological exams as part of an overall health examination that is released to the public. “We need to make sure that the people who are going to be in the line of succession are capable of being commander in chief under dire circumstances,” he said. “Here’s what I worry about, that our allies see a compromised Joe Biden, that our enemies see a compromised Joe Biden, and I’m offended by the idea that he shouldn’t take a competency test, given all the evidence in front of us. He is not only in denial. This is a dangerous time for the American people to have somebody at the ship – leading the ship of state who seems to be compromised.” A few minutes later he again reiterated his concerns about Biden, saying that he was “very concerned that this man is not capable of being commander in chief for four more months.” WATCH:

Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) indicated over the weekend that he still backs President Joe Biden to be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee this fall against President Donald Trump. Sanders made the remarks during a Sunday CBS News interview on “Face The Nation” with Robert Costa when asked about the state of the race following Biden’s disastrous debate performance. “President Biden can clearly defeat Donald Trump, the most dangerous president in the history of this country,” Sanders said. “And the choice is quite clear.” Sanders that the area where he is “critical of the Biden campaign” is that they are not going far enough left on policy. “It’s one thing to talk about your record over the last three-and-a-half years, which is a strong record, but the American people are hurting, 60 percent of our people living paycheck to paycheck; 25 percent of elderly people are trying to get by on $15,000 a year or less,” he said. “The American people want an agenda for the next four years that speaks to the needs of the working class of this country. And, frankly, I don’t think the president has brought that agenda forward. He has got to say, I am prepared to take on corporate greed, massive income and wealth inequality and stand with the working class in this country. He does that, he’s going to win, and win big.” Sanders said that he has already done multiple campaign events for Biden and that will continue to do so. “What we’re talking about now is not a Grammy Award contest for best singer,” he said. “Biden is old. He’s not as articulate as he once was. I wish he could jump up the steps on Air Force One. He can’t.” “What we have got to focus on is policy,” he continued. “Whose policies have and will benefit the vast majority of the people in this country? Who has the guts to take on corporate America? Who is talking about expanding Medicare so we cover dental, hearing and vision? Who’s talking about raising the cap on the taxes that people pay into Social Security, so we can raise social security benefits and extend the life of Social Security for 75 years?” Sanders added that Biden should promise to deliver a new vision for the country that amounts to a far-left wishlist if Democrats win the House, Senate, and White House — even though they held all three during Biden’s first two years in office. “I find it personally insulting that The New York Times and all these media organizations go out front page, ‘oh, this is what the billionaire campaign donors feel’,” he late added. “Well, to hell with the billionaire campaign donors. Let’s worry about the working class of this country and what their needs are.” When asked about efforts from Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) to hold talks about possibly replacing Biden, Sanders said that he would have no part of those talks because Warner is “one of the more conservative members of the Democratic Caucus.” “Biden had a terrible debate performance. I think he’s done better since,” he said. “He’s got to do better again. And I know that that is a legitimate concern. But I think, most importantly now, this is not a beauty contest. It’s not a Grammy Award contest. It is a contest of who stands with the vast majority of the people in this country, the elderly, the children, working class, the poor. Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro slammed major legacy media outlets for their recent, and late-coming, coverage of President Joe Biden’s health. Shapiro appeared on Fox News’ “Media Buzz” with host Howard Kurtz on Sunday to discuss the blowback against Biden in the media since his June 27 presidential debate against former President Donald Trump in Atlanta. During the debate, Biden appeared feeble and struggled to make sense in his answers to some questions. Shapiro compared the media coverage of Biden’s mental decline to coverage of the immigration crisis along the U.S. southern border. The Daily Wire host said that in both cases, major sections of the media were late to acknowledging the facts. “What you saw in some of these cases, the border in particular, was, sort of, people arriving late on the scene. The media for the first few months basically denied anything was happening at the border, downplayed it, and then, of course, as it became undeniable, then you have to cover it,” Shapiro said. “Biden’s decline is undeniable, and so the media now have to cover it,” he continued. “That shouldn’t be the job of the media. The media should be first on the scene, not last on the scene. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) slammed left-wing NBC News host Kristen Welker during an interview on Sunday over President Joe Biden’s political prosecutions against former President Donald Trump. Vance made the remarks during an interview on the network’s “Meet The Press” program when asked if Trump would go after the Biden family if he were to win in November. “Well, first of all, Kristen, I find it interesting how much the media and the Democrats have lost their mind over this particular quote,” he said. “Donald Trump is talking about appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Joe Biden for wrongdoing. Joe Biden has done exactly that for the last few years and has done far more in addition to that to engage in a campaign of lawfare against his political opposition. I think what Donald Trump is simply saying is we ought to investigate the prior administration.” “There are obviously many instances of wrongdoing,” he continued. “The House Oversight Committee has identified a number of corrupt business transactions that may or may not be criminal. Of course you have to investigate to find out. So I think Donald Trump’s saying, ‘look, let’s do the basic work of investigating wrongdoing,’ is a totally reasonable thing for him to do. And frankly, the Biden administration has done far worse. So if you think that what Donald Trump is proposing is a threat to democracy, isn’t what Biden has already done a massive threat to our system of law and government?” Welker tried to absolve Biden from the controversy by noting that he did not directly hire the special prosecutor in the Trump cases. “I have to reject the premise here. Joe Biden appointed the Attorney General, Merrick Garland, who of course answers to Joe Biden, can be fired by Joe Biden,” Vance fired back. “So the idea that the Biden administration has nothing to do with the appointment of the special prosecutor, I think, completely betrays a misunderstanding of how our system of government actually works. And of course, Kristen, we have to make this point, Kristen, that the prosecution of Donald Trump in New York, which I think now has fundamentally been thrown in doubt by this immunity case, one of the main guys was a Department of Justice official in the Biden administration who jumped ship to join a local prosecutor’s office to go after Donald Trump.” When Welker again tried to downplay the ties between the Biden administration and the criminal cases against Trump, Vance fired back: “Well, Kristen, first of all you said that it happens all the time, that the number three person in the Department of Justice jumped ship to join a local prosecutor’s office to go after the president’s political opponent? Before I let you go: can you say unequivocally- unequivocally, here and now, that you will accept the results of the 2024 election no matter what they are? JD VANCE: So long as it's a free and fair election, Kristen, of course, we will. We will use constitutional processes to challenge issues if we think there are issues, but if it's a free and fair election we will do what the Constitution requires, we will respect the results and I expect these results are going to be to reelect Donald Trump. WELKER: It was a free and fair election in 2020, Donald Trump took his concerns to court. He lost in court but he has not conceded. Do you understand that when you refuse to commit unequivocally, that feeds into people's concerns- skepticism about the nation's electoral process? VANCE: Well, Kristen, I don't agree with that, actually. I think that feeding into people's concerns about our electoral process is one half of America's political segment, they won't support legislation that makes it harder for illegal aliens to vote. They won’t support universal voter ID in our elections even though you have to present I.D. to do almost anything in this country. I think taking people’s concerns seriously about election fraud… WELKER: Senator…Senator…Senator, it’s already against the law… VANCE: …is the way to reinforce security and confidence in our elections. WELKER: Senator, it's already against the law for non-citizens to vote. But just on that very point: when you, when others refuse to say, “yes, we will accept the election results”, do you understand how that undermines people's confidence in the electoral system? WELKER: But Kristen, what I just said is I don't agree with that. What I think actually undermines people's confidence in the electoral system is when the media is incurious about obvious examples of problems in our electoral system. I think we’ve got great elections, but a lot of things could be better in certain states. I want to work to make that happen so the American people have greater confidence in our elections. That’s what I’ll keep doing.  This week, the House of Representatives takes up legislation requiring proof of United States citizenship prior to voting in elections. Axios notes that Democrats are whipping against this bill: State of play: The House is set to vote next week on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or SAVE Act, which would require "documentary proof of United States citizenship" to vote in federal elections. That could include a passport, a photo ID card that proves a voter was born in the U.S. or another form of photo ID along with supporting documentation such as a birth certificate, the bill says. The legislation would require non-citizens to be removed from voter registration rolls, require election officials to ask voter registration applicants for proof of citizenship and open them up to legal consequences if they do not. Driving the news: In a whip question — a roundup of the coming week's votes with instructions for how leadership wants rank-and-file members to vote — House Minority Whip Katherine Clark's (D-Mass.) office told House Democrats they are "urged to VOTE NO" on the bill. Additionally, the majority-Democrat Wisconsin Supreme Court reversed a prior ruling limiting placement of ballot drop boxes. This is the backdrop against which Welker makes her baity election questions. But these issues never make it into Welker’s line of questioning. To the blinkered Regime Media, election acceptance means that Republicans must supinely accept an election result regardless of outcome and evidence of trickery, and without questioning last-minute rule changes. Anyone legitimately questioning these is smeared as an “election denialist” or, God forbid, an ‘insurrectionist".  Vance sees through this nonsense, and forcefully brings the issue back to election integrity, which Welker can't counter. The rest of the interview followed this template, whether on abortion, Project 2025, the vice presidential selection process, or the Supreme Court ruling clarifying presidential immunity- which the left and their media enablers are trying to spin as some weird extra constitutional carte blanche authority. In a week where all focus is both on the president’s declining cognitive ability and the media’s failure to conceal it from the American public, Welker tried albeit briefly to shift focus- and failed badly.  

The ongoing discourse surrounding the very public decline of President Biden’s mental faculties has broken some brains among the Regime Media commentariat as they stake their positions in the grand succession game. Among those, former DNC Chair Donna Brazile. Foregone conclusion that Kamala Harris gets the nomination? DONNA BRAZILE: It would be very difficult to replace somebody who's been vetted, who knows the job and has done a tremendous -- I think she's done a tremendous job and to ask the delegates elected to the convention, who are Biden-Harris supporters, to bypass Kamala Harris because some Republicans and a few others may not like her, it would be political malpractice. As I tell everyone, Kamala Harris has earned the right to be considered if -- I mean, we got a lot of "what if” scenarios. But- she’s strong, she’s down in Louisiana, she was able- she had a rally last night with 60,000 people, I’ve heard from so many folks including my family- they say she’s fired up and ready to go. And they’re not going to replace her.  Sounds impressive, right? Brazile’s advocacy for Harris was reasonably fine until she got to the “but”, and made a whopper of a claim that doesn’t survive so much as a basic Google search. Needless to say, there was no Kamala Harris rally attended by 60,000 people in Louisiana. There was the 30th Essence Festival of Culture, the concert portions of which are held in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. And Harris popped in on Friday night, to greet the crowd and promote her next appearance. This is obviously not a rally. It was a joy to be back in New Orleans this weekend to mark 30 years of @essencefest. Here’s how the event was described in The Guardian’s egregiously giddy writeup, which desperately seeks inclusion among the items touting Harris’ next reboot: The ideal understudy is talented but inconspicuous, prepared at all times to step into the top role and yet content to never do so. In New Orleans, at the 30th annual Essence Festival of Culture, gone was the Kamala Harris of the drab brown, chair-matching suit and the halting, technical commentary about American policy needs. That was the Harris who spoke here in 2019, then a Democratic presidential primary contender trailed by fewer than 10 reporters. Instead, on Saturday, Harris – dressed in a bright teal suit and tailed by a press contingent which had expanded to more than four times its previous size – spoke to a standing-room-only crowd in a room equipped to seat more than 500 people. Not a rally, either. 500 people is precisely 1/120th of the people Brazile said were present at this aforementioned and now proven to be imaginary rally in support of the vice president and potential Democrat presidential nominee.  Brazile’s claims went unchecked and unchallenged. Part of what bolsters the perception of the media as little more than Democrat stenographers and talking point dispensers is the longtime practice of hiring partisan Democrat operatives as “analysts”. In particular, the “analyst” that fed presidential debate questions to the Clinton campaign, who is now emboldened to fabricate events out of whole cloth.
