Not content with all the awesome news we’ve had so far this week, then how about this news story that’s just been sent to us by our good friend Liqmatrix. It’s the work in progress game of ‘Dreadnought Assault’ by kiwilove and playsoft. A rather awesome looking WIP scrolling shoot ’em up for the Atari 7800, which can be downloaded and played right now. To coincide with this news story, if you don’t have an emulator installed or an Atari 7800 however, you could can at least check out the footage of this work in progress game below. We’ve picked it up again and hope to make something playable from it. Your task is to destroy all the turrets on the dreadnought, collect a hostage and return to the launch bay. This is complicated by a host of different enemies attacking you. Use the joystick to move your ship, left trigger to fire and right trigger to flip direction. If you destroy a dragon, it will be followed by a pickup that you can collect: S = Shield boost P = Protector W = Weapon upgrade “The game finishes when your shield is fully depleted. There will be 7 dreadnoughts in total, but I’ve only sequenced the first 2 so far”. Multiple people sustained injuries in a shark attack at South Padre Island on July 4th. The same shark reportedly attacked four swimmers enjoying the waters off the southern coast of Texas. Police said the attacks occurred around 11 a.m. local time along Beach Access 14. Authorities received a call reporting a ‘severe’ shark bite to the leg. One victim had a bite-shaped chunk missing from her calf, the New York Post reports. The woman was one of two who were bitten by what officials believe was the same shark — a man was severely bitten in his leg around 11 a.m., officials said. The man’s father-in-law said he saw the victim get suddenly dragged under the water. “I started swimming towards him, and he jumped out of the water saying, ‘Shark, shark, shark,’ and that’s when adrenaline kicked in. I started swimming after him,” Rayner Cardenas told KRGV. Two other swimmers “encountered” the shark but were not seriously hurt, Texas Parks and Wildlife officials said. One was grazed and received minor injuries, while a man fought off the shark and received stitches. Investigators suspect the same shark is to blame for the “abnormal and unprecedented” attacks. “Four shark attacks reported at South Padre Island in Texas during Fourth of July celebrations. Game Warden Capt. Chris Dowdy says all the attacks happened within two hours of each other,” Collin Rugg wrote. “One woman had a chunk bitten out her her leg as Good Samaritans were seen dragging her to safety. Two men and two females were reportedly attacked. One of the men was sent to the hospital. His current condition is unknown,” he added. Footage from a beachgoer who witnessed the incident showed a shark swimming near the shore in the vicinity of that attack. A second person was bitten by the shark, while one was grazed and another injured fending off the shark, Dowdy told KRGV. The second bite victim was also taken to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. One of the two bite victims was flown out for “further treatment,” Police said Thursday night. Officials had previously said four separate shark bites were reported before later clarifying the nature of the incidents. The shark has escaped to open waters and there is no plan to contain the shark at this time, Dowdy told the station. WATCH:

A lime green liquid leaked from the ceiling and formed fluorescent puddles onto the floor at Miami International Airport on July 4th. The mysterious fluid dripped from the ceiling in Concourse G around 9 a.m. E.T. “We would like to thank our passengers in Concourse G for their patience & understanding this morning. At approximately 9 am, we received reports of a broken pipe in Concourse G. Crews were immediately dispatched to investigate and it was determined that the liquid from the leak was not hazardous. Cleanup efforts were completed within 90 minutes,” Miami International Airport wrote. We would like to thank our passengers in Concourse G for their patience & understanding this morning. At approximately 9 am, we received reports of a broken pipe in Concourse G. Crews were immediately dispatched to investigate and it was determined that the liquid from the leak… pic.twitter.com/kN7TE9DJ0Z — Miami Int'l Airport (@iflymia) July 4, 2024 NBC 6 South Florida reports: Authorities originally said the mysterious liquid was glycol, but later said it was actually “water from the AC system with a green dye in it so if there if there is ever a leak it can traced to its source. Totally non-hazardous,” according to Miami-Dade Aviation Department Communications Director Greg Chin. The airport did not say it was experiencing any delays as a result, which is good, considering that TSA expects to screen a record number of people this July Fourth weekend. “The valve feeding the pipe has been closed to stop the leaking, and cleanup efforts are now underway,” the airport said in a statement. Part of the area was sectioned off with yellow caution tape as travelers snapped pictures and took videos. Another person recording the floor near a gate says: ‘Oh my God, look at the airport. What happened?’ The camera pans to several seating areas in the airport where almost the entire floor has been covered in the green fluid. The airport said it was not experiencing any flight delays as a result of the leak. A spokesman said: ‘The valve feeding the pipe has been closed to stop the leaking, and cleanup efforts are now underway. ‘We would like to thank our passengers in Concourse G for their patience and understanding.’ Glycol is a ‘useful industrial compound found in many consumer products’, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. ‘Examples include antifreeze, hydraulic brake fluids, some stamp pad inks, ballpoint pens, solvents, paints, plastics, films, and cosmetics.’
