‘Boil Water Advisory’ Issued In Washington DC

The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) issued a ‘Boil Water Advisory’ for all of Washington DC. The advisory also included the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Reagan National Airport. “Emergency officials have issued a boil advisory for the entirety of Washington, DC, including the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Reagan National Airport, due to a drop in water supply from the Washington Aqueduct. This is a precautionary notice to all customers to boil water that may be ingested due to water of unknown quality,” Rawsalerts wrote. “They are asking customers too not drink the water without boiling it first. This advisory will remain in place until follow-up testing confirms the water is safe to drink,” the post added. #BREAKING: Emergency officials have just issued a Boil water advisory for the entirety of Washington, DC #Washington | #DC Emergency officials have issued a boil advisory for the entirety of Washington, DC, including the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Reagan… pic.twitter.com/JsLEC9oO4H — R A W S A L E R T S (@rawsalerts) July 4, 2024 DC Water instructed customers to: • Discard any beverages and ice made after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. • Run cold water prior to boiling. • Run cold water for 2 minutes if known sources of lead are present prior to boiling. • Bring water to a rolling boil for 1 minute and let it cool. • Store cooled water in a clean, covered container. Cooled, boiled water or bottled water should be used for: • Drinking • Brushing teeth • Preparing and cooking food • Washing fruits and vegetables • Preparing infant formula • Making ice • Washing dishes by hand • Giving water to pets *Do not use home filtering devices in place of boiled or bottled water. DC Water issued a Boil Water Advisory today for all customers in the District of Columbia, as well as the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery and Reagan National Airport, due to a drop in water supply from the Washington Aqueduct. The current water treatment must be adjusted to meet current water demand for all our customers. To ensure there is enough water for firefighting activities, the Aqueduct resumed pumping water from the Dalecarlia Treatment Plant Wednesday evening. We anticipate the water could have increased turbidity and therefore providing this cautionary boil water advisory. Turbidity as a measure of the cloudiness of water as described by the EPA. It is used to indicate water quality and filtration effectiveness (such as whether disease-causing organisms are present). Turbidity has no health effects. However, turbidity can interfere with disinfection and provide a medium for microbial growth. Turbidity may indicate the presence of disease-causing organisms. These organisms include bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea and associated headaches. They may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems. The symptoms above are not only caused by microbes in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers. We have no information that the water was contaminated by this incident, but we issue this advisory as a precaution while we test the water. We will update you when the water supply has returned to normal production and meets water quality standards. “UPDATE – All customers under the precautionary boil water advisory can use tap water for all purposes after it was confirmed that drinking water provided by the Washington Aqueduct never deviated from U.S. EPA established water quality standard,” DC Water stated. UPDATE – All customers under the precautionary boil water advisory can use tap water for all purposes after it was confirmed that drinking water provided by the Washington Aqueduct never deviated from U.S. EPA established water quality standard. https://t.co/gEWpnumCYj — DC Water (@dcwater) July 4, 2024 Axios reports: D.C. and Arlington County officials issued alerts early Thursday that a precautionary boil water advisory across the region had been lifted. Residents can go back to the tap and Brita for now. Residents across the entire city and all of Arlington County had been advised late Wednesday to boil water for one minute before drinking it or using it in food prep. The Army Corps of Engineers discovered turbidity issues with water supplied by the Washington Aqueduct, per DC Water.

After Previously Threatening Justices, Cowardly Lyin’ Schumer Assails SCOTUS Again

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer apparently is only able to screw up some courage when he’s speaking to what he feels is his party’s political advantage. During the BLM riots, while NYPD cops were being assaulted and their cruisers set on fire near his Brooklyn office, he couldn’t be found—Ditto when hundreds of elderly were dying […] The post After Previously Threatening Justices, Cowardly Lyin’ Schumer Assails SCOTUS Again appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Only 1 Dem Beats Trump In Hypothetical Matchup, Poll Shows

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump trails just one Democrat in a hypothetical matchup, according to a new poll: former first lady Michelle Obama, who has said several times that she will not run for president in 2024. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released this week showed Trump tied with President Joe Biden and leading Vice President Kamala Harris, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, The Hill reported. Trump, however, fell far behind the wife of former President Barack Obama, according to the poll. Michelle Obama bested Trump in the poll by 11 points, garnering 50% compared to Trump’s 39%. Trump tied with Biden at 40% in the Reuters/Ipsos survey and beat Harris by one point. In hypothetical matchups with Newsom and Whitmer, Trump came out on top by three and five points, respectively. The poll of 1,070 U.S. adults was conducted just days after Biden’s poor debate performance, which led to some Democrats and Left-leaning political commentators calling for the president to step out of the race and clear the way for another candidate to run against Trump. Ms. Obama has repeatedly said she is not considering a presidential run this cycle. Earlier this year, she told NBC News in a statement that she was backing Biden’s re-election bid. “As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Obama’s communications director said in March. “Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.” The president and his family have maintained that he has no intention of dropping out of the race. The most powerful elected Democrats in Congress and across the country have publicly voiced support for Biden to continue with his re-election campaign, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the governors who have been floated as potential Biden replacements, such as Newsom, Whitmer, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore. Trump blasted Biden in remarks he made that were caught on video after the debate, calling the 81-year-old president a “broken down pile of crap,” adding that he thinks Biden is “quitting the race.” “I got him out of the — and that means we have Kamala,” he said. “I think she’s going to be better — she’s so bad. She’s so pathetic. She’s so f***ing bad.” .@realDonaldTrump via Truth Social. #NoTaxOnTips pic.twitter.com/mVPQg9M4L4 — Dan Scavino Jr.??? (@DanScavino) July 4, 2024
