Numerous notable figures slammed the verdict on Thursday in the highly controversial Manhattan criminal trial against former President Donald Trump. The decision is the culmination of a weeks-long courtroom battle in which Trump claimed he was the target of a “political persecution” as he runs another campaign for a second term in the White House.
