South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster signed a bill into law this week that bans transgender procedures and treatments for minors. Local media reported that South Carolina became the 25th state to pass laws cracking down on the highly controversial treatments. “I signed the Help Not Harm bill into law, which protects our state’s children from irreversible gender transition procedures and bans public funds from being used for them,” McMaster said in a statement posted to X. “I look forward to joining legislators and supporters at a ceremonial bill signing in the Upstate next week.” The Associated Press reported that the law bans medical professionals from “performing gender-transition surgeries, prescribing puberty blockers and overseeing hormone treatments for patients under 18.” Doctors are able to prescribe some of the treatments for minors in legitimate circumstances that the treatments were designed for, an example of which includes giving a puberty blocker to a child who has a medical condition that causes them to start puberty as young as age 4, the report said. It also requires schools to notify parents if their child wants to use a different name or pronouns. England’s National Health Service (NHS) announced earlier this year that children will no longer be given puberty blocker prescriptions after experts concluded that there were serious safety concerns. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The NHS’ decision comes after it commissioned the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to review the published evidence on Gonadotrophin Releasing Hormone Analogues (GnRHa), also known as puberty blockers, which prevent the body from making sex hormones that are needed for an individual to growth and develop into a healthy adult. “NHS England has carefully considered the evidence review conducted by NICE (2020) and has identified and reviewed any further published evidence available to date,” said an NHS England policy document released on Tuesday. “We have concluded that there is not enough evidence to support the safety or clinical effectiveness of PSH to make the treatment routinely available at this time.” The investigation was launched after there was a massive uptick in the number of children who were being referred to the Gender Identity Development Service, a national health clinic in the U.K. The number went from 250 children in 2012 to more than 5,000 in 2022 as the transgender movement gained steam as a social trend and experts warned that it was having a contagion effect. Socialist agitators are enlisting children to skip school on May 24 as part of a “School Strike for Gaza.” Organizing materials viewed by The Daily Wire show that a group of self-described “politicized” and “militant” teachers is urging students at high schools in and around Washington, D.C. to march to the White House. The group plans to gather at McPherson Square blocks away from the White House to  “demand that the Biden administration and Congress 1) End unconditional military aid to Israel 2) Call for a permanent and immediate ceasefire.” Though the materials portray it as an event run by students — “children, just like us, murdered,” it says —  they also suggest that the event is actually planned by adults using children as props. “We have planned this action alongside veteran organizers who have planned numerous peaceful, unescalated, and legal protests at the exact same locations,” it says. The event materials, obtained by the watchdog group Parents Defending Education and shared with The Daily Wire, say that free lunch will be provided and “we are not anticipating any legal troubles or arrests, but we do have lawyers, police liaisons, and marshals on deck in the off-chance the police escalate against us.” The organizers say “There are multiple pathways to striking from school, and only you make the call on what’s best for your situation.” It provides a form letter for students to submit to their school saying, “I will join a peaceful march/rally alongside hundreds of students across the DMV who will be striking from school and joining a rally instead… I can no longer stand by idly and do business as usual as our government funds the slaughter of tens of thousands.” The event was promoted by Angry Education Workers, “a community of revolutionary education workers who want a new society,” which creates what it calls “agitprop” saying “black trans lives matter.” The group boasted that “a politicized core of militants is emerging among the rank-and-file of mainstream teachers’ unions — the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association” and “we hope to push this as far as we can.” It said Solidarity Not Silence, a group of “anticapitalist” educations who successfully agitated for the reinstatement of anti-Semitic teachers in Montgomery County, Maryland, is also involved with the student strike. In November, pro-Palestinian protesters vandalized the McPherson Square Metro station and vehicles around it, as well as covered a statue of Benjamin Franklin with a Palestinian flag, Fox News reported. The group also has connections to a network of liberal nonprofit groups. One of the individuals editing the Google Doc where organizers collaborated was Jamison Ford, who is on the Grantmaking Council at a group called The Black Girl Freedom Fund. It did not return a request for comment on whether it was involved with the march. According to tax records, the Black Girl Freedom Fund is sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisers and funded by billionaires including the the Marguerite Casey Foundation, real estate developer John Picerne’s foundation, the Estee Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation, the Raikes Foundation — led by the former CEO of the Gates Foundation — and the Foundation for a Just Society, which says it is dedicated to “the liberation of women, girls, and LGBTQI people.” Women and gays are subject to severe oppression under Hamas. In D.C. where the protest is being planned, only 23% of eighth graders are proficient in reading, according to the Nation’s Report Card. That test last evaluated geography in 2018, finding that only 25% of eighth graders in the United States were proficient in geography, and 10% couldn’t even remember if they learned geography in school. Alex Nester, an investigative fellow for Parents Defending Education, said children are “encouraged to be mindless, hateful activists.” “It’s bad enough that the protest’s organizers are encouraging students to forgo vital classroom time for a political demonstration, especially while proficiency rates in D.C. schools remain abysmal,” Nester said. “What’s far worse is the fact that the protest organizers ignore critical facts about the conflict and instead encourage kids to blame and hate Israel. Nowhere does it acknowledge that Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 Israelis on October 7, or that Hamas leaders have repeatedly denied Israel’s offers for a ceasefire. Instead, kids are encouraged to be mindless, hateful activists, and that is shameful.”

Israel released previously unseen footage from the October 7 massacre this week that showed Hamas terrorists kidnapping several young Israeli girls. The country said that Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger, Daniela Gilboa, and Naama Levy have been held for nearly 230 days inside Gaza. “The families of Liri, Karina, Agam, Daniella and Naama have approved the release of the footage to raise awareness about the horrors their daughters are facing as hostages in Gaza,” Israel said in a statement. “Please share.” The footage shows just one example of the incredible horrors that were inflicted on the Israeli people by genocidal terrorists on October 7. The Palestinian terrorists murdered more than 1,200 people, wounded more than 5,000, kidnapped hundreds, and embarked on a campaign of rape and torture against women. The footage, which was recorded around 9 a.m. at the Nahal Oz base, shows the five young girls severely bloodied while wearing pajamas. “You dogs, we will step on you!” one of the Islamic terrorists said. “Take picture of them,” another terrorist said. One of the girls said that she had friends in Gaza while another asked to speak with someone who spoke English. Once the girls arrived back in Gaza, the terrorists were standing around the vehicle cheering. A group of elected Democrats released a letter on Monday attacking New York City parents for their “hateful” criticism of the city education department’s transgender sports policy. Back in March, a parent advisory council representing one of Manhattan’s largest public school districts passed a resolution calling for a “comprehensive review” of the city’s policy allowing trans-identifying students to play on a team of the opposite sex. The parent council for District 2, which includes the West Village, Hell’s Kitchen, and the Upper East Side, said the 2019 transgender sports policies “present challenges to youth athletes and coaches.” In its non-binding resolution, the parent council called on New York City’s public school district to “immediately convene” a review committee that includes parents, female athletes, coaches, and “relevant medical professionals and evolutionary biology experts.” The city education department already plans to reject the resolution and does not intend to change the transgender sports policy, education department officials have said. The group of 18 New York Democrats attacked the parent council for the “hateful, discriminatory and actively harmful” resolution and demanded it be formally rescinded. Jerry Nadler, Assemblyman Tony Simone, State Senators Liz Krueger and Brad Hoylman-Sigal, and five City Council members. We stand firmly in support of trans people everywhere, and urge that the CEC does the same.” Other parent school advisory boards in the city have expressed similar concerns with the transgender sports policy, and in some cases, the debate has gotten extremely heated. Earlier this month, the Manhattan borough president said he is ousting one member of a different community board for supporting the parent council’s resolution. Notably, more than half of New York Democrats, 52% support requiring high school athletes to “only compete with others of the same sex that they were assigned at birth,” according to a Siena College poll last month. About two-thirds of New York voters overall said the same.
