I have long legs and having to be able to stretch them out while cruising is very relaxing to me. When I rode my Sportster years ago, I had forward controls. Once I got use to that feeling of extending my legs, not extending them, I felt cramped and uncomfortable while riding. Iranian media, according to multiple reports, said rescue teams were dispatched to the site, though there have been multiple conflicting reports regarding the incident. Search teams later told Iranian state TV that officials have found the helicopter and made contact with one passenger and one crew member. Raisi was traveling in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province near the city of Jolfa at the time of the incident. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and the governor of the East Azerbaijan province were traveling with the president, along with other officials. “The esteemed president and company were on their way back aboard some helicopters and one of the helicopters was forced to make a hard landing due to the bad weather and fog,” Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said in comments aired on state TV. “Various rescue teams are on their way to the region but because of the poor weather and fogginess it might take time for them to reach the helicopter,” he added. “The region is a bit (rugged) and it’s difficult to make contact. We are waiting for rescue teams to reach the landing site and give us more information,” he continued. One local government official used the word “crash” to describe the incident, but he acknowledged to an Iranian newspaper that he had yet to reach the site himself. Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who served under former President Barack Obama, said over the weekend that American political leaders need to do a much better job educating the public about the importance of foreign policy issues and how they impact things in the U.S. Gates made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News’s “Face The Nation” with Margaret Brennan when asked how he would explain the significance of foreign policy to the American people. “I think our leaders need to bring these issues home to the American people in a very direct way,” he said. “So for example, using historical examples about how our delaying taking seriously foreign threats, has ultimately resulted in the deaths of thousands and thousands of Americans – young men and women in conflict. The world isn’t going to ignore us just because we think we can ignore the world.” “So the first thing is to make clear that if we don’t deal with these problems early, they become very dangerous problems and very costly problems for the United States down the road,” he continued. He said another factor that needed to be emphasized is the interconnected global economy and how a disruption overseas could have a major impact at home. Some of the students who on Sunday attended the graduation ceremony at Morehouse College, one of the country’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), turned their back on President Joe Biden as he delivered a commencement address. The Associated Press reported that at least seven graduates and a faculty member sat with their backs turned as Biden spoke. A group of students even walked out as Biden received an honorary degree, according to The New York Times. At least some of the graduates at the Georgia school appeared to be demonstrating in response to the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip as some of them were seen wearing a Palestinian flag or keffiyeh scarves around their shoulders or necks. Kendrick Brown, the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Morehouse, told staff in an email the college was extending “an opportunity for faculty with different perspectives on the selection of our Commencement speaker to ask questions and make comments.” He added that students would also be able to “engage” with college President David Thomas while declaring, “Please know going into this conversation that the College does not plan to rescind its accepted invitation to President Biden.” Polling in recent months indicates that more black voters, particularly among black men, are ditching Biden and said they plan to support former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election across several battleground states — including Georgia.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said during an interview over the weekend that he fully supports former President Donald Trump’s purported plan to conduct widespread deportations of illegal aliens should he become president again. Rubio, who is a rumored vice presidential candidate, made the remarks during a Sunday interview on NBC News’s “Meet The Press” with Kristen Welker. “If re-elected, Donald Trump has said he’s willing to build migrant detention camps and deploy the U.S. military to deport the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country,” she said. “It would be the largest deportation operation in American history. Do you support that plan?” Rubio noted that the 11 million number was low and that the actual number could be as high as 30 million illegal aliens, as nearly 9-10 million have entered the country under President Joe Biden alone. “The answer to your question is yes,” he said. “We cannot absorb 25, 30 million people who entered this country illegally. They’re here illegally. What country on earth would tolerate that? We don’t even know who some of these, most of these people are. They talk about vetting; vetting them with what? They’re coming from nations that don’t even have document systems in many cases. Yes, we are going to have to do something. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to do something dramatic to remove people from this country that are here illegally, especially people we know nothing about. But 10 million, 11 million, that was the number 15 years ago. Today, it’s upwards of probably 25-30 million, maybe more.” When asked about his shift on the issue from several years ago, Rubio said that things have “completely changed” due to how out of control the situation has become since Biden was inaugurated.
