Country music legend Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella, confirmed this week that there had been a death in the family. As The Hill reported: Their younger sister, Stella Parton, posted to Facebook on Friday, writing that her “wonderful brother David Parton passed in the early hours of the morning.” She shared a similar post on Threads, saying, “My brother David left us this morning. He finally got his angel wings. RIP dear soul. Love you forever.” Although there was no immediate cause of death announced, funeral arrangements have reportedly already been made. As of Sunday, Dolly Parton had not made a public statement on the matter. Nevertheless, an array of social media users expressed condolences and offered prayers for the Parton family.
