A conservative group is challenging Oreo’s partnership with a “militant” LGBT organization with a new ad and a shareholder proposal calling out the popular cookie brand. The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) on Wednesday released an ad criticizing Oreo for supporting PFLAG (formerly Parents &; Friends of Lesbians and Gays)‚ one of the most prominent LGBT organizations in the country. The group has evolved to develop “a more militant activist intent with expansionist strategies‚” according to NLPC. The ad warns that PFLAG supports sexually explicit books that have cropped up in school libraries‚ including “This Book Is Gay‚” “Gender Queer‚” “Flamer‚” and “Lawn Boy.” In recent years‚ these four books have been flagged by parents in school districts across the country for their mature and‚ in some cases‚ pornographic content. They all made the American Library Association’s (ALA) list of the top 13 most challenged books of 2022. “Books like these are promoted in our schools and local libraries by PFLAG‚ and Oreo is supporting them‚” the NLPC ad’s narrator says. “Is your favorite sandwich cookie company grooming children? What happened to the kid-friendly cookie we all used to know and love? Don’t let PFLAG and Oreo corrupt your children‚” the ad says. PFLAG is an official supporter of Banned Books Week‚ an annual event that has promoted all four books‚ the NLPC noted. Oreo’s website says the cookie brand partners with PFLAG and encourages people to click a “support PFLAG” button that takes them to the LGBT organization’s website. Oreo also sponsored last year’s PFLAG National Convention‚ which had a panel on banned books in schools hosted by MSNBC host Ali Velshi. The NLPC made the Oreo ad “because of the threat an iconic brand so popular with kids poses by collaborating with the destructive gender ideology advocates and transgender surgery supporters at PFLAG‚” Paul Chesser‚ the director of the Corporate Integrity Project at the NLPC‚ told The Daily Wire. The National Legal and Policy Center also holds stock in Oreo’s parent company‚ Mondelez International‚ and has drafted a shareholder proposal calling for a committee to examine the risks of Oreo’s associations with groups like PFLAG. “Basically the proposal calls for the company to reconsider alliances with divisive political activists like PFLAG‚ and a report would at least produce more transparency about whatever else the company is doing‚” Chesser said. The shareholder proposal calls for the committee to issue a public report by the end of March 2025 and publish it on Mondelez International’s website. The proposal will be presented at the next shareholder meeting. It also notes that other companies have experienced customer backlash and damage to their bottom lines after taking a side on controversial cultural issues. Intifada refers to the organized and indiscriminate killing of Jewish civilians through terrorism. Palestinian terrorists launched the First Intifada in 1987 and the Second Intifada in 2000. Both used bombings to kill innocent Jewish civilians. Murder has no place in higher education. Like Mike Myers’ “Coffee Talk” bit on SNL‚ I can only say that Intifada is neither educational nor a higher ideal. The would-be panelists and attendees do not express sophistication‚ intellectualism‚ or empathy when they invoke murder. Instead‚ they only appeal to the worst elements of human emotions and hatred. The CUNY seminar operates in an axis of Jew-hatred holding together anti-Semitic social justice crusades both on and off college campuses. The event description accordingly states that it will “bring together organizers at Lehman College and the Bronx‚ and across CUNY and New York City‚ to highlight how students‚ workers‚ and our communities can act in solidarity to achieve justice in Palestine.” For social justice progressives‚ killing isn’t murder when it’s solidarity.  Make no mistake. These people want Intifada everywhere. But they refuse to sacrifice their respectability and thus cloak their complicity with murder in the deceptively polite aura of scholarly discussions. As a country‚ we cannot expect to defeat Jew-hatred as long as a critical mass of the public and academia buys into this deception and duplicity. In a 2023 graduation speech‚ CUNY Law student Fatima Mohammed indulged in anti-Semitic tropes that maliciously link Jews to murder and global finance. It was this combination of stereotypes that fueled the pogroms and Holocaust. No wonder Jewish students feel unwelcome in higher education. Every time they step on campus‚ they teleport back to a time and place when it was permissible – and popular – to persecute and kill Jews. Jews are not safe in higher education‚ but history shows us that we are safer when we fully understand the threats against us. The Holocaust developed so gradually over the 1930s and early 1940s in Germany and Austria‚ that many Jewish contemporaries remained complacently in denial about the threat until it was too late. Actor Kumail Nanjiani said that the terrible reviews of the Marvel film “Eternals” in 2021 affected his mental health so much that he went to therapy for it.  “The reviews were bad‚ and I was too aware of it‚” the 45-year-old said during a recent appearance on the podcast “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum‚” per The Hollywood Reporter. “I was reading every review and checking too much.” “It was really‚ really hard because Marvel thought that movie was going to be really‚ really well reviewed‚ so they lifted the embargo early and put it in some fancy movie festivals and they sent us on a big global tour to promote the movie right as the embargo lifted‚” Nanjiani explained.  Their plan backfired‚ however‚ and led to the actors promoting the film as many reviewers heaped criticism on it. “I think there was some weird soup in the atmosphere for why that movie got slammed so much‚ and I think not much of it has to do with the actual quality of the movie‚” the actor said. “It was really hard‚ and that was when I thought it was unfair to me and unfair to [my wife] Emily‚ and I can’t approach my work this way anymore. After actress Gina Carano filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Disney on Tuesday with support from Tesla and X owner Elon Musk‚ the tech billionaire has offered legal help to anyone “discriminated against by Disney or its subsidiaries.” Carano announced on X on Tuesday that her lawsuit‚ filed in the U.S. federal court for the Central District of California‚ was prompted in part by an offer from Musk who said in August of last year that X would fund the legal bill of anyone who was “unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform.” The “Terror on the Prairie” actress’ lawsuit was cheered by many people‚ especially conservatives who have long called out Disney’s leftward drift. Musk posted on Tuesday evening offering legal support for anyone who has faced discrimination from the media giant. “If you were discriminated against by Disney or its subsidiaries (ABC‚ ESPN‚ Marvel‚ etc)‚ just reply to this post to receive legal support‚” he wrote. The X owner’s post was a follow-up to a previous post in which he pointed to an ABC chart reportedly sent to showrunners‚ including producers at Disney‚ that listed its so-called “inclusion standards.” Musk called the standards “institutionalized racism and sexism.” The inclusion chart‚ which was reported on by The Hollywood Reporter in September 2020‚ sought to increase the inclusion of “Underrepresented Groups” in both on-screen and behind-the-scenes roles.
