It was hard to get through the 1970s without seeing Paul Williams pop up somewhere. Not only was he a prolific and famous songwriter‚ but he was also an actor who starred in many films and countless television shows and made frequent talk-show guest appearances because of his quick wit. He played all sorts of characters and sometimes even just himself. Here’s the official synopsis: Everyone has their own Chimera‚ something they try to achieve but never manage to find. For the band of tombaroli‚ thieves of ancient grave goods and archaeological wonders‚ the Chimera means redemption from work and the dream of easy wealth. For Arthur‚ the Chimera looks like the woman he lost‚ Beniamina. To find her‚ Arthur challenges the invisible‚ searches everywhere‚ goes inside the earth—in search of the door to the afterlife of which myths speak. In an adventurous journey between the living and the dead‚ between forests and cities‚ between celebrations and solitudes‚ the intertwined destinies of these characters unfold‚ all in search of the Chimera. The film premiered at Cannes last year and is making its way to the U.S. in a few weeks. News Osiris Linda Hamilton’s Next Role Involves Being Hunted by Aliens At least she’ll have Brianna Hildebrand and LaMonica Garrett around for company. Along with Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool)‚ LaMonica Garrett (1883)‚ and Max Martini (Pacific Rim)‚ Hamilton stars in the upcoming film Osiris‚ which Deadline describes as an “under-the-radar sci-fi action movie” in which a team of Special Forces commandos are abducted by aliens. “When they wake up aboard the ship‚ they quickly discover they are being hunted by a merciless alien race‚” Deadline explains. This sounds very relaxing and not at all like I will have to cover my eyes while watching at least forty percent of it. Hamilton is‚ of course‚ known for her role in the Terminator franchise‚ most recently Terminator: Dark Fate‚ pictured above‚ which brought back both Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger (for better or worse). More recently‚ she played General Eleanor Franklin on Resident Alien. Hildebrand was extremely memorable as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool and its sequel; she will return to that role in this year’s Deadpool 3. On the smaller screen‚ she’s also appeared on Lucifer and The Exorcist. You have almost certainly seen LaMonica Garrett in something; his resume includes Designated Survivor‚ 1883‚ Sons of Anarchy‚ and several Arrowverse shows‚ on which he played The Monitor/The Anti-Monitor/Mar Novu (it’s complicated). Max Martini has the face of a man born to play military roles; he has been in an episode or two of everything from Walker‚ Texas Ranger to Castle to The Purge‚ and‚ like so many actors of his generation‚ was in Saving Private Ryan. Osiris comes from director William Kaufman‚ who also co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Paul Reichelt. Kaufman’s resume includes a solid number of action films‚ including The Channel‚ which also starred Max Martini and was co-written with Reichelt. Post-production on the movie is expected to wrap up later this year; no release date has been announced. The latest trailer for the movie‚ in fact‚ is to dissuade its viewers from thinking that teddy bears are sweet and carousel nightlights are adorable. We also see a young girl—the owner of that nice little teddy bear—sufficiently traumatized by her stuffy. According to writer-director Jeff Wadlow‚ that specific type of terror is intentional. “Not all imaginary friends are friendly… at least that’s what the characters at the heart of Imaginary are about to find out‚” Wadlow said in a statement. “I love making films that play with the audience’s perception of what is real and what is not‚ so a horror movie that explores the frightening possibilities of imaginary friends was the perfect sandbox for me to play in.” Here’s the official synopsis‚ which expands on what goes down in the film: When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family‚ her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning‚ Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.
