Report: Fifty Al Qaeda Arrested in Denver in Two Months

A report that fifty Al Qaeda were arrested in Denver over the past two months should alarm Americans‚ but it likely won’t. We knew in 2009 there was a link to Al-Qaeda in Denver. A potential attack on New York in 2009 was traced to Denver. We have heard the radical sermons in Mosques in […] The post Report: Fifty Al Qaeda Arrested in Denver in Two Months appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Hundreds Rally In Texas After ‘Take Our Borders Back’ Convoy Reaches Border

QUEMADO‚ TX — Hundreds of concerned Americans from around the country met on the Texas border as part of the “Take Our Border Back” convoy to rally in support of securing the United States’ southern border. The rally goers met at a private ranch in Quemado‚ Texas‚ a small town just north of Eagle Pass‚ a major hotspot for illegal border crossings that the Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety took over from federal Border Patrol authorities. The Take Our Border Back convoy arrived at the ranch on Friday night‚ with a long line of semi-trucks and passenger cars filing into the property for over an hour. An estimated 300 vehicles were present at the event‚ the Kinney County Sheriff’s Office stated. Anson Bills‚ who manages the ranch‚ told The Daily Wire that Americans concerned about the border crisis were invited to the ranch for a peaceful weekend of prayer in support of a secure border and the members of law enforcement working to fix the crisis. The attendees were welcomed by people waving flags and selling merchandise out front on the street. Massive crowd thanking Texas authorities for working to secure the border. Republican Congressman Keith Self from Texas’ 3rd congressional district attended the event after appearing in Eagle Pass to reaffirm his support of Governor Greg Abbott and other Governor’s across the country who’ve taken action to secure the southern border. The rally came as the Biden administration and Texas Governor Greg Abbott became embroiled in a feud over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass. Texas authorities defied a demand from the Biden administration to allow Border Patrol to retake control of the park‚ instead continuing to build razor wire barriers to deter illegal border crossings. Cities across the country‚ ranging from New York to Chicago‚ have struggled to manage the rapid surge of migrants‚ with both taking drastic measures to feed and house those who’ve crossed into the United States.

Jake Sullivan Dodges Questions On U.S. Strikes; Claims U.S. Did Not ‘Telegraph’ Its Attacks

Jake Sullivan Dodges Questions On U.S. Strikes; Claims U.S. Did Not ‘Telegraph’ Its Attacks

Jake Sullivan‚ President Biden’s national security adviser‚ repeatedly dodged answering key questions on Sunday about the military strikes that the U.S. launched against Iranian-backed terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria late last week. Sullivan made the remarks during four separate interviews — ABC News‚ CBS News‚ NBC News‚ and CNN — after the Biden administration repeatedly telegraphed to Iran details about what its response in the region would be after three U.S. soldiers were killed and dozens more injured during a terrorist attack last weekend. Sullivan said during the interviews that the initial round of strikes were only the beginning and that more would be forthcoming‚ “Some of those steps will be seen. Some may not be seen.” He acknowledged during an interview on ABC News’ “This Week” that the strikes did not establish deterrence against future attacks‚ an issue that Republicans quickly called out‚ saying that the administration‚ “cannot rule out that there will be future attacks from Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Syria or from the Houthis.” Sullivan claimed that the administration had signaled toughness to Iran through its actions and not its “words‚” even though Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders fled Iraq and Syria shortly after the Biden administration started leaking information about its retaliatory strikes. When pressed during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” about what the next steps of the U.S.’s campaign was going to be‚ Sullivan responded: “I’m not going to‚ obviously‚ describe the character of that action because I don’t want to telegraph our punches.” CBS News’ Margaret Brennan brought up the fact the strikes were “so telegraphed in advance” and mentioned how it allowed IRGC commanders to escape. “The idea that somehow this was telegraphed‚ I think is a bit more of a political talking point than a reality‚” he claimed. NBC News’ Kristen Welker asked Sullivan about the intense criticism the administration has faced for telegraphing the strikes‚ to which he mocked those saying that‚ calling them “armchair quarterbacks.” Again‚ this comes after the administration warned for a week that it was going to conduct an extensive bombing campaign in Iraq and Syria against Iranian-backed terrorist facilities that were involved in the deadly attack on U.S. forces. Numerous reports have indicated that Iran’s IRGC commanders fled and were unharmed and there has been speculation that a lot of weapons were moved and thus not destroyed during the strikes. Sullivan also refused to rule out during multiple interviews the possibility that the U.S. could conduct military strikes inside of Iran. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP On the criticism that the administration has faced for responding only a handful of times to the approximately 170 attacks that U.S. forces have faced in Iraq and Syria since mid-October‚ Sullivan claimed that “the notion that we have not responded is just incorrect.” Sullivan refused to disclose any details on how effective the strikes were late last week or information on how many terrorists were killed.

Biden: If ‘Necessary‚’ I Will ‘Direct Additional Measures’ Against IRGC Personnel

President Joe Biden said in a letter to Congress on Sunday that he was prepared to take additional action in the Middle East against members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after the U.S. launched retaliatory strikes against Iranian-backed terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria late last week. The strikes were conducted after an Iranian-backed terrorist group killed three U.S. soldiers and wounded dozens more in a suicide drone attack on a U.S. base in Jordan. “U.S. military forces struck more than 85 targets‚ with numerous aircraft to include long-range bombers flown from United States‚” U.S. Central Command said in a statement. “The airstrikes employed more than 125 precision munitions. The facilities that were struck included command and control operations‚ centers‚ intelligence centers‚ rockets‚ and missiles‚ and unmanned aerial vehicle storages‚ and logistics and munition supply chain facilities of militia groups and their IRGC sponsors who facilitated attacks against U.S. and Coalition forces.” In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)‚ Biden said that he was legally allowed to conduct the strikes without congressional approval “pursuant to the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40).” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Toward the end of the letter‚ Biden said that he would authorize‚ if necessary‚ action against the IRGC‚ which is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. “If necessary‚ I will direct additional measures‚ including against the IRGC and IRGC-affiliated personnel and facilities‚ as appropriate‚ to address the series of attacks against United States forces and facilities‚” he said. The letter did not give any details about what additional measures the administration was prepared to take.

Texas Governor Abbott Says Biden ‘Failing’ On Two Duties To Deter Illegal Immigration

President Joe Biden is “failing” on more than one front to secure the southern border and deport illegal immigrants from the United States‚ according to Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott. During an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures‚” the governor argued that former President Donald Trump‚ whom he has endorsed for another term‚ did what Biden claims he lacks the power to do without permission from Congress. “The fact is‚ we all saw from what President Trump did‚ the President of the United States has the power. I must emphasize this. There is an obligation — there are laws in the United States that require the president to deny illegal entry of any illegal immigrant‚” Abbott told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo. Gov. Abbott on laws requiring the President deny illegal entry and if they do get in to detain those illegal immigrants: "Joe Biden is failing at both of those duties and that's exactly what gives Texas the authority to make sure that we can step up and secure our own border…" pic.twitter.com/whHBdtkhH6 — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) February 4‚ 2024 “And then‚ if they do get into the United States‚ he has a legal obligation to detain those illegal immigrants. Joe Biden is failing at both of those duties‚ and that’s exactly what gives Texas the authority to make sure that we can step up and secure our own border and protect our own state through self-defense‚” he added. Texas is locked in multiple legal battles with the Biden administration over the state’s use of floating barriers and razor wire to secure the southern U.S. border. Abbott told Bartiromo that other Republican governors are supporting Texas on the border issue and explained how razor wire is deterring the flow of illegal immigration at one particular site where a standoff has taken place between state officials and the federal government. Gov. Abbott: "If we put up resistance‚ we show that we can secure the border. Joe Biden should not be stopping that." pic.twitter.com/aCv7efe87m — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) February 4‚ 2024 “More than half of the governors are now joined together in support of a very important proposition. And that is‚ we are guaranteed by the United States Constitution the right of self-defense if states face imminent harm or invasion. Texas obviously is facing both an imminent harm as well as an invasion‚” Abbott said. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “And so these governors are rallying around Texas to support our ongoing right to self-defense and the deployment of this razor wire that has led to a massive reduction in inflow‚” he added. “Maria‚ get this. The area where we have occupied this park in Eagle Pass‚ Texas‚ [where] we put up the razor wire‚ there used to be 3‚000 or 4‚000 people crossing that area a day. For the past three days‚ we have averaged just three people crossing that area. The point is‚ if we put up resistance‚ we show that we can secure the border. Joe Biden should not be stopping that.”

Speaker Mike Johnson Outlines What He Wants To See Biden Do With Iran

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) outlined several things that he wants to see President Joe Biden do with respect to Iran after Iranian-backed terrorists killed three U.S. soldiers during an attack last weekend. Johnson made the remarks during a Sunday interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker when asked about remarks that Biden national security adviser Jake Sullivan made earlier in the show. “I do take issue with a little bit of what Jake Sullivan just said‚” he said. “We need to make absolutely clear to Iran that nothing is off the table. You know‚ we maintain peace through strength. That was the Reagan Doctrine. That’s what President Trump continued. And that’s what we have to do right now. We should not be appeasing Iran. That’s what the Biden administration has been doing for the last three years. We are projecting weakness on the world stage. And frankly‚ Kristen‚ that is why our adversaries are acting so provocatively.” Johnson said that the Biden administration should be “turning up the heat on Iran” through a variety of measures. “We need to act to decimate the Iran Central Bank‚ the assets that they’ve held there‚” he said. “We need to lean on international banks to seize the assets of Iranian proxies. We need to put big time pressure‚ maximum pressure‚ on their oil exports. There’s a lot that we could do to Iran to send a message instead of this appeasement strategy. It’s just simply not working.” When asked if additional strikes should be on the table‚ Johnson said that they “should not be off the table.” “In the Trump administration we used a drone and three missiles to take out Qasem Soleimani near Baghdad‚” he said. “That sent a strong message. And it quelled all of the activity there. What we’re doing right now‚ we’re using potentially hundreds of munitions to strike close to 100 targets so far. But we’re not going right to the heart of the matter. I think that’s a real problem.” WATCH:
