Let me preface this story by saying one thing… I haven’t cared about the NFL in almost 10 years‚ and I have never gone out of my way to read anything about Taylor Swift. As one of our readers‚ you may have a similar mindset. Even so‚ none of us have been able to escape hearing about the relationship between NFL player Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Kelce‚ who was appropriately nicknamed “Mr. Pfizer” by Aaron Rodgers after Kelce became a spokesperson for the infamous drug company‚ has been in the headlines ever since he began dating Swift. The NFL has been capitalizing on the opportunity to attract a new demographic by putting emphasis on the budding new relationship. Oddly enough‚ the Kansas City Chiefs now find themselves heading to the Super Bowl. Wow‚ what a perfect story… You’d almost have to believe it were written up in a Hollywood script. One person with a certain amount of insight within the celebrity world certainly thinks so. Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant thinks that the romance is “100% Fake.” VanZant shared a story of her own experiences with her former publicist who tried to match her up with an NFL player in order to increase her fame. She asserts that this is the way that things work within the celebrity world. She was then approached with a proposal for a staged date with an NFL player‚ complete with planned paparazzi and orchestrated public displays of affection. However‚ VanZant backed out at the last minute‚ standing up the unnamed NFL player. “I am trying to be more‚ I guess‚ ‘famous‚’” she mused. “I’m trying to become more successful. And of course‚ they recommended that I go on the date. They’re like‚ ‘Alright‚ we’ll have paparazzi standing by.’ So‚ they plan where the paparazzi is going to be. They plan‚ ‘We’re going to get a picture of you guys doing this at dinner. Maybe you’ll hold hands in this spot.’ They plan where you’re going to do everything. Yeah‚ I agree to it. Whatever. Get the NFL player’s number. We’re texting. He plans to pick me up at my apartment that I’m staying in. And the date comes‚ he shows up‚ calls me‚ calls me‚ calls me. And I pretended not to be home because I just don’t… I don’t want to. I chickened out.” The UFC veteran didn’t hold back in her critique of the Swift-Kelce narrative‚ stating‚ “I think that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelsey love story‚ it is 100% fake. It comes after the New York Times revealed the singer is a top target for Biden’s campaign‚ who covets her endorsement in the presidential race. The former head of U.S. Military Central Command‚ retired General Kenneth Frank McKenzie — who served in the position under both Presidents Trump and Biden — stated on Monday that in the wake of the killing of three U.S. troops Iranian-backed forces the United States should “get comfortable with the fact that there can be escalation associated with this.” McKenzie spoke on CNN with host Wolf Blitzer‚ who commented‚ “As you know‚ the U.S. says Iran-backed militias are behind this deadly attack. To what extent do you believe Iran itself was directly involved?” “Wolf‚ it’s hard to know‚ but we know that Iran trains‚ equips and funds these militias‚” McKenzie replied. “It’s likely they provided some form of intelligence and targeting information. Whether they knew about the exact sequence of this attack is not from — I don’t know the answer to that‚ but they are certainly morally responsible for this attack.” “You were head of the Middle East operations‚ the U.S. military’s Central Command‚ as it’s called‚ under both Presidents Biden and Trump‚” Blitzer noted. “How would you advise this administration to respond now to this attack without sparking a much broader war?” “Well‚ I think we begin by realizing‚ Wolf‚ that if we want to prevent escalation‚ we need to leave the theater‚” McKenzie answered. “If our primary goal is to not have something escalate‚ we need to get out. That’s obviously not our primary goal. So‚ we need to get comfortable with the fact that there can be escalation associated with this.” “The next thing I would say‚ as Secretary Blinken’s words are very strong‚ very forceful‚ very on point‚” he continued. “We need to match them with action.
