The Convention of States movement in Ohio gains public support from
primary candidates in gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races.

COLUMBUS, OH, May 1, 2022— Having gained momentum recently with four additional states passing its application for an Article V convention, Convention of States Action (COSA) in Ohio now has the support of gubernatorial candidates Jim Renacci and Joe Blystone, as well as U.S. Senate candidates Jane Timken, JD Vance, Josh Mandel, Mark Pukita, Mike Gibbons, and Neil Patel. A recent Ohio candidate survey conducted by COSA included all Democrat and Republican primary candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.
In publicly endorsing the movement, Mike Gibbons said, “Career politicians need to be kicked out of Washington with term limits, which is why I’m running for the U.S. Senate as a businessman and political outsider. As a U.S. Senator, I will be a strong advocate for this powerful movement.”
COSA grassroots volunteers recently concluded a Get Out the Vote phone campaign. They made many thousands of calls to inform Ohio voters of the May 3rd primary and tell them which candidates support the Convention of States movement.
Convention of States Action uses Article V of the U.S. Constitution to apply for a convention of the states to propose amendments to the U.S.. Constitution that would: limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and establish term limits for Congress and federal officials.
Although the U.S. Constitution established a framework for limited federal power and expansive personal freedoms, self-interested politicians and activist court rulings have destroyed the concept of federalism that granted only certain enumerated powers to the federal government, while allowing the states to maintain their sovereignty. A Convention of States is the Constitution's safe, peaceful, and lawful solution for taking back power from Washington insiders and corrupt politicians and putting it back in the hands of the states and the people where it belongs.
