DOMESTIC. The Green Party in Gothenburg is investing in getting more Swedish parents to "take responsibility for segregation" by placing their children in schools in so-called vulnerable areas. It is reported by Göteborgs-Posten.


- A parent might think - oh, it's just my child who has Swedish as a mother tongue at this school. But if you stimulate them instead to make the school choice in a group, then they will not be as worried, says Karin Pleijel, MP's group leader in Gothenburg, to GP.

Pleijel explains that she is "deeply concerned" about the so-called segregation in the city and considers the situation "outrageous".

Through "group talks", the Green Party wants to persuade Swedish parents to put their children in schools in immigrant ghettos.

Going to immigrant schools will "stimulate language development" even for the Swedish children who are exposed, Karin Pleijel believes.
