We had as close to equality as possible until the left started their pursuit of the destruction of white people. Affirmative action doesn't promote equality, neither do race specific programs, policies, and organizations. The government's job is only to handle specific constitutional issues. Society needs to evolve naturally, which was going well until Obama started a new race war. There is no evidence of systematic racism. The use of that term makes your whole argument invalid.
