Proud Israeli-Arab, Yoseph Haddad, shatters the blood libel at Oxford Union that Israel as an ‘apartheid’ state

According to Haddad, “I was born an Israeli, and I will remain an Israeli. I am entitled to all the same rights as any citizen of Israel. I was also an officer in Israel’s Defense Forces protecting the north of Israel from terrorist rockets attacks by Hezbollah. What’s more, I commanded dozens of Jewish soldiers. […]

Spin Cycle: The Confirmations Have Only Just Begun, And Even Dems Seem Resigned To Their Fate

For those who don’t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week’s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed. Most of the world had eyes on Syria while the regime of Bashar Al-Assad crumbled under the attack of terrorist rebels — and while most of the Sunday morning political shows did devote some time to the breaking news out of the Middle East, there was still a lot of focus directed at President-elect Donald Trump and his nominees for certain high-ranking cabinet posts. This Sunday, however, instead of the parade of panic-stricken guests complaining about how each Trump nominee was more existentially dangerous than the last, the tone was more reserved. In addition, the guests seemed willing — or perhaps resigned to the inevitability — to work with Trump’s nominees or at least hear them out in confirmation hearings and interviews. On ABC’s “This Week,” for example, host Martha Raddatz spoke with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) about Trump’s plan for the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that will be helmed by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and former Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy. Khanna, who said that he had spoken to Musk about DOGE, appeared to agree with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has said that he can at least get behind DOGE’s plan to audit the Pentagon. “I think when there comes to defense, getting better defense for value and cutting costs, there can be huge bipartisan cooperation,” Khanna said on Sunday, noting that Musk had disrupted what had previously been a closed system — with regard to defense contractors such as Lockheed and Boeing — when he moved ahead with SpaceX during the Obama administration. Byron Donalds (R-FL) about Trump’s plan to tackle the border crisis, and he noted that the president-elect had specifically chosen nominees he believed would be ready and willing to tackle the problems at hand. “The appointees that have been made by President Trump to secure our nation on day one are going to get this under control,” Donalds said. Mike Turner about former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) — Trump’s nominee to serve as Director of National Intelligence — who left the Democratic Party and recently became a Republican. Brennan pointed to Gabbard’s history of questioning intelligence reports — showing that Assad was guilty of attacking people within his own country with chemical weapons — and asked Turner whether he believed that disqualified her from serving in Trump’s administration. Turner said that he trusted the Senate to do its job and properly question and vet all of the nominees who have been put forth, adding, “I obviously differ a great deal in a number of areas with both her judgment and her background and experience.” Rep. Marco Rubio (R-FL) confirmed as the next Secretary of State. As for Trump’s second choice to serve as Attorney General, Pam Bondi — as well as proposed FBI Director Kash Patel — Durbin said that he’d reserve judgment until after he saw the results of an FBI background check. “I think I need to keep an open mind.” @SenDurbin tells @jaketapper he’s open to voting for Pam Bondi and Kash Patel but says he wants to see the results of any FBI background check first. Marco Rubio will be “an excellent Secretary of State.” pic.twitter.com/cMLyx4y9yp — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) December 8, 2024 Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) also spoke with anchor Jake Tapper on Sunday, and he said that he saw a clear path to confirmation for Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to lead the Pentagon. “There’s been absolutely no ‘noes’ from Republican senators,” he said. .@SenMullin tells @jaketapper, “There’s been absolutely no ‘noes’ from Republican senators” yet on Hegseth’s nomination and says he believes Hegseth will ultimately be confirmed. pic.twitter.com/jQlSCS5a2c — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) December 8, 2024 Mullin also defended Gabbard, saying that she is “perfect for the position” of DNI. .@SenMullin says Tulsi Gabbard is “perfect for the position” of Director of National Intelligence despite her history of defending the recently fallen Assad regime. pic.twitter.com/hsWhsvdvS9 — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) December 8, 2024 President-elect Trump defended his own nominees in a wide-ranging interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” but he worked in a few direct hits aimed at anchor Kristen Welker in the process. “It’s amazing. I wish you could be a — you know, you have such potential. If you could be just — just non-biased. You hurt yourself so badly,” he told her. College Tells International Students To Return Before Trump Takes Office, Offers To Shelter Illegals

Claremont McKenna College vowed in a statement obtained by The Daily Wire to protect students who are in the country illegally and urged non-citizen international students to return to campus prior to Donald Trump’s inauguration, pointing to California’s status as a sanctuary state. The memo from Claremont’s Dean of Students outlines how the college plans to support students who are in the country illegally and subvert Trump’s impending immigration crackdown. “Presidential transitions in the U.S. may result in shifts in immigration policy,” the email says. “Some of our students, especially those who are not U.S. citizens, have understandable questions and concerns about the future U.S. policy and its impact on them and their families.” The memo also urged foreign students to return to campus before Trump takes office on January 20, 2025, citing policy against state law enforcement collaborating with federal immigration enforcement officers. “Out of an abundance of caution, we encourage students who are traveling from an international location, especially if you are not a U.S. citizen, to return to the U.S. by Sunday, January 19, 2025,” the email says. “Please note that, since 2017, California law … severely limits state and local law enforcement from investigating, interrogating, detaining, detecting, or arresting persons for immigration enforcement purposes.” Trump has pledged to carry out the “largest mass deportation campaign in American history,” a policy position that a strong majority of Americans favor according to recent polling. The email goes on to detail how the college would support those in the country illegally, including by connecting them immigration lawyers. “Students without legal status who are receiving financial aid and are interested in speaking confidentially with an immigration lawyer for a free initial consultation, should contact DT Graves or Jimmy Doan.” “In compliance with state and federal law,” the college will “provide maximum support to undocumented students,” it added. One member of the Claremont community said the email is part of a “disturbing trend” wherein the college is increasingly led by “activist faculty” and “woke students.” “It is not right that my tuition goes to subsidize illegal aliens on my campus when they don’t qualify for other forms of government financial aid. It is even worse when our federal government is finally going to do something about it under Trump that CMC is stepping in to protect these illegal aliens enrolled here,” the individual told The Daily Wire. “The dean and others in leadership have become more and more beholden to this loud group of woke professors and students,” he added, noting that “the incentive structure has changed and they are becoming more beholden to the woke on our campus.” Claremont McKenna did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Why Trump Recognizing Jerusalem As The Capital Of Israel Is ‘Just and Right’

The authors of a book detailing the behind-the-scenes story of Donald Trump’s decision to move the United States embassy in Israel to Jerusalem weighed in on what a future Trump administration will mean for U.S.-Israel relations. In their book, “Because It’s Just and Right,” Farley Weiss and Leonard Grunstein chronicle the story behind one of Trump’s most significant foreign policy moves. Now, as Trump prepares to return to office in January, the two authors offer unique insights about how his second term may further redefine and strengthen U.S.-Israel relations. “You’re going to be seeing a whole different world, a much more peaceful world now with the Trump administration,” said Weiss. Weiss and Grunstein both predict that a key priority of the Trump administration will be to expand the Abraham Accords. “I think you’re going to see many countries become part of the Abraham Accords and you’re going to just see a whole different dynamic,” said Weiss. He added that the Abraham Accords will be able to broaden because the United States will refocus on countering the Islamic Republic of Iran and their proxies, including Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. Grunstein said that he hopes these actions will pave the way for a “Cyrus Accords” agreement — named after Cyrus the Great, who liberated the Jews from captivity and allowed them to return to Israel in 538 B.C. — between Israel and the free people of Iran. “It’s natural for the free people of Iran to come together. And this new axis of evil that’s developed will be dismembered in effect, and it will usher in a new age of peace and prosperity in the world,” said Grunstein. Both Grunstein and Weiss believe that more countries will be emboldened to follow Trump’s lead and move their embassies to Jerusalem. So far, Guatemala, Honduras, Kosovo, and Papua New Guinea have made the move. Argentina has indicated that it will follow suit, with some speculation that Hungary is considering the move as well. Because It’s Just and Right, named from the remarks for former Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), who championed the Jerusalem Embassy Act in 1995. Weiss himself was instrumental in the act’s passage, after being asked by Kyl to serve as an advisor because of his credentials as the president of Young Israel of Phoenix, a prominent synagogue. The act set a May 31, 1999 deadline for the embassy move. But Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Barack Obama used a provision in the law allowing them to sign successive six-month waivers to push off the embassy relocation. Trump also pushed the move at first. The embassy relocation finally occurred after a debate within Trump’s inner circle. At the time, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Vice President Mike Pence, and others prevailed over opposition from Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis, according to Weiss and Grunstein. Weiss and Grunstein recount the historical case for Jerusalem being Israel’s capital, and make the case that it is a moral action. It details the many policies, actors and political realities that afforded for the change to happen. Weiss’s and Grunstein’s predictions are predicated on the lessons learned from Trump moving the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2018. During the first administration, Trump was not surrounded by people entirely convinced of his foreign policy objectives, especially with regard to Israel. This time around, Weiss says Trump will have supporters of a strong U.S.-Israel relationship such as Rep. Elise Stefanik as the U.N. Ambassador, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in his corner — assuming their appointments are confirmed. “President Trump did not have people ideologically with him in some of his main advisors, the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense Tillerson, Mattis and even his national security advisor,” Weiss said. “Now, everybody is aligned with him and the policies.”
