Romania’s Election Nullified After Right-Wing Candidate Wins

Romania’s constitutional court has annulled the first round of the country’s 2024 presidential election process. It was after the right-wing leader won in the first round. The media describes the winner, Calin Georgescu as a far-right ultranationalist candidate. The election was nullified based on Russian interference. The historic decision means a second-round runoff scheduled for […] The post Romania’s Election Nullified After Right-Wing Candidate Wins appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Trump’s Message To Those Who Did Not Vote For Him: ‘I Love You’

President-elect Donald Trump said during an interview that aired over the weekend that he will treat those who did not vote for him just as well as his strongest supporters. Trump made the remarks during a Sunday NBC News interview with Kristen Welker on “Meet The Press” when asked what his message was to Americans who do not support him. “I’m going to treat you every bit as well as I have treated the greatest MAGA supporters,” he said. “There’s never been anything like MAGA in the history of this country. These people are so dedicated to making America great again. It’s very simple. And I’m going to treat them just the same as I treat MAGA.” “We’re going to treat everybody good,” he continued. “But what I say to them is, I love you, and we’re going to all work together. And we’re going to bring it together. And you know what’s going to bring it together? Success.” He said that success was the key to bringing everyone together and uniting the country, and “that’s what I want to do.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE WATCH: Trump on his message to those who did not vote for him: “I’m going to treat you every bit as well as I have treated the greatest MAGA supporters. … But what I say to them is I love you, and we’re going to all work together. Sen Mullin Calls For ‘Criminal’ Activity To Be Investigated From Biden’s Afghanistan Pullout

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) said during an interview over the weekend that “criminal” activity from the Biden administration related to its withdraw from Afghanistan in 2021 should be investigated by the incoming Trump administration. Mullin made the remarks during a Sunday interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper when asked about President Joe Biden issuing blanket pardons for individuals so the Department of Justice cannot prosecute them in the future. “As far as weaponizing the DOJ and going after political opponents, the only party that’s ever done that is the Democrat Party,” Mullin said. “When President Trump was in office the first time as the 45th president, he didn’t go after the Clintons. He didn’t do this.” “When they went after classified documents, they obviously treated President Trump much different than they did President Biden,” he said. “And so who weaponizes them? Now, if they are afraid of that because they’re afraid the same tool they used against President Trump could be used against them, then, hey, President Biden has the right to do that. But I don’t think they have a reason to be afraid.” He later added: “The first thing we need to do is hold people accountable from the Afghanistan withdrawal. That’s where they should be looking at, because I think there was real criminal activity that took place there, like, for instance, Ambassador Pommersheim telling me personally, when we were over there trying to get Americans out and my group trying to get Americans out, that he was told not to assist us in any way, not to assist us in any way from Washington, D.C.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “Who gave him that order that he wasn’t supposed to help me as a member of Congress at the time trying to get Americans out?” he continued. “We’re there on the ground pulling people across the Panjshir bridge into Tajikistan. He’s the ambassador of Tajikistan. And he was told by the State Department not to assist us in any way. That’s a criminal charge that should be investigated. Those things should be looked at.” WATCH: After Trump said members of the January 6 Committee “should go to jail,” @SenMullin tells @jaketapper, “I don’t think they have a reason to be afraid” but adds, “I think that investigation should be looked into if there was criminal activity that took place.” pic.twitter.com/UVfgdzHzqx — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) December 8, 2024

Former Trump SecDef: Russia, Iran ‘Severely Impacted’ By Assad’s Collapse In Syria

Former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, who served under President Donald Trump, said over the weekend that Russia and Iran were “severely impacted” by the collapse of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad’s government and his exile to Russia. Esper made the remarks on Sunday during a segment on CNN while discussing the stunning collapse of the regime in just a little over a week. “This is historic, to say the least. This is the regime, the Assad regime, that’s ruled that country brutally for 50-plus years. And now they’re coming to an end,” he said. “From a historical perspective, stepping back a little bit, it’s not unlike what’s happened over the past 20 years across the Arab world, as you look at strongmen, from Moammar Gadhafi in Libya, who was toppled, all the way to Saddam Hussein, who was toppled. And in both cases, those regimes fell apart and the brutality ended.” He said that Russia may no longer have a foothold in the Middle East as a result of the collapse. “And, of course, Iran, I think, is most severely impacted by this,” he said. “They will now lose their air and ground routes through Syria that used to supply the Hezbollah in Lebanon, so very significant for those countries on a major basis.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “And for other countries in the region — Jordan, Turkey, others — they will now see the return of millions of refugees who have been housed in their countries for years, hopefully for them returning to Syria,” he continued. He said that there was a concern about weapons, including chemical weapons, from Assad’s military falling into the hands of the terrorist rebels. “We don’t want it to look like the ISIS caliphate. So that’d be another immediate concern,” he said. “We don’t want it to look like the Taliban rule. We don’t want it to look like a theocracy in Iran.” He added that he believes that Trump’s assessment of the situation, that the U.S. should not get involved, is completely correct. “I agree. I don’t see that role right now to do that,” he said. “Donald Trump is always consistent, if there’s one thing, that he did not want to get involved in wars. So I think we should take him at his word on that.” WATCH: Former Trump Defense Secretary @MarkTEsper tells @jaketapper that “Iran is most severely impacted” by the collapse of the Assad regime and says the big question is “who is going to govern Syria and what will it look like?” pic.twitter.com/4BLh8TygpU — State of the Union (@CNNSOTU) December 8, 2024

Trump Rips Those Criticizing Tulsi Gabbard For Meeting With Assad

President-elect Donald Trump said during an interview over the weekend that it was ridiculous that people were criticizing former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) over her meeting years ago with then-Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Trump’s remarks during the interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” with Kristen Welker were aired on Sunday, just a day after Assad was forced to flee the country as his government collapsed following an aggressive military campaign from terrorist rebels. “I met with Putin. I met with President Xi of China. I met with Kim Jong-un twice,” Trump said. “Does that mean that I can’t be president?” “People meet. All these people meet,” he continued. “I mean, I see some of the most dishonest people. I’ll tell you, the 51 agents that said that the laptop wasn’t from Hunter, it was from Russia, what about them? Tell me about them. Do you think they did something wrong? Do you think they were all so stupid that they thought that the laptop from hell?–” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE When asked if he had confidence in Gabbard, Trump said: “I do. I mean, she’s a very respected person.” WATCH: Trump rips people claiming that former Rep. Trump Vows To Not Give Elon Musk Special Treatment Over Competitors

President-elect Donald Trump said during an interview over the weekend that he will not give special treatment to ally Elon Musk over Musk’s competitors. Trump made the remarks during a Sunday NBC News interview with Kristen Welker on “Meet The Press” when asked about Musk, who was the largest donor during the 2024 election. “Will you favor Elon Musk over other leaders of competitor companies, like Jeff Bezos?” Welker asked. “No, Jeff Bezos called me. We’re having dinner,” Trump said. “As you know, Mark Zuckerberg came in. We had a really nice dinner. He asked to have dinner. I had dinner with him. I’m having dinner with everybody. People like me now, you know? It’s something going on that people — I said, ‘Would you have come to dinner with me if I lost?’ I think the answer is no.” “You know, I said, kiddingly, of course, because I don’t want to sound foolish. But I say jokingly, ‘Would you have been here at dinner if I lost?’ And the answer was, ‘Probably not,'” he continued. “Look, I’m getting called by everybody.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE WATCH: Donald Trump tells NBC News’ Kristen Welker that he won’t give Elon Musk special treatment over other tech leaders. pic.twitter.com/BVk8S5svUu — Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) December 8, 2024

U.S. Forces Conduct ‘Precision Airstrikes’ On ISIS Targets In Syria After Assad Regime Collapses

In the hours after Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime fell over the weekend, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces conducted “precision airstrikes targeting known ISIS camps and operatives” in central Syria on Sunday. “The strikes against the ISIS leaders, operatives, and camps were conducted as part of the ongoing mission to disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS, in order to prevent the terrorist group from conducting external operations and to ensure that ISIS does not seek to take advantage of the current situation to reconstitute in central Syria,” CENTCOM said in a statement. “The operation struck over 75 targets using multiple U.S. Air Force assets, including B-52s, F-15s, and A-10s.” CENTCOM said battle damage assessments were “underway” and noted that there were “no indications” of civilian casualties. CENTCOM also said it would “continue to carry out operations to degrade ISIS operational capabilities even during this dynamic period in Syria” together with U.S. “allies and partners” in the region. RELATED: Israel Occupies Buffer Zone As Syria Falls Into Chaos, Netanyahu Warns Of ‘Significant Dangers’ “There should be no doubt — we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and take advantage of the current situation in Syria,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla. “All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they partner with or support ISIS in any way.” Assad fled to Russia as rebel forces took over the capital of Damascus amid a sudden resurgence of fighting in Syria’s civil war that had stalled in recent years, The Daily Wire reported. Russia’s state media said Assad and his family made it to Moscow and were granted political asylum. In public remarks, President Joe Biden announced that U.S. forces conducted “precision airstrikes” within Syria against ISIS, and pledged to help “ensure stability” in the country. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “We’re clear-eyed about the fact that ISIS will try to take advantage of any vacuum to re-establish its capabilities and to create a safe haven,” Biden said. “We will not let that happen.” President-elect Donald Trump, who is slated to begin his second term in a little more than five weeks, declared in a post to X on Saturday that Syria is a “mess” and the United States should “NOT GET INVOLVED!”
