DeSantis Shuts Down Reporter For Tying Tornadoes, Hurricanes To Global Warming

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis mocked a reporter during a press conference on Thursday for suggesting that global warming was responsible for the recent series of extreme weather events that have hit the state. DeSantis made the remarks after the state was hit with two hurricanes over the last couple of weeks and dozens of tornadoes. “I think you can go back and find tornadoes for all of human history,” DeSantis said, noting that the most recent hurricane that the state faced, Hurricane Milton, was not that powerful compared to the most powerful hurricanes the state has faced in its history. The governor noted that Milton hit with a barometric pressure of approximately 950 millibars when it made landfall. “If you go back to 1851, there’s probably been 27 hurricanes that have had lower barometric, so the lower the barometric pressure, the stronger it is,” he said. “I think there have been about 27 hurricanes that have had lower barometric pressure on landfall than Milton did, and of those, 17 occurred I think prior to 1960.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! “The most powerful hurricane on record since the 1850s in the state of Florida occurred in the 1930s, the Labor Day Hurricane, barometric pressure on that was 892 millibars,” he continued. “It totally wiped out the Keys. We’ve never seen anything like it, and that remains head and shoulders above any powerful hurricane that we’ve ever had in the state of Florida.” He noted that the deadliest hurricane the state has ever faced was the Okeechobee hurricane in 1928, which killed more than 4,000 people. “So I just think people should put this in perspective there,” he said. “They try to take different things that happen with tropical weather and act like it’s something, there’s nothing new under the sun. You know, this is something that the state has dealt with for its entire history, and it’s something that will continue to deal with.” “I think what’s changed is we’ve got 23 million people, a storm that hits is likely to hit more people and property than it would have 100 years ago, and so the potential for that damage has grown, but what’s also changed is our ability to do the prevention, to pre-stage the assets,” he added. “I mean, we never did the pre-staging of power assets until I became governor. Now, people like expect that, but that wasn’t what was done in the past. That’s why people would be out with power for three weeks when we have hurricanes, we thought that that’s not good. Now we have to pay to get these guys to come in, but my view is, the quicker you get everyone hooked up, the better off the economy is going to be anyway.” WATCH: Ron DeSantis absolutely nukes a reporter who tried to tie yesterday’s tornadoes from Hurricane #Milton to global warming pic.twitter.com/Pj0nENTilZ — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 10, 2024

Kamala Asked What The Process Was That Got Her The Nomination. She Has No Answer.

Kamala Asked What The Process Was That Got Her The Nomination. She Has No Answer.

On Thursday, at a town hall for Latinos hosted by Univision, Vice President Kamala Harris was asked to explain how she ascended to the presidential nomination while the Democratic Party ousted President Joe Biden from the race. She had no answer. An elderly Latino man who described himself as uncertain of which way he would vote spoke of Harris gaining the nomination, saying, “It seemed something unprecedented, so close to the elections. … I am also concerned about the way I feel President Biden was pushed aside.” “How can you clarify this whole process and how you were elected?” Harris was asked. “First of all, thank you for being so candid and allowing me to answer the question, thank you,” Harris began. Then she offered a lengthy response that gave no clue as to how the process by which she gained the nomination came about, saying, “President Biden made a decision that I think history will show was probably one of the most courageous that a president could make, which is he decided to put country above his personal interest. And he made that decision. He very, within that same period of time, supported my candidacy and urged me to run.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! Harris then segued to a list of endorsements: He and I have been partners for the last four years as his vice president to him as the President, and I am honored to have earned the Democratic nomination. I am honored to have the endorsement of people from every walk of life. You will probably find that I probably have a bigger coalition of people who couldn’t seem to be more different than each other, who have come together around my candidacy, from 200 Republicans who worked with and for both Presidents Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, including Liz Cheney, the former Congresswoman and her father, the former vice president, Dick Cheney, who was supporting me, former members, very esteemed members, including generals of the national security community. I have the endorsement and support of Alberto Gonzalez, most recently, who, of course, was attorney general. After the 1968 Democratic National Convention, where delegates who had been elected in primaries and pledged to vote for Robert Kennedy or Eugene McCarthy were outvoted by delegates in favor of Vice President Hubert Humphrey, the party rewrote the rules for delegate selection so that more delegates were chosen by primaries than by caucuses or conventions, strengthening the primaries. Party leaders, disturbed that they were losing power, created the idea of superdelegates in 1984, giving Democrat legislators more power in the nominating process and the party more control over the choice of a presidential nominee. This was clearly displayed in 2020 when it appeared Senator Bernie Sanders would gain the presidential nomination, but party leaders helped Joe Biden win South Carolina, thus launching him to the nomination. Harris’ ascendancy to the presidential nomination came without winning one single primary vote. After Biden was forced out by various leaders of the party, Harris was chosen as the nominee by those leaders and was tacitly picked as the nominee even before the Democratic National Convention.

Classy Barack Obama Mocks Trump, Implies He Wears Diapers

Former President Barack Obama, whose wife Michelle famously said, “When they go low, we go high,” decided he had no interest in dignity, lampooning former President Trump as someone wearing adult diapers. Speaking at the University of Pittsburgh on Thursday night, Obama asked the audience, “’Do you think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?” When a member of the audience called out, “His own!” Obama laughed, “I almost said that, but I decided I should not say it.” In 2016, at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama spoke of raising her two daughters, saying, “We insist that the hateful language they hear from public figures on TV does not represent the true spirit of this country. How we explain that when someone is cruel, or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level -– no, our motto is, when they go low, we go high. With every word we utter, with every action we take, we know our kids are watching us. We as parents are their most important role models. And let me tell you, Barack and I take that same approach to our jobs as president and first lady, because we know that our words and actions matter not just to our girls, but to children across this country …” Obama, what an obnoxious clownhttps://t.co/M3hE4t6rwE — Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) October 11, 2024 At the 2024 Democratic National Convention, Obama made a crude hand gesture when he spoke of Trump’s “weird obsession with crowd sizes.” Am I Racist? University of Kansas Professor Sparks Outrage After Suggesting Men Who Won’t Vote for Female President Should Be Shot

A University of Kansas professor, Phillip Lowcock, has ignited widespread condemnation after a shocking statement during a lecture where he suggested that men who refuse to vote for a female president should be "lined up and shot." The comments, made earlier this month, quickly went viral after being captured on video and shared across social media platforms, drawing swift backlash from students, political figures, and university officials. The professor, who teaches in the Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences, was discussing his frustrations with men who believe that women aren’t "smart enough" to hold the office of president. "We can line up all those guys and shoot 'em; they clearly don’t understand how the world works," Lowcock is heard saying in the clip. He quickly followed up by saying, "Scratch that from the recording," but the damage was already done as the video spread across the internet. BREAKING: The University of Kansas has replied to the viral video of a professor calling for men that won’t vote for a woman president to be SH0T: “Hi, thank you for your message. The University is aware of a video recorded during a class earlier this semester. The… pic.twitter.com/UdnpLzpOjb — Gunther Eagleman (@GuntherEagleman) October 9, 2024 The remarks, which appear to reference men unwilling to vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, sparked intense reactions. Among the most vocal critics was U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas), who took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce the professor's comments. "Anyone saying men who don’t vote for Kamala Harris should be ‘lined up and shot’ is deranged and shouldn’t be around students nor academia," Marshall wrote, calling for Lowcock's immediate termination. Lowcock's comments also prompted criticism from conservative groups like Turning Point USA, which reported the incident to the university, urging swift action. The outrage wasn’t limited to students and activists; alumni of the University of Kansas, such as Alex Dwyer, condemned the professor’s rhetoric as "un-American" and "dangerous," further amplifying the controversy online. POV: You’re a Republican at the University of Kansas. pic.twitter.com/tAWliRSNud — Alex Dwyer (@AlexDwyerKS) October 9, 2024 The University of Kansas responded promptly by placing Lowcock on administrative leave while they investigate the incident. In a brief statement posted on X, the university expressed that they do not condone the instructor's remarks and are taking the matter seriously. The university also removed Lowcock's staff profile from their athletics website and canceled his class following the video's release. This controversy is not an isolated incident at the University of Kansas. In recent years, the institution has found itself at the center of politically charged debates. For instance, in 2019, the university offered a course titled "Angry White Males," which received heavy criticism from conservative media. Additionally, a professor from the same university made headlines in 2013 after blaming the National Rifle Association (NRA) for the deaths resulting from a mass shooting, further deepening concerns about the political climate on campus. Many have expressed fears that such inflammatory rhetoric from educators could encourage violence in an already polarized society. Senator Marshall emphasized this point, stating that some individuals may be "insane enough" to take such statements seriously and act on them. He urged the university to take decisive action to prevent similar incidents in the future. As the investigation unfolds, the broader conversation surrounding free speech, academic freedom, and responsible discourse in university settings continues to evolve. While some defend Lowcock’s right to express frustration with gender bias, others argue that calls for violence, even in jest, have no place in academia, particularly in today’s highly charged political environment. Dad Sees 7-Yr-Old Daughter’s First-Ever Haircut & Can’t Help But Lose It

A lot of the time, as kids, time seems to go by pretty slowly. This changes for us all as we get older, of course. But the fleeting nature of time is especially felt by parents. In fact, all it takes is the blink of an eye for a newborn to become an adult — ask any parent. It seems this realization can hit parents at any given moment. However, huge milestones are known to bring these emotions to the forefront the most. The dad in the video below understands this all-too-well. That’s because, at 7-years-old, his daughter finally got a haircut for the first time. According to their post, it seems the parents did it themselves. While the little girl admires her adorable new look in the mirror, repeatedly pointing out how short it is, Dad has his own experience. See for yourself below! @jillian.bledsoe Crying over how much he loves her #fatherdaughter #growingup #parenting #joy #sahm #motherhood ♬ original sound – Noah Kahan “Crying over how much he loves her,” Jillian Bledsoe, the girl’s mom, writes in the caption of the viral video. In this moment, Dad is truly in awe of his little girl and how much she’s grown. The unique mixture of joy and sadness over the passing of time can literally be seen on his face, and it could not be heartbreakingly sweet. Based on the comment section of this video, it’s clear that most parents will understand this moment, having had ones of their own. This 7-Year-Old’s Very First Haircut Leaves Dad Feeling Emotional — and Now We’re All Crying “That man was fighting for his life behind that smile. We are crying with ya, dad,” someone shares in the comment section, with another adding, “How lucky is she to have a dad that loves her so much!” “‘It’s so short’ they both repeated,” a third person points out “Her, about her hair. Him in his thoughts, about how the time really was a thief.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here!
