‘If Trump loses, I’m f**ked’ – Musk

Tech mogul Elon Musk has told American journalist Tucker Carlson that he’s “all in” on Donald Trump winning the US presidential election in November. The billionaire sat down with Carlson for a full-length interview published on Monday on Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) social media network. Carlson began the interview by theorizing what would happen if Democratic nominee Kamala Harris beats Republican rival Trump in November. “If he loses… you’re f**ked, dude!” ...

U.S. CIA director warns "misjudgments" could further escalate conflict in Middle East

CIA Director William Burns warned Monday of the potential for simmering clashes in the Middle East to spread across the region even as, he said, the U.S. intelligence community had assessed the leaders of Iran and Israel are not looking for "all-out conflict." "[W]e face the very real danger of a further regional escalation of conflict," Burns said during a moderated question-and-answer session at the annual Cipher Brief threat conference in Sea Island, Georgia. He said Israel's...

US judge orders Google to open app store to rivals

A US federal judge has ruled that Google must allow Android apps made by rival technology firms onto its Google Play app store for three years starting next month. The change was among several remedies ordered by Judge James Donato in a case brought against Google by Epic Games, the maker of the hit video game Fortnite. Google says it will appeal against the decision and ask for a pause to the proposed remedies. In December, a jury sided with Epic, which says Google stifled competitors...

How FEMA got into the illegal immigrant business, and who is covering it up

In the midst of the last major budget crisis in Washington, Democrats diverted money and the legal authority to put the nation’s disaster relief agency into the business of caring for the millions of illegal immigrants who crossed the border on the Biden-Harris administration’s watch. And now both parties seem to be trying to obfuscate the truth. White House spokeswoman Karine-Jean Pierre took the lead in trying to suggest it was a "conspiracy theory" to suggest the Federal...

There is no evidence Iran has decided to rush toward building a nuclear weapon, CIA director says

There is no evidence that Iran has decided to build a nuclear weapon, and if it did, the U.S. and its allies would most likely be able to detect such a step soon after it was taken, CIA Director William Burns said Monday. As Israel weighs how it will retaliate against Iran after it came under an Iranian ballistic missile barrage last week, speculation has focused on whether it might choose to strike nuclear sites in Iran to try to cut off Tehran’s possible path to a nuclear weapon....

Kamala Harris rules out bilateral talks with Vladimir Putin on ending war in Ukraine

Kamala Harris has ruled out meeting one-on-one with Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine unless leaders from Kyiv were involved. In some of her most detailed comments to date about how she would try to end Russia’s war in Ukraine if elected US president, Harris said she would not meet “bilaterally” with Putin “without Ukraine”. “Ukraine must have a say in the future of Ukraine,” Harris added, in a televised interview with CBS News’...

‘Suspect’: Lawmakers ratchet up investigation into Soros radio station deal

Republican lawmakers on Monday ratcheted up the investigation into billionaire George Soros’ purchase of a wide swath of U.S. radio stations. Soros is a major donor to Democratic and liberal causes whose purchase of American radio stations just before the election raised eyebrows and drew Congressional inquiry. The deal began when the large radio company Audacy filed for bankruptcy. Via a complicated business deal, Soros gained control of the stations. Notably, House Energy and...

Russia's Economic Lifeline From China Is Expiring

The expiration of a U.S. government license this week might make it even more difficult for Russian firms to pay using Chinese yuan (RMB), now the most-traded foreign currency in the sanctioned country. U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions against the Moscow Exchange (MOEX) and its subsidiary, the National Clearing Center (NCC), took effect on June 13. This not only led to the suspension of trading the U.S. dollar but also euro and Hong Kong...

A Day In Rock-October 8th, 2023: Creed Turns Rangers Around

On this day last year… Creed gets credit for helping lift the Texas Rangers to the major league baseball playoffs. The Rangers see their season turn around when they start playing Creed in the clubhouse prior to games. According to Rangers’ pitcher Andrew Heaney listening to Creed was a way of “having fun” while dealing with the “rollercoaster of the second half” of the season.  The Rangers go on to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games (the best of seven) to take the 119th edition of the World Series. Creed’s music played a role in the post-game celebration following the final game. Multiple beer and champagne-soaked players gave a full-throated rendition Creed’s “Higher” in the locker room. Also, Creed sent along their congrats to the World Series champs. ### The post A Day In Rock-October 8th, 2023: Creed Turns Rangers Around appeared first on RockinTown.
