Not a Joke: Adam Schiff Begs Big Tech for 2020 Censorship Redux, Weeks Before Election

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) led a group of lawmakers pressuring Big Tech companies to censor free speech, including from a presidential candidate. Schiff and seven other Democrat lawmakers signed a letter whining that “most of your companies have cut their trust and safety teams,” i.e., censorship teams. Their letter not only pressed Meta, Google, X, YouTube, Snap, TikTok and Microsoft to censor anything vaguely described as “misinformation and disinformation,” but lamented the fact that former President Donald Trump has been restored on multiple platforms after previous bans. The lawmakers ended the letter by suggesting increased government-Big Tech collusion. The lawmakers pontificated that, instead of cutting censors, the tech companies should “incorporate their election efforts into their permanent plans and community guidelines.” Schiff and company seemed particularly fixated on allegations of 2020 election fraud, which are protected free speech. ”YouTube made a decision to resume videos that deny the 2020 election, undoing their prior commitment to election integrity,” the lawmakers dramatically complained. “Meta similarly resumed allowing political ads that claim stolen elections. And almost every major social media company reinstated Donald Trump’s account after previously banning him for violating their community standards.”  This appears to constitute a direct request for censorship of a political candidate over First Amendment-protected speech. The lawmakers grandiosely but vaguely claimed, “After witnessing the role that false or misleading content can play in our elections, we know our country cannot afford to have platforms backslide on their promises.” Indeed, the lawmakers specifically demanded censorship of election-related content full time. “While the impetus of this letter is the 2024 election, political and election-related mis- and disinformation persists even between elections, so we are also urging your companies to commit to taking action on election and political misinformation year-round, not just in the leadup to elections,” the letter stated. The letter concluded with the Democrats’ questions for information on Big Tech censorship policies, the “effectiveness” of such policies, and whether “political actors” receive special treatment after sharing “disinformation.”  The final question specifically suggested coordination between government and social media. “Will your company commit to keeping these election integrity plans in place indefinitely and keeping Congress fully informed about potential changes?” the lawmakers asked. In addition to Schiff, the other signers were Reps. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Hank Johnson (D-GA), Robert Garcia (D-CA), Doris Matsui (D-CA), Julia Brownley (D-CA), Dan Goldman (D-NY) and André D. Carson (D-IN). This isn’t Schiff’s first pro-censorship move. After the 2016 election, Schiff’s office infamously pressured Twitter to ban journalist Paul Sperry, according to the Twitter Files. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Toxic empathy: Why voters should support mass deportations

The policies that each presidential candidate represents undoubtedly have an effect on the lives of each tax-paying American citizen — which is why Allie Beth Stuckey believes a vote for Donald Trump and JD Vance is the right one. “Back in 2016, I was squeamish when Donald Trump was talking about the wall. I have been absolutely changed on this subject,” Stuckey tells Matthew Peterson and Jill Savage of “Blaze News Tonight.” “As I was writing my book, it’s called ‘Toxic Empathy,’ and it basically explains how progressives exploit Christian compassion to get, especially women, into believing that the progressive side of an issue is the most compassionate one,” she explains. Stuckey believes that Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, namely his call for mass deportation, should be enough reason to cast the Republican nominee a vote. “The chapter that I was most passionate about writing, that made me the angriest, was the immigration chapter. Telling the stories of Kate Steinle over again, the last words that she uttered, ‘Help me, Daddy,’ before she died in his arms because an illegal alien took her life. Mollie Tibbetts, same thing, and Laken Riley,” Stuckey says. All three of the young women Stuckey mentioned were found to be murdered by illegal immigrants. “I wrote the book because they hoist up a victim, whether it’s the woman who needs an abortion or the mom of three who’s fleeing Colombian gang violence, and through toxic empathy, they blind you to both reality and morality,” she explains, adding, “Through this emotional manipulation, they make you feel like you’re a good person by voting for the Democrats.” “There’s a misplaced nurturing there, and they think that they are taking care of these marginalized communities by voting with social justice policies.” Want more from 'Blaze News Tonight'?To enjoy more provocative opinions, expert analysis, and breaking stories you won’t see anywhere else, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

EXCLUSIVE: Masked woman unloads on 'racist' Springfield neighbors for being concerned about Haitians

A Springfield, Ohio, woman turned on her neighbors, accusing them of racism for complaining about the admitted increase in traffic accidents caused by Haitian nationals. Blaze News' Julio Rosas spoke to several locals outside Springfield City Hall as they waited to attend the city's highly attended commission meeting on September 24. 'Nothing but 1960s hatred. That's all it is.' One woman told Rosas that she believes the biggest issue facing the community is not anything stemming from the influx of Haitian nationals but rather her neighbors' "hatred." "There's no reason for it. These people aren't losing out on anything but maybe a little time standing in line," she stated. Referring to the Haitian nationals in the city, she said, "They're not taking a penny away from them; they're not taking a house away from them; they're not taking anything. They're here working and making the city so much better." The resident's statements directly contradicted many other locals' voiced concerns, including the increased rental costs and a general lack of housing in the area since approximately 20,000 Haitian nationals moved into the metropolitan area. The resident did concede with her fellow neighbors that Haitian drivers have caused an increase in traffic accidents. On the first day of school on August 2023, a Haitian national struck a school bus, killing an 11-year-old boy and hospitalizing 20 others. "It has been an issue, but at the same time, we had all these people that were speeding up and down the street," the resident declared. "Now, you can recognize a Haitian driving. Just drive with caution," she advised. "You know how they drive. Yes, it is a problem, but until they get fully trained, just be more cautious. Simple as that." The resident went on to outright reject neighbors' claims that Haitian males have been following females around retail stores, as a number of locals have recently told Blaze News. "Oh, hell no," she responded. "They would love to be followed in the stores, but, no, they're not being followed in the stores." When asked whether she believes people making such claims are lying, she replied, "Yes, I believe they're lying." "It's all about the hatred," she said. "We're back in the '60s again." "The biggest problem that they are really having is there's just too many black people," she continued. "They're scared of us. They always have been." She expressed frustration that many of the locals speaking at the meetings do not stay for the entire discussion. "They stay down here long enough to complain, get their little two minutes in the camera, then we switch over to the business — so what we're going to do with the city's money and that type of thing. And, if you'll notice, that room will be empty," she remarked. Despite previously asserting that the immigrants are "not taking a penny away" from residents, she told Rosas that the city has allocated resources to organizations working with the Haitian community to help them learn how to drive and speak English. "They've got all of this in motion. It's not going to happen overnight. Give it a little time," she declared. She noted that she hopes Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump does not come to visit Springfield because she is concerned it would "stir up more mess." "It's going to cause more hatred. It's going to cause a lot more people calling in bomb threats and everything," she said. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) recently stated that the bomb threats were all hoaxes and originated overseas, Blaze News previously reported. When confronted with this information, she told Rosas, "It might be. That might be true." "But had these people had a little empathy in their heart instead of hatred in their heart, this would have never happened," she continued. "Nothing but 1960s hatred. That's all it is." Judge reinstates Biden's student loan forgiveness plan just in time for the election

A federal judge reinstated a plan by the Biden administration to forgive billions in student loans just in time for the election. President Joe Biden's loan plan had been blocked by a temporary restraining order over a lawsuit from Republican attorneys general in seven states, including Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. The lawsuit accused the Biden administration of unconstitutionally overstepping its authority. 'You are bribing one set of voters by transferring their debt to the rest of us taxpayers.' On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Randal Hall ended the restraining order and allowed the plan to be reinstated. Hall said that the lawsuit did not have the proper standing for a lawsuit against the president's scheme. The lawsuit was transferred to Missouri, where Biden's program would harm a loan servicer. A statement from the U.S. Department of Education indicated the administration intended to continue to pursue the voter bribery scheme. "This lawsuit reflects an ongoing effort by Republican elected officials who want to prevent millions of their own constituents from getting breathing room on their student loans,” said a DOE spokesperson. “We will not stop fighting to fix the broken student loan system and provide support and relief to borrowers across the country.” Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas criticized Biden after the decision. "Let me fix it for you. It’s a student loan TRANSFER. Not 'forgiveness.' You are bribing one set of voters by transferring their debt to the rest of us taxpayers," Crenshaw posted on social media. "That’s a transfer of debt responsibility without transferring any of the benefits incurred by the doctors and lawyers that got the loans for their higher education. It is one of the most unethical–not to mention illegal–bribery schemes in recent history," he added. While many on the left called it a massive win for Biden, Axios characterized it as a "small victory" given that a Missouri court can still put the program on hold before it is implemented. Judge Hall was appointed by George W. Bush. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Melania Trump says press secretary told her she couldn't tell the truth behind infamous 'I really don't care' fashion message

Six years after her infamous fashion message angered many on the left, Melania Trump revealed that her former press secretary forbade her from telling the media her intended meaning. In June 2018, amid constant criticism from the media, then-first lady Trump wore a jacket with the message "I really don't care, do u?" on the back. 'I disagreed with her insistence that I couldn’t say that.' In her new memoir, according to the Guardian, Trump says that she told her press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, she wanted to say that the jacket was a message to the liberal media, but her aide said she couldn't do so. Trump was returning from a surprise visit with child immigrants on the US-Mexico border when she donned the jacket. "It's a message for the media," the former first lady recalled telling Grisham in her book. "She told me I couldn’t say that. ‘Why not? It is the truth,'" she added. “I disagreed with her insistence that I couldn’t say that." Trump said Grisham ignored her comments and put out a statement to a friendly CNN reporter without her approval. “It’s a jacket, there was no hidden message," the statement said at the time. Four months later, Trump admitted the real meaning behind the jacket in an interview with ABC News. “I want to show them that I don’t care,” she said at the time. “You could criticize whatever you want to say, but it will not stop me to do what I feel is right.”Grisham has since turned on the administration she served and become a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump after the rioting at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. She spoke at the 2024 Democratic convention against the former president, who she called a "threat" to the country. Like Blaze News?
