OneRepublic originated in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2002. The band was formed by lead vocalist Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins. They gained mainstream success on the MySpace platform and were signed by Columbia Records. However, they did not release an album until they moved to Mosley Music Group, a label operated by producer Timbaland. Their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud (2007), included the hit single “Apologize,” which bolstered their fame with a remix by Timbaland. This track became a massive hit worldwide.
