If he passes his audition, you might see Gritty at Eastern State Penitentiary’s Halloween Nights haunted attraction. The only potential problem is that Gritty is such a well-known and beloved part of the city that he might not be as scary as a zombie. They could put a white sheet over him and turn him into a hulking ghost. His bright orange coloration makes him the right color to be a walking pumpkin.
Gritty’s audition video was scary enough, but it might not be sufficient to give him an edge against the competition.

Gritty is seven feet tall, bright orange, perpetually smiling, and his googly eyes never seem to be in the right place. His name comes from the team’s “gritty determination.” The mascot has become a beacon of goodwill throughout the city. He has done a promotional visit to the Philadelphia Zoo and found friendship with Wally, the emotional support alligator.

Even if Gritty is not scary enough to earn a role at the haunted attraction, he may appear there during the spooky season. As a goodwill ambassador, he tends to show up in unlikely places. You can learn more about Gritty’s antics on his Instagram page. You’ll find plenty of fun clips to entertain you for hours.
