Ex-National Security Advisor McMaster Fuels UFO Speculation

Former National Security Advisor and retired Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster recently made surprising comments on UFOs, now known as “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAP), during a Sept. 6 interview on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” McMaster who became the latest official to make eyebrow-raising comments about UFOs remarked, “there are phenomena that have been witnessed by multiple people that are just inexplicable by any kind of science available to us.” McMaster’s statements arrive as the Senate prepares to review the bipartisan Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Disclosure Act, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Mike Rounds. This act alleges that a secret government program has been working to reverse-engineer UAP of “unknown” and “non-human” origin. The legislation requires the federal government to take control of all recovered UAP and “biological evidence of non-human intelligence.” The introduction of this act, along with recent comments from McMaster and other officials, signals a major shift in the U.S. government’s approach to UFOs. For decades, the government dismissed credible UAP incidents. However, the 2017 New York Times article that revealed military encounters with UAP changed the narrative. Former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe have both made startling comments about UAP, with Ratcliffe noting that UAP “exhibit technologies that we don’t have and… we are not capable of defending against.” Given these developments, Congress must pass the Disclosure Act and resolve the long-standing UFO mystery, especially as UAP have reportedly interacted with sensitive U.S. military assets, including nuclear missile sites.
