Jane’s Addiction has canceled the remainder of its U.S. tour after an onstage scuffle in Boston on September 13th abruptly brought an ended to the concert. Frontman Perry Ferrell, who apparently unhappy with the band’s loud volume, among other issues, confronted guitarist Dave Navarro and attempted to punch him. Roadies and bassist Eric Avery jumped in to restrain Ferrell. In the confusion Avery reportedly punched Ferrell. The next day, the band posted an apology to fans on Instagram. Then today, band members Navarro, Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins released statement: “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.” They also hoped Ferrell will get the help he needs. “We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets,” the statement continues, “We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.
