Democratic Congresswoman’s Vehicle Gets Booted

Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) had her vehicle booted in Washington D.C. due to hundreds in unpaid fines. Wild, who represents Pennsylvania’s toss up 7th District, reportedly owes $775 for four separate violations. According to the New York Post, one of the fines included illegally parking in a handicap spot. Pennsylvania Dem Rep. That’s the cost of two tickets for tag and speeding violations she committed in December 2023 and May 2024, respectively. The two other tickets — which account for the remaining $300 Wild owes — are for separate tag and speeding violations she committed in May 2024 and July 2024, respectively. An older photo shows Wild’s vehicle, a white SUV with a Ukrainian flag and a handful of other bumper stickers slapped on its rear, parked illegally in a handicap space without the proper placard needed visible. This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about Wild’s wild driving habits. In 2022, a distracted-driving activist called her out for taking a Zoom call with constituents on camera, behind the wheel — as she drove erratically — slamming the rep for being “stupid as hell.” Susan Wild's Wild Ride: Rep's SUV Gets Booted for $775 in Unpaid Speeding, Other Traffic Tickets, Embattled Democrat Still Parks in Handicapped Spacehttps://t.co/oTm9WJC0gw — Washington Free Beacon (@FreeBeacon) October 2, 2024 Washington Free Beacon reports: While Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., do not disclose driver information from license plates for safety reasons, footage obtained by the Free Beacon shows the Democrat entering and exiting the vehicle. It’s the latest car-related woe for Wild, considered one of the most vulnerable House Democrats running for reelection. In 2022, she faced scrutiny for conducting a Zoom video call while driving in heavy traffic. The head of a group that works to combat distracted driving told the Free Beacon at the time that Wild’s behavior “sets a really bad example for our children.” Wild, who serves on the House Committee on Ethics, has engaged in other questionable vehicular activity that has not been cited by D.C. police. In one instance, Wild appears to have switched out bumper stickers on the vehicle over the years. The car now has a bumper sticker of a Ukrainian flag and a ribbon that states “Support Our Troops.” The Democratic incumbent faces Republican challenger Ryan Mackenzie, a state representative, in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
