Details: Ericsson considers fleeing multicultural area - staff insecure

Telecommunications giant Ericsson is considering moving its headquarters from the multicultural Kista district in Stockholm. According to information, the reason is the increased uncertainty in the area with staff feeling unsafe.

Ericsson is said to have been considering a move from Kista for some time, and the issue is said to have been raised by CEO Börje Ekholm already last year. This is stated by sources for Dagens industri .

The situation must be so serious that it happens that employees are escorted by security personnel to the subway in the evening.

Per Norlander, group negotiator for Sweden's Engineers at Ericsson Sweden, confirms that the issue of new premises is brought up at regular intervals and that "it's about the area around Kista being a bit dingy".

Nobody at Ericsson wants to officially comment on the data. However, it states that it makes "risk assessments and takes preventive measures" for the safety of its employees.

At the same time, it is claimed that one does not feel that Kista stands out in terms of the number of incidents.
