Law & Justice. Kalmar District Court hired a district notary who had previously been convicted of having a loaded gun during a confrontation between criminals at a gambling club. Then the Swedish Tax Agency registered the man at the court's office - because he had no known residence.
It is Sweden's Radio P4 Kalmar that reveals the story of how a convicted armed gang criminal was employed as a district notary by the Kalmar district court.
A court notary is one of the first level of judges in Sweden and notaries themselves can judge in simpler cases. They have a passed degree from the law program.

But this judge was himself sentenced to six months in prison for weapons offences, after having a loaded gun during an underworld showdown at a gambling club. A protective vest was also found in a garbage can where the man was, the verdict says, according to Sveriges Radio.
After the crime was revealed, it also emerged that the man is registered at the district court's office, because the Tax Agency could not find a residential address to register him at and therefore registered him at his workplace.
The head of the Kalmar district court, lawyer Laila Kirppu, confirms to P4 Kalmar that an internal investigation has been launched regarding an employee.
So far, no explosions or shootings have been directed at the district court's office, but according to Kirppu, it is still "unacceptable" that gang criminal employees are written on the court's premises.
